Tales of the Three NUTketeers (and other Nutty Buddies)
Magadamia Nut here, with the latest from the hazelnut highways of the West. As a born and bred Cheesehead (On, Wisconsin!), I haven’t spent much time outside of the great Midwest, and I’ve grown up hearing stereotypes about other regions of the country. However, as my two months on the pistachiroads have proven, people everywhere are more similar than they are different, and I’ve made some amazing nutty buddies so far!
Tumblr media
The Three NUTketeers: Peconner, me and Extra Salted Elise
While in Rawlins, Wyoming my team and I did an interview with the Rawlins Daily Times. We were stoked because this was our very first interview on the job, and ended up talking to the reporter for a long time afterward. He told us that he had graduated high school with a sixth grade reading level, but thanks to a teacher who believed in him, went on to graduate college and become a successful journalist. We were really inspired by his story, but even more moved when he showed up at our event the next day with complimentary copies of the Rawlins Daily Times and a mysterious envelope. He explained to us that we had made a huge impact on him and the people of Rawlins simply by talking and listening to them, and that inside the envelope was a note that we should give to someone that we meet on the road who needs some hope and encouragement. I was blown away by the kindness he showed us and his desire to spread that to others.
Tumblr media
Our article in the Rawlins Daily Times and the note from the reporter!
We also met a local artist in Medford, Oregon who stopped by our event to Shout For Nuts and grab a salty snack. Before leaving, she gave us three painted stones — my favorite had Pikachu on it — and asked us to take them with us on our travels and leave them somewhere for another person to find. We talked to her for a long time and found out that painting rocks and hiding them is a trend in the Northwest and that the rocks can actually be tracked on Facebook. She also told us that even though it is cool to see where her art ends up, she does it to make others happy and bring unexpected joy to their days. She certainly achieved this with us when she came back to our event a few hours later and gave us our very own rock with the NUTmobile painted on it. I have no plans of leaving our NUTmobile rock somewhere for others to find because I’m too attached to it, but one thing I do plan to share is this artist’s desire to spread joy and make others’ day during my year with the NUTmobile!
Tumblr media
The NUTMobile rock (and some beautiful Oregon scenery)
Last, but surely not least, is my friend, Matt Khaddor, who my team and I met in Anaheim, California. We met Matt when he came to take pictures with the NUTmobile, and he told us he is a Disney Cast Member. When he found out that I had never been to Disneyland, he didn’t miss a beat in inviting us all to to the park the next day with three free tickets! We spent the next day at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure, and we all hit it off with Matt so much that he decided to spend the whole day with us and even pulled some strings to get us to the front of several lines. The following Monday — which also happened to be my birthday — we were about to hit the road for our drive to San Francisco, when there was a knock on our hotel door. Extra Salted Elise opened it, and Matt walked in singing happy birthday with a huge birthday cupcake for me in hand! It’s not everyday you make instant friends with someone like my team did with Matt, and I am looking forward to meeting up with him again next time we are in Southern California!
Tumblr media
Waiting in line for Toy Story Mania with Matt!
The open, kind and welcoming nature of the people we meet on the salty streets never ceases to amaze me. I feel like one lucky nut to work for a brand that is all about making magic for others, and I am so thankful for this once-in-a-lifetime opportuNUTy. Don’t forget: there’s no such thing as strangers, only nutty buddies you haven’t met yet.
Stay Nutty!

A Giant Nut in the Hawkeye State
Salt-utations friends! Pistach-iara here. The three central nut-keteers are making so many memories on the trailed mixed roads of America.
Last week we were in Des Moines, Iowa and I had so much fun.  On Saturday, we worked at the 30th Annual Midwest Peanut Pals Convention in Creston, IA. The Peanut Pals are Mr. Peanut super fans whom collect Mr. Peanut memorabilia.  They were thrilled to meet Mr. Peanut and the Class V Peanutters. Ja-Cashew-lyn, Legume Liam and I got to meet some great people and they really made us feel part of their family. During the convention, they hosted a swap meet where I was able to buy some cool Mr. Peanut swag like the key chain pictured below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Des Moines was definitely unforgettable and now it’s time for Kansas City! I am eager to come across the experiences that await us. In less than two months we have been in seven states, and we cannot wait to explore others such as Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and my dear Texas in the next couple of weeks. Make sure you keep in touch via NUTmobile social media to follow our journey!
Cashew later, nuts!

