[Video description: Two rabbits on a dark rug. Nyx, the black and tan one, shoves her head under Chewie, the golden brown one. Chewie is cleaning his neck but starts cleaning Nyx's eye instead. Her face is completely hidden under him. /End]
Nyx wouldn't share Chewie last night but how can I be mad when she does this?
One of my fave things to do with Chewie when he flops is listen to his stomach gurgling and go, "Hrmm. Oh dear. Very bad news, I'm afraid: you're a rabbit. It's terminal. I'm so sorry."
Except I'm saying it directly into his fur and the vibrations of my voice are making him tooth purr in his sleep
I've been trying to do this a little bit every day, but it's hard to keep Nyx & Chewie from jumping down while I catch Shion. It's too high up & I worry about injuries.
Might try the upstairs bathroom as the next bonding location... 🤔
Rabbits and I spending the day in bed... finally got up and went for a walk. I’m glad I have work tomorrow, that’s usually enough to shake me from these ruts.
A common occurrence in our house! It's usually not about the location so much the angle for Shion. When we're doing porch time, he will chase after me if I try to move the litter box too far away from the target location. He wants it to be under something, but like. at a 45 degree angle.
KEEP ADVOCATING FOR YOURSELF PENELOPE! Also good job at keeping the poops contained!
THIS little lady
I moved her litter box while cleaning and forgot to put it back. Penelope made her displeasure known.
Once corrected she immediately went and used it, polite princess that she is.
She also tried to climb the pink x-pen for the second time. =|
Nyx bit me last night. I understand WHY she did it (I put my hand in front of her face), but also SHE approached ME. Whenever I try to pat her little head when she puts her paws on my thigh, she acts like I have committed the most heinous crime and flicks her feet as she hops off.
I tried something new today! I removed the xpen barrier while the buns were eating, so they could explore on their own terms. It worked out great! The big buns mostly ignored Shion, and there was only one scuffle that required intervention because Chewie got flipped over.
There's a chest on the deck where we keep cushions until summer. It's chest high on me, so almost 5ft off the ground. First, I put Shion and Nyx on it, and then I pressed them down with my body weight.
They were both so confused that they just froze. I then petted them both together. Shion was pretty scared (I could feel him shaking), but Nyx was mostly interested in finding an exit.
They stayed still enough for me to add Chewie, where I repeated the process. Add pressure. Pet everybun at the same time. I put Shion in the middle because he's the one the big buns have to get along with & vice versa.
I'm just glad that there wasn't IMMEDIATE violence, so this is good progress!
I'm back from vacation!!!!!! The weather gods smiled upon us and it was a lovely day to let the buns hop around in the sun. I missed having a warm loaf next to me ;A;
