I'd like to focus my biome environment research on tropical forests and see how polynesian culture has evolved alongside them. I'd like to learn more about the different fauna structures, textures, and colours, as well as how everything naturally fits together and around one another. I plan to investigate this by examining their clothing materials, tools, man-made structures, food practises, and so on. In addition I will observe photographs, videos, and other artists' studies on rainforests.
I chose these two because of my Samoan heritage and that I was raised there. I thought that it would be fun to get to know the environment in a different way, by deconstructing everything and see the influence it has had to the culture.
I started this creative ~Journey~ a little later than others, having spent the previous three years working as a barista, but that's alright because it only took a pandemic for me to come to the realisation that I want to enjoy my life while working. Other than art I play a bunch of pc games, play guitar and watch my ever growing pile of clean washing in the corner. I worry it’s going to speak one day.
Aight, my goals for this year as an artist is to suss out my foundations and have the smoothest lines ever like sungmoomoo, and bring my characters/worlds to life like yuumei and wlop. And by the end of the year I’d like to get into summer internship at Weta Digital.
I'll draw my mountain as I proceed, and by the end, I'll have conquered it.
Some digital art I did this and last year