A Little Salt and a Squirrels Game
To all the con-nut-seurs out there, what sport mixes best with peanuts? Baseball of course! So the Peanutters and Mr. Peanut went to Richmond, Virginia with the help of the Virginia Peanut Growers Association for some good cheer and fun at the Richmond Flying Squirrels game! Driving right up to the stadium in the NUTmobile, the crowd grew as game time was nearing. As fans started proclaiming their love for nuts by shouting at booming levels, Mr. Peanut went out and about exploring the stadium taking pictures with fellow nut lovers.
Tumblr media
With the solid smile and dapper outfit, Mr. Peanut managed to slide his way into the stadium. Accompanied by his nutty friends, Mr. Peanut was enthralled as he danced and did a team huddle.
Tumblr media
As I watched from the sidelines, Mr. Peanut was even allowed onto the field where he gave huge moral support to all of the honorary first pitchers. Luckily the weather was like a pack of peanuts– it was perfect! Agains with so much charm, Mr. Peanut even managed to snag a squirrel’s baseball.
Tumblr media
After an exciting day, all the Peanutters received tickets to the game and were able to enjoy some good minor league baseball. Inches away from a t-shirt toss, we also managed to evade any foul balls coming in our direction. It was a good day indeed for peanuts and its nutty companions.
Tumblr media
Sincerely salty,
Pi-Zach-io

BIG PEANUT, little world
What’s crackalackin’ Planters fans? Extra Salted Elise here to shell out some stories about the NUTmobile’s east to west nut crackin’ fest! For me, the most meaningful aspect of this year-long road trip has been the interactions my team and I get to share with the people we meet in every city. Before beginning this tour, I thought I would be the one positively impacting others, but, in reality the people I’ve met are the ones impacting me. Whether its been a meaningful conversation, big smile, or a unique interaction, I am forever grateful for all of the people who have embraced the NUTmobile and our team with kindness and hospitality. From small towns to big cities, I can say first hand that there are wonderful people everywhere and that is truly something to shout about. So, when you see Mr. Peanut and his nutty ride, make sure you #ShoutForNuts, snag a pic, and tag us on twitter or instagram!

The NUTmobile Takes on Indy
Shell-O, my nutty buddies!
My name is Ja-Cashew-lyn and I'm riding around in the Central NUTmobile with Legume Liam and Pistach-Iara. We've spent the past few weeks bouncing around Louisville and Indianapolis. In Louisville, we got a chance to meet a Vietnam veteran who taught us how they used to eat peanuts back in the '60s: by putting them in cola and drinking them! It was awesome getting to see how different people from different areas of the country enjoyed eating (or drinking!) peanuts over multiple decades.
Next up we spent a week in Indianapolis at our first round of Kroger stores, where we were joined by the nutty NASCAR Kroger team while the Brickyard 400 was going on just a couple of miles away! It was great to exchange travel tips and vehicle photos with a team that travels the whole country just like us.
Tumblr media
On our off days in Indianapolis, we were lucky enough to visit the Indianapolis Zoo, catch a quick dolphin show, and get one of the largest burgers I've ever seen at the famous Maxine's. We also stopped for a quick picture at one of the iconic 'NDY' signs.
Tumblr media
This week we were also blessed with our first kitchenette so eggs, pasta, and even a barbecue (complete with Oscar Mayer hotdogs and a couple real live Hotdoggers) outside was on the menu for these three nut-keteers!
After a long slate of grocery stores, we are so excited for the Door County Fair coming up in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin on August 6th and the Peanut Pals Convention in Creston, Iowa on August 12th!
Cashew later,
Ja-Cashew-lyn

