i really like the definition of “adult human female” because it says “thats all it is. its not femininity, makeup, submissiveness, softness, anything. all it is is biology. the rest is up to the individual”

there’s something pretty sickening going on when people use trans murder statistics to convince trans women that they’re almost certainly going to die and to gain political leverage and not only don’t do anything to fight the sex industry but actively defend it and silence everyone (including trafficking survivors) who says a word against it. this whole anti-radical politics is so disingenuous and does absolutely nothing to help people who face anti-trans violence. actually, it does so, so much harm and i’m truly disgusted by it

Even when there are 2 bathrooms and they're both gender neutral, having one with urinals and one without means men can really walk into whichever one and not give a shit. Women won't go into the men's one, at least not very often. This gives men a private space to do their business, but still women are left with nothing.

bear with me because this post might not make total sense, more of a half-baked thought i had.
My boyfriend works in a dive bar and was telling me earlier this week that one of the two toilets in the women's bathroom was out of order, that the owner was dragging his feet about getting a plumber in to fix it because he wants to save money. He then goes on a rant about how dumb the boss is being, that all the women who come to the bar tend to gravitate towards and hang out in the bathroom, and that if they didn't have a functioning bathroom for women, women will stop coming.
I agree, and say, "yeah! women love bar bathrooms. they'll definitely stop coming if word spreads that the bathroom's out of order," but it got me thinking over the past week. You hear men joke about how women can't go to a public restroom without a girlfriend to bring along to chat with, or a group of girls to go with, and while men seem perplexed and pretend to not understand why this is, the answer is pretty obvious, isn't it?
Women love public female-only bathrooms BECAUSE they're sex segregated. We gravitate to the ladies room on nights out BECAUSE there's no men. BECAUSE it's a safe space away from the prying eyes of men. A place to chat and discuss things in private, a place to warn women if we notice a man being overbearing and too persistant, a place to speak frankly about stories we have about certain men in the club/bar in order to warn ladies who don't know. The only place in the bar where you can escape the eyes and advances of creepy men.
Why wouldn't women flock to the bathrooms? It's our only escape in bar scenarios to speak frankly with other women without the males overhearing. Yet men will claim it's silly for women to go in groups to the restroom, ignore the list of reasons why we do, and then also have the nerve to try and force businesses to make the women's room a unisex bathroom while the mens room remains untouched.
Once women's restrooms become unisex restrooms, which is already happening in certain businesses and schools and bars btw, you can absolutely guarantee many women will not feel comfortable going there, and therefore take their business elsewhere. Feminine men are not women. Gay men are not women. Sex segregated spaces are so important for women to feel safe, and to feel as though they have a safe place to escape, even if just for a few minutes.
The universal trope of women going to restrooms with their girl friends rather than alone is there for a reason. The lack of males and the privacy from males. Yet these worms-for-brains men can't think for more than ten seconds to realize this fact, and instead they act as though we women are just being gossiping, frivolous, self-centered babies who are incapable or too scared of just heading to the rest room alone.

Trans people are really willing to make 50% of the population uncomfortable to protect the gender feelings of 0.4% of the population. This is a post about gender neutral bathrooms, which, as I discovered this week, are very real.

being a woman isn’t some ~magical spiritual experience~ that you just feel in your soul and know to be true. like i don’t wake up in the morning and think “wow i am such a woman today” but when I’m trying to quietly maneuver a menstrual cup into my vagina in a public restroom I sure do feel the reality of my femaleness

No, I'm not saying women/ofab people who create proship art are responsible for rape/pedophilia/incest. What I am saying is every time you put that out into the world, you are desensitizing yourself and others to it little by little. Every time you criticize someone for hating proship art, you are making them doubt themselves, making them wonder whether that very real, very understandable guttural response to seeing such horrific things portrayed in such an innocent light is reasonable or not. Fiction cannot be separated from reality, you are not only responsible for yourself. Keep your rape porn to yourself, or accept it when people are disgusted and horrified by it. They have a right to be.
And yeah, men who create proship art do or at least would commit those acts if they were permitted to do so without consequence. They may not have done it yet but they can and someday probably will. Men who create proship art are absolutely reprehensible. Women who do so appall me but are not nearly as dangerous as the men, and I am fully aware of that.

“people are violent” you know what’s crazy is I’ve generally never feared being attacked by a woman in 99.9% of the situations where I was afraid to be attacked by a “person”

If I did hypothetically wake up without a body one morning, and I was hypothetically allowed to choose a new one, yes I'd choose to be the ideal hunky male, who never faced any sort of misogyny and has all kinds of privilege. That does not change what my body is and always will be in this life. I'm still an average sized gremlin with big boobs and curves for days. Still navigated society with this body. Just sayin...

my answer to the mighty terf-killer question "if u woke up tomorrow without a body would u still be a woman and why?" is simply no? lol. ofc i dont believe in the concept of souls, i am my body, but lets say for the sake of their point u did capture my consciousness into some hard drive. then u wouldnt even have a human being so no i wouldnt be a woman

It's just healthy boundaries not wanting to let someone see you naked or not wanting to commit to someone when you don't know them well. It's healthy to talk it out with someone, know their goals in life, etc before starting something. It's especially healthy to know them inside and out before you engage in as personal an act as sex with them.
I swear some gendies are so immersed in fanfic culture that they don't recognize the difference between fictional relationships and reality.

her name's Sania Khan. she's a Pakistani woman and on her account she talks a lot about the misogyny their culture's based on and she encourages woman to be more independent and free. she talks about her ex husband, how he abused her, how she's scared of him, how her family doesn't support the divorce decision and gives her lectures about stop talking about it. she even made a video about how she's gonna get killed because of this, but people told her to "quit being dramatic". she got shot and killed by her ex husband (a note, she's 29 and he's 36). she got killed because she knew what she deserved. she didn't obey her husband. she didn't just take the abuse. she walked away. she got a divorce. she didn't just "shut up about it". she talked about her struggles and let women know they're not alone. she's not on this world anymore because a man thought he's entitled to her life.
