Mactan Shrine: Where Magellan Met His End

My first visit to Cebu nakabisita sa dalawang monumento ng magkalaban na sina Magellan at Lapulapu.

Magellan led the first Spanish expedition that reached the archipelago that will be later on called as Las Islas Filipinas. He allied with Rajah Humabon of Cebu and fought Lapulapu and other chiefs of Mactan Island in the first instance that a European power involved itself with the local power struggle in the archipelago.

This monument is the one beheaded by a lightning. It was fully restored. That's not all since the city government is active in restoring the heritage house in the poblacion.