A Nutty Fourth of July
Shell-utations everyone!
My name is Liam Sullivan, but you can call me Legume Liam and I’m having a shell of a time driving the Planters NUTmobile around the country! Although it’s only been a few short weeks, I can tell that this is going to be a nuts year of fun, smiles and unforgettable memories.
Tumblr media
The opportunity to shell-ebrate America’s birthday with Mr. Peanut and our 23.5-footlong NUTmobile was by far my favorite day so far. For the 4th of the July, my partners Ja-Cashew-lyn, Pistach-Iara and I headed to Lake Bluff, Illinois for what made for an amazing day. With the sun shining, families lining the streets and red, white and blue as far as the eye could see, it made for a great day. Seeing Mr. Peanut bring so much joy to people ages 5 to 95 was surreal — I still can’t believe that I’m lucky enough to call this work.
We felt so welcomed by the small town, with one family buying us breakfast before the parade took off and celebrating after the parade at the community BBQ on the town green. The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays, but celebrating with Mr. Peanut and the NUTmobile will be a memory I’ll have forever.
Tumblr media
Next up, we’re headed to Louisville, Kentucky as the next stop on our east-to-west nut cracking’ fest. As someone who hasn’t spent much time at all outside of the northeast, I can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds. Until next time, Nutty Buddies!
Cashew later,
Legume Liam

Mr. P Visits D.C.
What's up, nutty buddies! It's Sweet 'N Crunchy Kota, coming to you live from Washington, D. C. We're in my favorite city for the first stop of our east to west nut crackin' fest! The east NUTmobile team took the Giant BBQ Battle by storm along with the Wienermobile this past weekend.
Tumblr media
I lived in D.C. last summer, so I spent my day off catching up with some friends and taking in some awesome sights on the National Mall. One of those sights was an early 20th century cast-iron Mr. Peanut statue on display in the Smithsonian Museum of American History. It was incredible to see such an early piece of Mr. Peanut's history. This statue was originally displayed on a Planters' factory fence post!
Tumblr media
Mr. Peanut was born in 1916. He was designed by 14-year-old schoolboy Antonio Gentile, who submitted his drawing as part of a contest to come up with the Planters mascot. Since then, the great legume has gone through over a dozen evolutions and redesigns--but he always maintains his great personality and dapper manner of dress!
Seeing such an early version of Mr. Peanut really drove home exactly how much history is behind Planters. I'm ready for a year of infiNUTe fun spreading smiles across the country and adding to the history of Planters and Mr. Peanut!
Cashew on the road,
Sweet 'N Crunchy Kota

That’s a Wrap
Life in a nutshell has been one big adventure. Personally, I have seen over 32 states, countless cities and I have made so many new nutty buddies. We have traveled from New York City to Los Angeles and we have seen everything in between in one short beautiful year. I will always remember the immediate head turn and waves from all of Mr. Peanut’s fans and I will never forget those moments on the road where all we wanted to do was freeze time because life was so Nuttastic!
There are three experiences on the road that I will never forget. Number one, the Macy’s parade. The whole day was filled with pure happiness and excitement and even when we were faced with the challenges of driving through America’s biggest city all we could do was smile because we knew we would personally wave to over a million people in the parade. Mr. Peanut also had an especially good time at the parade because he got to show off his favorite dance move, the dab. He even won a shorty award for the 2016 Gif of the year. Pretty nutty right?
Another experience that my team always cracks up about was seeing Jay Leno on the highway in LA for the second time this year except this time he was waving at us instead of the other way around. My partner Ko-Ko Nutty Katie spotted it from a mile away and we could not stop laughing because the entire day we felt like true shellebrities.
Getting to meet diehard Mr. Peanut fans and people who are seeing the Nutmobile for the first time is what makes this job so amazing. Someone once told me that he loved the Nutmobile because we have the ability to make someone smile just by turning a corner. These words have stuck with me because that is what life is all about and being able to make people happy everyday for a living is a dream that I never want to wake up from. It has been an honor to work for a brand that prides themselves on making people happy.
Our year long road trip has given me the tools I need to overcome any obstacle in life. Being on the road for an entire year teaches you flexibility in any given situation. It also teaches you the importance of teamwork and sometimes when your team is really great they become your family. (I am looking at you Honey Roasted Harrison, Lightly salted Lexi and Ko-ko Nutty Katie) This year has also taught me how to communicate to any audience anywhere anytime. These skills do not come easily but with practice and an honest team things get easier and nuttier.
You peanut butter believe that class V has some great friends to meet and some nutty adventures to be had. This year is all it is cracked up to be and more because driving the Nutmobile is not just a job but also an experience that none of us will ever forget. Thank you class IV for the best year of my life and thank you Planters for introducing me to 8 other nuts that will be my peanut pals for life. Cashew Later!

