Probably the fact that underneath the stoic, intimidating demeanor she puts on, she's a petty person who has tantrums whenever things don't go her way. Black Star Diopside's reputation is very important to her so if that information ever got out, not only would she be a joke amongst her fellow Gems, the other Black Star Diopsides would never let her hear the end of it.

She allows herself another glance, fully taking in the other Gem's appearance.

Different, he says. Deviance from the norm wasn't much of a thing within the strict society of Homeworld. Behavior and most certainly appearance. In fact, Gems like Lapisidian existing was downright unheard of. So how he hadn't been shattered on sight, well, it was odd to the Pearl. A lapse in protocol? She didn't know. She wasn't about to ask though.

"I'm..." She pauses. "I'm very sorry for my outburst." Her hands wring together in nervousness. "I'm sure you two are... wonderful?"

She doesn't sound like she believes the words she's saying.
