A Little Advice for CGs
Talk to your regressor about their regression.
There are probably a thousand or more ways to regress. Even if you read every single how-to post about Caregiving and Regression, you will be unprepared for your regressor until you talk to them about it.
Some regressors need a lot of care and attention and its important to communicate that need to the caregiver. Some regressor dont need much attention and prefer to be left alone. Some regressions ike toys and stuffies and lots of regression “gear”. Other regressors have one stuffie that they use and thats it. All of these things need to be communicated to the Caregiver.
I know it can be weird to talk to someone about age and pet regression. Some people refuse to understand, others simply cant. But you both need to put all of those feelings aside and have this important conversation. Itll be for the best in the end, and it can help you understand each other on a deeper level.
No two regressors are the same, so they cant all be treated the same. I know that theres a lot of how-to posts written by regressors and those posts can be very helpful if your regressor is THAT kind of regressor. But if theyre not, youll be lost at sea, trying to row your boat with an anchor.
Here are some questions you can ask each other to determine the style of regressing and caregiving you do.
For your Regressor to answer:
💖 what age do you regress to?
💖 how deeply do you regress? Do you have a complete change of mental state or is it just a passive mood you experience?
💖 what kinds of things can [CG] say or do to help brighten your mood when regressed?
💖 what do you like to do while regressed?
💖 what are some things you can’t do when regressed?
💖 do you have any specific triggers to avoid when regressed?
💖 how much attention to you need to feel like [CG] is caring your for effectively?
💖 what do you feel is most important for your CG to know or do when you are regressed?
For your Caregiver to answer:
💖 do you have a caregiver headspace that you get into for caregiving?
💖 do you have limits on what you can do as a caregiver?
💖 do you have any triggers as a caregiver?

💖 how much attention to you need to feel loved?

a │ s : agere & babysitting.
what is babysitting? how does it help littles? it's okay if you don't know ~ pumpkin is here to help you see how important it can be to littles & some times caregivers too! <3
so what is 'babysitting' in an agere context?
babysitting is the term giving to when someone who isn't your caregiver takes on the role of looking after you for a short period of time.
it could be for an hour to two, a night or even a week- however long the little needs & the other person is avaliable<3
is it a good thing & how?
i think it's an amazing thing!!
not only does it help littles who don't have caregivers feel validated and worthy, but it also helps the other party involved learn about the little community without the pressure of any difficult titles.
even littles babysit one another!! which just further strengthen their strong bond! <3
is it difficult?
it can be if the little your babysitting is having an involuntary regression?? or just a little grumpy after a bad and stressful day.
but nine times out of ten, i find it to be a pleasent and fun experience. much so mirroring a sibling relationship <3
some examples!
⭐ movie nights!
⭐ colouring/fun activites
⭐ watching youtube/comfort streamer
⭐ watching cartoons
⭐ baking!
⭐ babbling with one another.

5 Super Fun Age Regression Self-Care Ideas! - Age Regression Series
Originally posted to www.onlyfunthings.org on January 14, 2019
Tumblr media
Ciao lovelies! Today’s post is for all the age regressors out there that read OFT! (Hi yes, I see you, you are valid and amazing!). You all seemed to like my last two posts on Age Regression (my post on What Is Age Regression, and Age Regression Journaling) and I got a lot of positive feedback, so I wanted to make you all more content!
If you are confused about what Age Regression is please see this post (click me!) regarding what it is, myths about it, and some regressor’s personal opinions as to why they regress and use regression as a coping mechanism.
A short definition is: Age Regression is a coping mechanism used by some to help with trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental illness, and some just use it to cope with stress. During age regression a person’s headspace becomes regressed to a younger age. A person who is regressing may act younger and more carefree and may have more “Childish” interests. Simply, age regression is a coping mechanism.
I am not a therapist nor a licensed professional, any and all advice and information given on this coping mechanism comes from a variety of sources such as: testimonies from age regressors, personal experience, and personally knowing some people who age regress.
So now that all that is out of the way, let’s get into the self-care ideas!
#1- Coloring! Many people use coloring as a stress reliever, and I know of many, many age regressors who love to color! Coloring can be fun because you don’t have to draw from scratch, you can just focus on filling in blank space with beautiful color. You can find all sorts of kids coloring books on sale at dollar stores for $1! Dollar Tree has a bunch! You can also print your own coloring pages if you don’t like any coloring books at the store. You could even make a whole coloring book binder completely customized to your interests!
#2- Treat yourself to a little something! Whether you get yourself a blindbox toy, some candy, or even an ice cream cone, maybe take the time to get yourself a little something, because you totally deserve it!
#3- Have a small day! Has life been stressing you out? Have you been busy with work, school, and other stressful things? Well, if you have the time, maybe take a day to just be a kid! (AKA- let yourself regress!) Take the time to make a nice little day out of it. Maybe plan a small outing to the park or to the mall, or if you’re more comfortable, spend the day at home. If you stay at home, maybe lay out a blanket on your bed or on the floor, wherever you feel more comfy, and make a small space with your favorite toys, stuffed animals, and coloring book!
#4- Blanket Fort! A great fun thing to do when you’re regressed that can be awesome for self-care is to build a blanket fort! You can use pillows and chairs and blankets and sheets to build the fort, and you could have stuffed animals guarding your fort!
#5- Make yourself a sticker chart! We have a whole post explaining why Sticker Charts are Good for Your Mental Health! Make yourself a sticker chart with all your daily to-dos, and reward yourself when you fill up a row!
What do you think of these ideas? Let us know in the comments! And let me know if you want to see more content like this! I figured since our last age regression posts were so well-liked, I should make some more content like it!
Remember to Stay Awesome and Love Yourself!

