6th June:- I have completed 10 sketches of my process for how I draw and the crazy logic if any - on where your minds go to find new inspirations - most of the time I just start drawing & hope something cool and wonderful comes out of the paper - My idea is to start my comic with a Japanese twist - maybe it’s to state that drawing is hard and the world should see it’s amazing qualities and don’t treat artists like it’s just a wee hobby as it’s not - it’s their life as there’s creativity everywhere & we are sponges wanting to creative more- So the world should appreciate artists more and see their lifelong talents!

5th June - I sketched a few as I was so inspired by ‘Guro horror Manga’ - the thought of your inner talent is a demon and how much research has went into creativity and depression being  linked but in this link they say it’s a good thing
https://creativesomething.net/post/55508909341/the-link-between-depression-and-creativity-and
I listened to more ‘Dina Rodriguez’ (Overcomes Fears) - she mentioned a book ‘Creative Confidence:- Unleashing the Creative Potential Within Us’ by Tom Kelley & David Ketley - pity not an audio book

There is an amazing Blogger ‘Dina Rodriguez’ who does brilliant Podcasts too    https://www.lettershoppe.com/ https://www.womenofillustration.com/
I recommend you to listen - they have so much great information to help artist and Dina is such a star as she brakes everything down for you see her process!
Dina mentioned the Podcasts she listens to like ‘Drunk on Lettering’ Roxy Primat and Pnoebe Cornog - really cool upbeat talented girls having a great time talking, drinking and having fun. When I was listening to them - they mentioned a book called ‘YOU ARE A BADASS’ written by Jen Sincero well the Bear bought me the audio that night - amazing (Jen Sincero will change your head space)
The Word ‘Kuyashii’ was made popular by Chef’s Table Niki Nakayama - it’s mean :- When somebody puts you down or says you can’t do something and you have this burning desire to prove them wrong - Fran Menese another great artist & Podcaster mentioned this saying ‘Kuyashii’
There’s another saying ‘Nana Korobi Yaoki’ meaning fall down 7times get up 8 - In this drawing am holding a Japanese Daruma Doll - A gift of encouragement & reminds us to never give up on our dreams - When you get a Daruma Head it has no eyes you have to paint in the eyes and make a wish & when it comes true you paint in the other eye! I have the Evil Slave-Driver on her Roman Chariot used for Warfare wiping me to draw more - inner bitch is never satisfied!

This week I have been drawing my process - on how I start drawing - I have loads of ideas but I do have constant internal negative dialogue ‘Usually stating I should do better and draw more - am not good enough - as there’s so my talented people out there!’
I came across ‘Yami Kawaii’ - meaning ‘Dark Cute’ - it’s the new Harajuku style subculture in Japan. It’s amazing not do they have their own fashion - cute fragile girls wearing their feelings on their garments - coloured pills, injection needles, hanging nooses and cute skulls.
Bisuko Ezoki is an amazing fashion designer in Japan and has designed/creator of ‘Menhera chan’ the Yami Kawaii Mascot!
Menhera is a slang term derived from ‘Mental Healther’ indicates people suffering with mental care. this whole sub-culture has fascinated me as Japan doesn’t like to talk about depression and they are one of the highest suicide rates in the world. So it’s amazing the youth are creating their unique fashion of their feelings.
This week was me drawing & developing a cute girl character trying to deal with internal negative voices - I really enjoyed the process and love Japan!
