One of the rad things @surferswallnz did with the editing of NZ Surf The Collection Volume II is to keep the photo editing open right to the last minute. It meant we got images in from only a few months ago. Like this spread of @billystairmand, I really like the four page feature, Bill tutors on how he approaches lofting high. Another favourite from an epic day of waves in the South Bay. @dunekennings our consecutive 3x Auckland Champ decided to charge the rights while everyone else went left. Here is another firm favourite of my images used in the new book NZ Surf The Collection VII. It’s @sammathers and part of the feature of Sam as one of the Surfing artists in the book. Truth be told the feature on Sam could have just been on the incredible life the Raglan surfer has lived thus far. This shot was hard earned, a big swim on a solid day in a shifty line up, but Sam got it done. One of Christchurch’s red zones. This once was a resthome, now a road to nowhere. Slowly the suburbs in the red zones are being made into nice parklands, they still look eerie as you can see old fruit trees that once would have been the household pride and joy.
