Almost forgot to bring Mr. Lee home.

WIP-Lee Dong Wook
Thanks to tumblr, I launched the game last weekend, trying to create something to prove that pitheinfinite is still alive. So here it is. The first sim I made with my new PC.
Lee Dong Wook is a well-known Korean actor, his latest work is the Disney+ Series A Shop for Killers (Korean: 킬러들의 쇼핑몰).
The reason that I post these before taking my og account back is the amazing skin made by @golyhawhaw. So realistic, but not too much. Perfect without editing.
BTW, Win 11+EA app+20G CC = 💥💥😵😱😨😭
Crawling back inch by inch. FIGHTING!

Quick Life Update
In short: super busy, finally cleaned up my parents' old place, got rid of all the useless waste accumulated during the past 20+ years. Hope the buyer shows up soon so we can afford a new flat.
I desperately need a break, but my friend's web forum is coming up next month. Fortunately, while preparing for the event, I do have some fun with AI generic image. This is the first time I tried this trendy AI function, so far it's really fascinating. The creativity of AI amazed me. It's really nice to try something new.🥳️
My friend's forum that I've been helping out with focuses on digital fashion, hence I tried some different concepts here, like realistic models with digital elements/AR gadget, and Subject vs. Avatar. I'd like to share with you my first batch of results since I don't have time for sims lately. Hope you like them!😘

Thank You 💜💜💜
This was supposed to be posted right after my account got restored, however, I 've been super busy since last Wednesday. Sorry for being so late.
I am so so so grateful that so many simblrs helping out in such a short notice. To be honest, I didn't expect so many people, both old and new friends, willing to help out a simblr who's been on hiatus for the past 3 years when they read such a post at the end of the weekend. Thanks to your prompt actions and helpful experience-sharing, the tumblr staff finally make things right in 3 days. Thank you so much!
I thought about giving up since my family remained my top priority at least for the next 3~6 months. But losing @pis3story would be a great pity. The story blog collected works from many simlrs who kindly took the time and effort to make a intro post of their story specifically for pis3story. I felt really bad if I just let go without any fight.
Now the story blog is back, thanks to you.😘
I will try to keep reblogging for pis3story when I have time to browse through my dashboard, and make a better use of my lost-and-found account. Before the episode, I didn't realized what "pitheinfinite" means to me and how much I missed the community. Even though I won't have much time left for the game (We're looking for a better place for my mom. Housing hunting and packing have become the most important parts of my daily schedule), I'd like to try to be more present on tumblr, checking in the community more frequently. I can't make a promise, but I will certainly try.🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♀️

Help Me Take My Account Back
Hi, this is Pi, Pitheinfinite, the founder of @pis3update and @pis3story & the joint founder of ts3creatorscave.
About a month ago, my original account @pitheinfinite got suspended by tumblr with no reason provided. I followed the protocol and filed my complaint but my patience got no reward. No response. Nothing At All.
It's time to take some real actions I think. Please help me by urging @staff to give my account back. Even though I've been on hiatus for quite some time and still don't have much time for the game or the community at the moment, I want to keep the place I've built for years, knowing that I always have a home here to go to.
Besides, my story sideblog pis3story, unlike pis3update, has only one member/admin, and will go down with my original account.
Please help me. Reblog this post and tag the staff, asking them to make things right. It's those porn zombie that they should go after, not the long term users. Thank you💜

A few things need to be clarified
I was looking for some blender tutorial this morning and surprised to find this tutorial by @simvaultthings. We happened to take the same approach to make Mask with Blender. The main difference is simvaultthings took it even further with Specular while I stressed more on how converter can apply this method. We also used different versions of Blender which is good, meaning more people can benefit from the tutorials.
Therefore, I will not take off my tutorial. Please use my version as a visual supplementary to simvaultthings' thorough and detailed step-by-step guide.
For the record, my tutorial clips were actually recorded in 2020/11, but I kept them to myself and went hiatus afterwards. The problem is I didn't do a decent search before I made the tutorial. I wasn't aware of the other version when I post it. It's not my intention to offend anyone or cause any problem. That's why I reblogged again with updated clarification. Thanks for your understanding.

How to Generate Mask with Blender
A quick way to help TS3 creators to arrange the mask with immediate result so they don't have to adjust everything back and forth. Especially useful with mesh of details or complicated structures.
Demo with both Blender 2.78 & 2.90
Please be noted: This video tutorial is not a step by step one. It will only show you how to use the material to generate the mask for recolorable obj. Basically it's similar to the process of baking multiplier with blender, only this time, we bake the "material" (diffuse). I will not introduce or explain RBG mask and how to bake multiplier, or even how to make your cc recolorable in the video.
For the color materials, you can download mine or create on your own. Just make sure the colors are correct.
>>My Mask Group
It's been ages since I release anything. Besides, the video was recorded before my latest hiatus. Please let me know if there's anything wrong.

As much as I love the recolorable option in TS3, to a certain extent, I can understand why some converters wouldn't do so. The UV map of TS4 CC could be problematic and out of proportion. It could be difficult for the converter to add a mask with decent result. UV map revamping is hardly an option since it could lead to a comprehensive revamping on all the other textures like multiplier & specular map.
Another issue is the challenge to generate the mask on some very detailed TS4 CC because the original creator, unlike TS3 creators, don't have such a consideration in mind while arranging the UV.
As for the second issue, I actually find a relatively easy fix by generating the mask map with Blender. I've recorded the steps but still need some time to make it an understandable tutorial. I'll make a post when the video is ready.
Let's show that TS3 core feature called Create-a-Style some love 💜
The CaSt feature is one of the most unique and defining features of the Sims 3. Let's use it to our advantage!
As a pattern creator, I am counting on the ability to recolor CC so that my patterns can be widely used. Making patterns is a pretty lonely road these days (it's more of an overgrown path, hardly anyone travels it anymore). While most likely not the only culprit, the rise of non-recolorable CC (read: patterns cannot be applied or look terrible) definitely plays a role in this development. I admit that I sometimes worry about my place among fellow creators, should this trend continue to gain momentum. Patterns are at the heart of the Sims 3 and there are only a few pattern creators left. It would be sad to see the numbers dwindle even more. It would mean that a lot of creative potential in our games will vanish. Inside the Sims 3, patterns are an important asset to make our creative visions come true, as they can completely transform the look of most objects (and clothes, accessories, walls, you name it). As part of a community, creators have the opportunity to lift each other up, and object/clothing creators can help fellow pattern creators feel valued by including a recolorable swatch (and tidying up that UV mask so they will look good, too 🤪). Furthermore, creators have the opportunity to work hand in hand to enhance the value/usability of their CC for all fellow simmers. So let's do this! If you are a CC creator and have not made your creations recolorable, but are interested in doing so, or in improving your skills, why don't we have a conversation about it? Let's get behind the mystery of recolorable CC. We can put our heads together as a community and share resources, tips, tutorials, and workflows to teach each other how to make RGB masks, edit multipliers, bake AO maps, and straighten those UVs. If you are an experienced creator and are open to sharing your process on how to make CC recolorable, or simply know some great tutorials, please feel free to share in the comments or reblog with info! Feel free to post your questions or concerns too so we may find common ground and appreciate each other's efforts.
Let's make a positive change together 🙏

Hi, there. It's been a long time.
Life update and thoughts under the cut
For the past few months, I've been through some darkest moments of my life. To sum up- 'cuz I'd rather not walking through all that terrible things again-Rest in peace, Dad. And fu*k you abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Don't worry. I'm feeling much better now. At least no crying-all-the-time, no depression. My social energy remains quite low however.
The good news is, at least I've gained some motive and interest to create cc again. 'course I mean after I figure out how I did that back then. I have some unfinished projects and even tutorials which I don't fully understand now. Feeling a bit like someone waking up from a long term coma.
It might take me some time to sort things out. I know you kind souls will always wait for me. If you're reading this, thank you my friends. I'm so grateful that you're still around after all these times, particularly on such an unstable platform.
In fact, I'm really surprised at how creative and powerful these new mods can be. I've tried the smooth mod and search mod by lazyduchess so far and they are TRUE LIFESAVER. I've also tried Frankie's masterpiece Rosewood Park and took the above pics tho it's almost unrecognizable.
Huge shout to people still creating for this game. Thanks to your contributions, I feel like I've found a brand new game with so many things to explore. I am so excited to see these developments within the community.

DigiFashion Forum 2023
Hihi, sorry for being away for so long. I've been working my a*s off lately 'cause I'm helping a friend to host an online forum. The event will be live stream on Youtube on March 29, well, in 6 hrs! XD. I just don't have time to write a decent tumblr post.😑😑😑
We have invited several outstanding leaders in the industry to share their insights on digital fashion. As a veteran TS3 player, I personally find this quite interesting. What we put on our sims is now something people have their avatars wear in Metaverse and it could be something duplicating/inspired by the real fashion world or something we can never have in reality. If you find what I wrote interesting, you might wanna join the event.
Check out the official site for further details and register (a simple process to help us screen the audience on the YT steam, and it's completely free of charge!) This event is not limited to industrial professionals. Anyone wants to know more about this emerging trend is welcome to join. See you then! 😉

Hey sorry it took so long. I've checked the file and found some issues with meshes for low level of detail. Maybe that's why the cc went invisible in your game. Please try the fixed version **HERE** and let me know if it works. Thanks!
Hi im having trouble with your campervan Washer/1149/functional. while i can find it under buy mode just fine it's invisable once bought.
Hihi, not sure what went wrong, probably the bone assignment. Unfortunately I won't be able to fix this soon. Please look for other alternatives instead. Sorry for all the inconvenience.🙏

