We have this distante relative who’s visiting us and omg, the things he is saying about eritreans worries me (btw he is eritrean himself.) He is saying things like “eritrean muslims who were born in Eritrea have inherited the christian traditions and I don’t even consider them muslims. They follow the habesha traditions which are against islam more than they follow islam itself.” I hate how eritreans who were raised in Sudan think that they are so much better than eritreans in Eritrea. Sudanese-eritreans don’t even identify as “habesha” because they don’t want to associated with habesha people. But did y’all forget that one of prophet Muhammed saw’s best friend was actually a habesha man named Bilal, who was a slave from Ethiopia,  which our beloved prophet saved? So I don’t wanna hear things like “muslim eritreans aren’t habesha” or some other stupid shit like that. I hate how some muslim eritreans think that they are superior or something, especially the ones in Sudan.  

This btw is the reason why I hate hanging out with the majority of the religious muslims. I swear y’all are more judgemental than atheists, dragging each other down and shit. Work on your own deen and stop critisizing other muslims. Advice them, and leave it to Allah if they don’t apply what you said to their lives.

The infamous Cinema Impero, located on right in the heart of Godena Harent, downtown Asmara. Built by the Italians in 1937 during the colonization. A lot of the historical buildings we see today in Asmara are during the era of the Italian Colonization. 

The theater is still in use, rather it be as a movie theater, or used as a theater for infamous plays done throughout the year in Asmara. Another usage of this monumental theater is during sporting events, soccer games like the European Cup, African Cup, or the World Cup will be shown in the theater for a small price. And right next to the shop is a small ice cream parlor and some great cafes.
