Evolution of the Metazoan Brain in the Early Cambrian
In the 7 May 2015 issue of Current Biology, Javier Ortega-Hernández reports more research progress on the paleoneurology and developmental biology of early metazoan brains during the period of the Cambrian Explosion
Specifically, preserved neurological remains associated with the stalked eyes and anterior sclerites in the middle Cambrian Burgess Shale euarthropods Helmetia expansa and Odaraia alata provide evidence that these morphologies are associated with nerve traces originating from the anterior brain region, the protocerebrum.  These fossils show a transition from early soft bodies animals, such as the Maotianshan Shales Lobopodian (a worm with legs) Cardiodictyon catenulum shown in middle picture, to the more advanced arthropods with segmentation, mineralized exoskeleton, and cephalic (i.e., head) appendages, such as the Burgess Shale Odaraia alata arthropod (lower picture). In there monumental 1953 Nature paper, Watson and Crick did not report the discover of DNA. Rather, they reported the chemical binding among the nucleic acids that render the beautiful double helix. This is the “specific pairings” they refer to in the above quote. When they said “suggests a possible copying mechanism”,  it was a premeditated and masterful understatement, which had the effect of amplifying the importance of the work.

The Last Pogo Jumps Again http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808447 THE LAST POGO JUMPS AGAIN studies the evolution of Toronto from small town to big city and its pop/counter culture lifestyle during the early and mid-70s. It centers around the first wave of Toronto punk rock and new wave music, from the Ramones playing The New Yorker Theatre in ‘76 through the police shutting down Teenage Head and causing a riot at the Horseshoe Tavern's infamous “The Last Pogo” concert in December 1978.