My thoughts on Shang Simla
Thanks @thebleedingwoodland for tagging me in their posts here and here. Unfortunately I don't have much time atm, probably can't contribute much to the discussion. I'll try my best to explain my thoughts in the easiest and quickest way.
First, I never held much expectation for EA. Shang Simla is more like a friendly gesture to include Asian/Oriental cultures into Sims3 world. However, I never regard Shang Simla as a Chinese world, let alone any specific period. The minute I saw the torii ⛩️ とりい icon, as a Taiwanese visiting Japan many times, I knew Shang Simla would be a hybrid of most ancient (North East) Asian cultures even before sending my sims there. However, I don't think people back in 2009 had such high awareness or recognition for other cultures as we do today. They simply projected their impressions for the eastern world onto Shang Simla. So I would rather take this as a chance to introduce the right knowledge to simmers from other parts of the world.
What EA tried to present in Shang Simla is an ancient world, so honestly I don't blame them to provide the braid hairstyle from Qing dynasty. Yes, it is a symbol of repression, but it is also a historical fact. That's what people during that period of time would look like.
As for the outfit, honestly I think it's too much to ask, considering its 4000 year-long history and all the complicated details.
Tumblr media
Yep, and that just covers the most basic types, there are numerous variations based on the occasion/age/social status/occupation...etc.
If you're wondering where those fancy outfits you saw on TV drama or games are, I would say they belong to the fantasy genre, like:
Tumblr media
Note: for illustration only.
If you want to create a sims3 story with solid historical background, not fantasy or fictional, DON'T use these sources as your reference. Try googling artworks from that period, or related historical drama, those authentic ones.
Also, it's really important to notice the difference between Hanfu 漢服, Wafuku わふく and Hanbok한복. I'm no expert at these fields so I would only provide here the most basic types to give you a rough idea:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Ts3 CC creators I recommend include but not limit to:
Chinese: M&T 模拟人生单纯蛋糕店(M&T SimsCakeStore)/ 清霜童子@qingshuangtongzi
Japanese: kewai-dou / @m0m0-ka / @murfeelee / noiranddarksims
Korean: @amethyst-sims / ghostsyj
As for the martial arts outfit, the difference lies more on the sport events than nationality since there are corresponding uniforms now. For instance:
top to bottom: Judo柔道 / Karate空手道 / Taekwondo 태권도 / Tai Chi 太極 / Kung fu 功夫裝
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, the sleeve-less kungfu clothes EA provided is a big no-no, a modernized version apparently.
Tumblr media
Last but not least, during the ancient period, Chinese culture had great influence over the neighboring countries including Korea and Japan. That's why you may find it very difficult to tell which from which sometimes. Hope the illustrations above can help.
To be honest, I rarely let my sims visit Shang Simla. It's a weird world to me. Too much nonsense I'm afraid. Most of the time, I tend to build my own version, with specific period and custom content to make it more authentic and realistic.
Oh and DRAGON! Almost forgot. I think this is simply because THERE ARE TWO KINDS of DRAGON. One spits fire while the other controls the rain, basically two different species I believe :D
Western dragon VS Eastern dragon
Tumblr media
Gonna stop right here before making this post too long to read. Let me know if there's any questions. 😘💜
*Correction- Shang Simla is supposed to be a modern Chinese world, not an ancient one as I previously thought. I don't think of it as a modern world probably because, as we all know, modern life for Chinese people are not that different from the western one. In fact, Shang Simla should look much more westernized/modernized to reflect reality, even for a rural area. Besides, in the modern times only farmers wear bamboo hats. I can tell which hanfu style implies which period easily but I just can't really identify what period Shang Simla should belong to. To me, it's just a modern world with some randomly chosen Chinese / Asian / oriental elements.

How did you get into making CC content? How long did it take to get to the level you’re at now? And what programs do you use? I want to start but I’m so intimidated. Then I saw all your cc and realized how much potential sims 3 has to be modded in really creative ways.
I play medieval style and it’s hard for me to find cc, so I really want to make my own. I noticed some glitches in others cc that I’m confused about and want to know how to avoid it. Like beds that look really warped when it’s unmade.
HiHi sorry it took me ages to reply.
I use Blender to create 3D models and other necessary tools to import the meshes into the game. My real-life occupation and the academic training I received have nothing to do with the skills required to make cc and yet I can still managed to make it. You'll be fine as long as you have the commitment to learn and overcome the overwhelming challenges at the early stage. I have to admit it won't be easy at the beginning and everything looks so complicated, repetitive and tedious. But you'll get used it once you learn the trick. My suggestion would be to focus on one category or item, like clothing/hair/furniture/pose, anything you really want to have in game. Maybe start with sth small and follow the tutorials step by step. Eventually you'll understand which part decides what function/effect. Then you can try more advanced items or categories. Fixing existent glitches could be useful too. Hope this helps and look forward to you work! Good luck! 💜

I'm probably the last one to learn this: Lana CC Find is back (since Feb 2021) and now called "LLAMA CC FINDS" with changed url (sssvitlans->sssvitlanz) while another one called "Lana CC Find" is running by another group of people, among whom no one is Lana...??
And the twitter of the original Lana has stopped updating since 2018?
What's going on here? Am I missing/misreading something here???? 😵