Mr. Peanut Helps Pack Meals for Rise Against Hunger
Hey There Nutty Buddies!
We recently had the best experience with some nutty Kraft Heinz employees! With the help of our partners at Rise Against Hunger, our Bentonville, AR team rose to the challenge of packing 25,000 meals... in 4 hours! Mr. Peanut had a shell of a time welcoming the enthusiastic volunteers who were eager to get crackin’ on the packing. Rise Against Hunger set up an assembly line of stations where the volunteers spread out and took their positions. At the sound of the music, our peanut party commenced and the rice and soy went sailing into the vacuum-seal bags.

After the first 15 minutes, Mr. Peanut was invited to the front of the room to ring the ceremonial gong, signifying that the hard-working volunteers reached the first 1,000 meals!
In the end, Kraft Heinz exceeded their goal of 25,000 meals and had quite the shellebration with NUTmobile tours!
Thank you to the awesome Kraft Heinz team and Rise Against Hunger for the nut-ritious meals that will make their way to Honduras!
Peace & Peanuts,

What Type of Planters Nut Are YOU?
Shell-o there, my fellow Planters fa-nut-ics!
The NUTmobile is essentially a giant, peanut-shaped lighthouse—a nutty beacon that draws in every Planters fan that catches sight of the massive legume. When people come over to talk to us, a pretty common greeting we receive is, “You drive that?! You must be nuts!” Of course we are! Being nuts is something Peanutters are very proud of. After all, everyone is a little bit nutty, right?
Planters has SO many irresistibly delicious types of nuts. Have you ever stopped in the middle of the snack nut aisle and wondered, ”If I was a Planters nut, what type of nut would I be?”
…No? Just me? Well, I’m sure you are a little curious now. Take the quiz below to answer the age-old question: What Type of Planters Nut Are You?

Over the past ten months, the NUTmobile has given me the opportunity to see and learn so much about Planters, the country, and myself. One thing that has always been true is that Planters is a family brand. I’ve heard countless stories from people who have fond memories of their grandparents always having Planters in the house or their parents sending in for them to receive a Mr. Peanut plastic bank. And Planters has continued through the years to carry the ideal of family. The NUTmobile has even brought my family to me!
Tumblr media
As I’m from Philadelphia and currently touring the West Coast, I’m quite far from home and while I’ve loved everywhere we’ve been and the events we’ve done, it’s always nice to have a touch of home every once in awhile. Just two weeks ago, my mom was able to visit when we were out in San Diego, CA and it was such a thrill to have that touch of home back with me! We had a television interview while she was there and she got the opportunity to stand behind the scenes while we shared the NUTmobile on camera live with the San Diego area.  We explored the beaches, the city, and enjoyed some much-needed family time. She was able to spend time with my fellow co-workers and friends who have become my own sort of family while I am on the road.
Tumblr media
With only two months left on these crazy year long tour, I am thrilled that the NUTmobile and Planters has maintained its family ideals in a completely unique way. It’s turned coworkers into family and brought my family to me no matter where I might be. Everyday we bring a little bit of fun and joy to people all across the country and its nice that the NUTmobile can bring that back to us as well.
Tumblr media
Stay Nutty,
Koko-nutty Katie

