So I found Aaron Bushnell's reddit and went through his comments/posts. That young man was well read and stable as they can be. Nothing in his writings pointed to someone who was "unstable" or "brainwashed".
He held leftist and anarchist ideals. He belong to the ACAB subreddit. He recognized the evil of the US Military even though he himself was a part of it. He hated TERFS and called out fatphobia. He understood the dangers of white supremecy and the evils of capitalism.
He had a cat. He liked the show fleabag and played elden ring.
Apparently in his will he wants to leave any money in his name to palestinian relief funds. He was trying to find a new owner for his cat.
Rest in peace Aaron Bushnell. The world won't forget & we sure as fuck won't let the media paint you out to be some crazy conspiracy theorist who had no idea what he was doing.

Human shield … activist and photojournalist Tom Hurndall died while trying to help a young girl under fire. Photograph: Kay Fernandes/Reuters
Tom Hurndall: a remarkable man’s photographs of the Middle East
Peace activist Tom Hurndall died at 22 after being shot by an Israeli sniper. His images and articles, that grew in intensity as his journey became more difficult, are published in a new book
Tom Hurndall was a peace activist and an aspiring photojournalist. His photographs, alongside his journals, bear witness to the often terrible, sometimes uplifting, events he saw and experienced while living among families in Iraq, in a refugee camp in Jordan, and in the Gaza Strip. It was there on 11 April 2003 that he was shot in the head by an Israeli soldier while attempting to rescue a child who had been pinned down by gunfire. He died nine months later in hospital in London. He was 22…

GET KOSA TRENDING.
STOP SCROLLING NOW!
AS OF FEBRUARY 21ST, 2024, WE GOT FIVE DAYS UNTIL THE DAY OF DECISION OF THE KOSA BILL, WHICH WILL CAUSE MASS CENSORSHIP ROUND THE INTERNET IF PASSED. WE NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW ABOUT THIS AND CONTRIBUTE. I'M NOT GIVING UP ON YOU ALL.
(IMPORTANT UPDATE: Kosa will not necessarily pass on the 26th. It only has the support to pass in Senate, and we STILL HAVE TIME. That being said, time is of the essence.)
WE'RE DOWN TO THE WIRE BUT WE CAN'T GIVE UP YET. IF WE GIVE UP, EVERYTHING IS OVER. IF WE DON'T, AT LEAST WE HAVE A CHANCE.
I'M THE ONE WHO SOUNDED THE ALARM, AND I'M NOT GOING TO CURL UP AND DIE YET.
Reblog this post in every LEGAL way you can under the Tumblr guidelines with the appropriate tags. TELL AND TAG EVERYONE YOU KNOW, then add the tags to see below... and more if you can think of any complying.
Visit badinternetbills.com if you want to find a way to defeat KOSA. It WILL NOT take much of your time. Reblog with any other information or sources, too-- but make sure to reblog if you can.
Reblog if you support lgbtq+ content.
Reblog if you support questioning queer youth and/or abused youth getting the information they need.
Reblog if you support Ao3 and/or other sites that wholeheartedly preserve talentedly made media.
Reblog if you're going to repost this on other sites than Tumblr and spread the word across Twitter, Tik Tok, Pinterest, or elsewhere, alongside the link to badinternetbills.com.
Reblog if you think KOSA is unfair and shouldn't be anyone's problem -- including the adults ALL OVER THE DAMN EARTH forced to face the mass censorship it causes because "think of the American Children!".
Reblog if you support internet activism and Palestine.
Reblog if you hate fascism or censorship, and don't want actually serious and helpful conversations censored on the internet.
Reblog if you value the internet in any way at all whatsoever.
CHECK THIS PETITION, TOO! https://www.change.org/p/stop-the-kosa?recruiter=1331807538&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=sms&utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_initial&utm_term=psf&recruited_by_id=57368c40-d0fd-11ee-98f7-2175430f819f&share_bandit_exp=initial-36809664-en-US
(Also, please reblog with at least "stop kosa" as a tag and not "kosa". I made the mistake of not adding just "kosa" as a tag...)
We won't let this stand any longer. Let's start a riot and get this trending.

i dont think there is a word yet that can describe how absolutely vile israel is. they killed thirsty children by targeting a water tank.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
how inhumane do you have to be to support this, to fund this, to excuse this, to ignore this and pretend as if it isn’t going on?
* news was originally shared by Ramy Abdul, chairman of Euromed Human Rights Monitor
it is also not the first time Israel has targeted water tanks . this is how some Palestinians in Gaza get water supplies since the IDF threatens to shoot them.