Important reminders for caregivers of all kinds:
✨ You cannot take care of others if you neglect to take care of yourself first.
✨ Your mental, physical and emotional health do not make you any less of a caregiver.
✨ Having intrusive thoughts of any nature does not make you any less of a caregiver.
✨ You do not need to fit a certain aesthetic to be a caregiver.
✨ Caregiving should be a mutually beneficial experience for everyone involved.
✨ Whether you’re a full time caregiver or occasionally babysit, you are still a caregiver.
✨ It’s okay not to use the term caregiver and prefer other titles.
✨ Expressing discomfort with nicknames such as mama, dada, etc is perfectly okay as your comfort is very important.
✨ You do not need to identify a certain way to use certain nicknames.
✨ There’s nothing wrong with disliking certain things about caregiving.
✨ Caregiving can be a coping mechanism as much as regressing/dreaming are.
✨ Your thoughts, feelings, comfort and happiness are always important and should always be respected.
✨ Caregivers can find comfort in or need to use diapers or other common regression/dreaming items as well.
✨ You are always allowed to decline taking care of someone else if you’re low on energy, need time to yourself, aren’t comfortable doing so, or for any reason at all.
✨ Taking a break from caregiving to focus on your own needs is perfectly okay and highly encouraged if needed.
✨ Needing to take time for yourself does not make you a bad caregiver nor does it mean you don’t love those you care for.
✨ Wanting to explore your own regression/dreaming or other coping mechanisms is highly encouraged.
✨ You shouldn’t neglect your own regression/dreaming or other coping mechanisms in favor of caring for others.
✨ You should never be forced to constantly look after someone else when you need to be taken care of yourself.

a│s : agere & overthinking
overthinking can be a nasty thing to deal with,
it can turn innocent thought processes into an icky feelings in a second, so here are some things that could possibly help <3.
✩ talking to somebody.
although it's hard to do, talking to somebody can really help you get a second opinion on those overthinking thoughts. nine times out of 10 it helps rationalize your feelings too, but only open up to people you trust- we don't want icky people making you feel even worse <3.
it can also be the first step in getting things better, regarding bullying, or other big scary things <3.
✩ getting out out.
use healthy ways of coping, such as burn journals, scrapbooks, diaries, rage rooms, boxing, dancing, singing, writing- anything that will help you feel better & it also helps you too!! <3.
✩ breathing techniques.
these help a lot when overthinking spirals into panic attacks or anxiety attacks. breathing technique videos can be found on youtube, and even some have people there to verbally walk you through the calming down journey <3.
✩ distractions.
sometimes a distraction can go a long way!
even if it's simply being a couch potato watching your favourite films, tv shows or youtube channels. it's okay to need a break sometimes, we're only human.

Regular Customers
Oh, look who it is! My favorite regular :D same drink today? What’s that? You’re feeling smaller than usual? That’s just fine, darling. Here, take a seat right here, I’ll go bring you a stuffie and I’ll start warming up a bottle of milk for you, okay? Oh no it’s ok! You know I love taking care of you when you’re small, no need to apologize. Here’s your stuffie and bottle, and I’ll play some cartoons that you might wanna watch. I know it can feel difficult feeling so small in such a big world, but know that you’ll always have your safe space here with me in the cafe, little one.
Stay as long as you need <3