Dogs of the NUTmobile
Traveling across the country in the NUTmobile gives us Peanutters and fa-nut-astic opportu-nutty to see some pretty crazy things and meet amazing people. However, one thing that has truly surprised me about touring with the NUTmobile is seeing how many dogs go nuts for the NUTmobile. People bring their canine companions to see Mr. Peanut and the NUTmobile all the time and we can’t get enough of them!
None of the Peanutters travel with a pet so these encounters give us a great chance to play with animals as much as we can handle!
We’ve seen big dogs.
Tumblr media
And we’ve seen small dogs.
Tumblr media
We’ve seen puppies.
Tumblr media
And we’ve seen fluffies.
Tumblr media
We’ve seen excited dogs.
Tumblr media
And we’ve seen the best of good boys.
Tumblr media
During our time on the road the Peanutters are fortu-nut enough to interact with man’s best friends of so many different shapes and sizes. If you ever want to see the NUTmobile don’t hesitate to bring your furry, four legged friend along. We’ll make sure they have a great time!
Cashew nuts time,
Salted Caramel Colin

Most Valuable Peanut
Mr. Peanut loves his appearances at NHL (Nut-ional Hockey League, amirite?) events, especially because he gets to hand out peanut samples so hockey fans can harness the power of the peanut as everyone enjoys the gaming festivities.
Recently, we were in Pittsburgh, PA, where Mr. Peanut--along with our Hotdogger friends in the Wienermobile--all got a chance to spread smiles throughout Heinz Field at the NHL Stadium Series!
Tumblr media
While we were at the game, Mr. Peanut gave out many high fives among the crowd, and handed out ple-nutty of peanuts.
Tumblr media
As our hockey heroes got ready for the big game ahead, Mr. Peanut roughed up his style for a moment, to join in on the cashewal fun!
Tumblr media
In a nutshell, Mr. Peanut and the Peanutters had a shell of a time meeting hockey and peanut fa-nut-ics alike and walnut forget the memories we made.
Tumblr media
Keep savoring the moment my friends,
Vee-stachio

Run Mr. Peanut Run!
With 101 years of wisdom, Mr. Peanut knows that the best way to nut come down with the winter blues is by embracing the chill with some outdoor fun! Although he was only in the city of Rochester, Minnesota, for a weekend, our favorite legume wanted to make as much of an impact in the local commun-nutty as possible. Rochester is known as the “Medical City,” so you peanut butter believe that the Peanutter crew was ecstatic to take part in the 15th Annual Frozen Goose Race benefiting childhood cancer research at the Mayo Clinic and family support group Brighter Tomorrows. As you can see, the skies were as bright as the future during the entire race.
Tumblr media
Mr. Peanut was shelling out waves and salt-utations to the runners as they embarked on the trail. With the energizing power of the peanut cheering them on, race participants were all having a shell of a time enjoying the winter air while raising money for an ex-shell-ent cause!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After either running a 5K or 10K, all of the runners were feeling a bit like roasted nuts. Luckily Mr. Peanut was there to hand out packets of salted peanuts to give everyone some protein to help recover. Overall, the race raised a shell-shocking amount: over $6,000! While the Peanutters and Mr. Peanut were only in town for three nights, everyone made remarkable memories to last a legume lifetime.
Sending Roasted Regards from Rochester,
Dani-Shell

Tumblr media
Since the holidays have ended it is important to reflect back on one’s year.
Mr. Peanut had a shell of a time roaming the United States with his Peanutter companions and could nut be more thankful for all of the fans that he has met along the way!
From Antelope Island, Utah, to Suffolk, Virginia, Mr. Peanut shell-ebrated every day and every city with the same fa-nut-astic attitude as he did 100 years ago.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We are all ab-shell-utely thrilled to continue our east to west nut cracking fest in 2017!
Cashew out there peanut fans!!