I hope that when the day comes that Palestine is free, people don't expect everything to suddenly be alright overnight, because that won't be the end of it. There's this thing called intergenerational trauma that as an Indigenous person on Turtle Island, let me say, can fuck a People up for a long time. It will take generations to recover from such catastrophic and longstanding colonial violence. And when current leftist allies start back-peddling on their support and villainizing Palestinians if they aren't "perfect citizens" (a measurement that is highly westernized anyway), remember that trauma, especially on such a large scale, does things to people. What I'm saying is, the support shouldn't end there.

The idea has been circulating that northern Gaza is empty after a massive evacuation yesterday, but this is not true. This is propagated and supported by Israel so that they can freely commit atrocities in the north under the justification that no one there is a civilian. But there are still around 800,000 civilians in northern Gaza, and they are now facing increasing bombardment and starvation, with decreasing media coverage.
Most journalists who were in north Gaza have evacuated to the south, and that includes most or all of the best-known, English-speaking journalists with the highest follower counts. They are trying to share information from northern Gaza, but they already have a catastrophic situation to document in the south.
There are a few journalists and other social media users still in northern Gaza, but their accounts have a smaller following and they mostly post in Arabic, so the English-speaking world is not circulating their updates. These people have chosen to remain in extreme danger in order to document the ongoing atrocities in northern Gaza, but are receiving very little engagement with their content.
I will post the journalists and other Instagram users in north Gaza of whom I am aware. Please follow with them and engage with their content, so that the world doesn’t let Israel carry out genocide in northern Gaza in silence. I will add some translation resources/suggestions at the bottom of this post.
I will post Instagram usernames with links to their profiles, as well as provide their names if I can, as well as some details about who they are, from where in north Gaza they are posting, and details about what they’re saying. This is not a complete list, and there are a few people in this list who may not be in north Gaza, but I can’t distinguish their location and they’re sharing content from north Gaza. I apologize in advance for any and all errors I have made and will fix or update them as they appear to me. There are some on here who have not updated in a few days, but I’m keeping them up here until I’m reasonably sure they’ve left the north.
Journalists and other people posting from north Gaza as of Thursday December 21st:

tariq_al_deqes_ (Tariq Aldaqes)
belalmortaja (Belal Mortaja, web developer and journalist)
moazhosni1 (Moaz Hosni, filmmaker)
Resources:
on Instagram mobile, there is usually a button at the bottom of Arabic text on photos, stories, and bios that says “translate” and will translate the text into English. It’s not perfect, but you should get the general idea of what’s being said.
princekouta posts mostly in English, nearly all of his videos with updates from Al Shifa are in English.
Some of these posters, such as najjart_1, also post small blurbs in English describing their Arabic text and/or audio.
Sometimes on livestreams or posts in Arabic, if you ask in the comments, someone will summarize what the person is saying and translate it into English. Sometimes people will provide a translation without being asked, so check for one before asking. The op *may* also speak in English if they see your question, but do not count on it happening and absolutely do NOT pester them. Their internet access is extremely limited and they are stressed beyond human comprehension, they do not need entitled anglophones interrupting their updates with demands and tantrums. You can also record/download their livestreams, Stories, and Reels and, if you can POLITELY find someone who can translate Arabic to English, send it to them for translation.
Additionally, there’s a fantastic account called translating_gaza that translates videos from people in Gaza from Arabic into English. If you DM them a video and ask them to translate it, they may do so. Note that they are completely inundated with requests, are struggling with technical issues and IG censorship, and are a small purely volunteer team, and they cannot possibly translate every request they receive. Follow them regardless, because they are a fantastic resource for non-Arabic English speakers.
