A quick update to this moribund Tumblr page. Pex Lives IS still putting out episodes - we’d been recording very erratically for a bit but we’re back baby!!!!  - and the Episode Master List IS now up-to-date on episodes. Kevin will endeavor to keep the master list updated, but your best bet for new Pex Lives goodness is to bookmark our Libsyn page, follow us on Twitter, or keep subscribed to us on your podcast delivery vehicle of choice. If you search for “Pex Lives” we should come up! See you all in the future! Or past, as the case may be.

Episode 39: The Tenth Planet, or, It's far from being all over...
With an ailing Pex Lives crew, battling the elements, the general and precipitous downward spiral of what has laughingly been called the civilised world, uncooperative technology, and a pair of immune systems that have crapped out just when we needed them most, we have lashed ourselves to the wheel and sailed on into the raging storm of knackered nautical cliches. Kevin had to phone in his contribution because his laptop wouldn't connect to the internet so the sound quality isn't what we like it to be, but it is still listenable. We also went considerably shorter than we usually do. Shortening it further, hundreds of consumptive sounding coughs were edited out from the file, but some have slipped through.
For all that as a disclaimer, we stand by this as something worth your time. It's probably the most-Doctor Who focused thing we've ever done, if that's what you like. Here we talk about William Hartnell's swansong as the Doctor and a little about the news that Peter Capaldi is leaving the revived show this year.
Enjoy!

Pex Lives Supplemental: What is to be Done?
Kevin is joined in the Pex Lives recording bunker with friends-of-the-show Gene and Kim to begin answering the question: after the election, what is to be done?
A statement From Gene, Kim and Kevin:
We should not only organize on the basis of reacting to events as they transpire, but we must take the initiative and not allow them to keep us on the back foot. We will defend our existing gains by demanding more, by rejecting complacency. We need to build a movement around those demands in order to create the conditions for the new society. We should not stand for the mere restoration of liberalism, but for supplanting it. We should seek to secure not just the familiar rights, but real liberation founded on material equality. The immediate, short-term struggles must be understood in light of the long struggle. We have to demand what they cannot deliver.
Amelioration is our priority, but we must not substitute reformism for reform. we have no interest in rescuing the Democratic Party from itself. We can use the party for as much as it is useful, but we must remember it is not a neutral tool, and neither is the state. These are organs of the ruling class. Their very structure presupposes rule by the capitalist class. So we must take care.
We don’t have all the answers. We can see the broad sweep, but We're just as disoriented as anyone. We may come across as alarmist in the podcast. We don't mean to. We think we should prepare for the worst and consider what we’d do if it came to that, but we can't tell the future, and there are reasons to be optimistic.
We also don't want to get anybody killed or hurt. Assessing risk and figuring out what you can do—that’s not for us or anyone to do for you. Just remember that whatever you can contribute will be useful, and stay safe. Your local organizations will probably have better ideas than we do.
Oh, and one last thing: a shoutout to @PissPigGrandDad, who’s fighting for the revolution in Rojava. Solidarity with the YPG.

Episode 36: The Curse of Peladon, or, #imwithher
Look! Just when you thought we were down and out, we leap off the canvas and throw a few more hits.
We spend our first half catching up, then have an extended chat about Kevin's hero Mike Love of the Beach Boys before dropping into ever cheerful Current Events. After that, we talk about a western from 1951 called the Furies and then just a little sprinkling of your Doctor Who content with the topical Curse of Peladon.
Enjoy.

Episode 33: Ghost Light, or, Wicked.
Kevin and James are joined by their friend Tomas to continue their dive into their dusty Westerns with a trio of John Ford pictures, before happily skipping toward the classic Sylvester McCoy serial Ghost Light!
The films discussed are:
Stagecoach (1939)
My Darling Clementine (1946)
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)
Additional Notes:
-As always, thanks so much to Adam WarRock for permission to use his fantastic “I Have Never Watched An Episode of Doctor Who in My Life“ as our theme tune. The song samples Aesop Rock’s ”Coffee“ which is also great, so check both out!
-Phil Sandifer writes about “Ghost Light” here.
-Jack Graham writes about “Ghost Light” here, and here.
-Need the DVD? As of this writing the DVD of “Ghost Light has gone out of print in North America, but you can find copies here if you don’t mind dropping ~$150 (hey, it’s a great story). U.K. residents should have a bit of an easier time and can find the DVD here.

Episode 32: The Gunfighters, or, Prey to every cliché-ridden convention of the American West.
Kevin & James kick off their Western series with a chat about the Gunfighters, a Dr. Who serial from '66. Before that, they have a great conversation about three Gary Cooper films.
High Noon (1952)
Man of the West (1958)
The Hanging Tree (1959)
Additional Notes:
