terezi leaving to try to find vriska is one of the most emotional and impactful parts in homestuck to me even if it is a minor one that takes place at literally the very end. abandoning everyone and everything you know to try to save Her because the world isn't right without her. not being able to live in the universe you created because she isn't there. drifting aimlessly through an empty void and orbiting a black hole for years with no food is preferable to accepting that she might be lost forever. a girl who tried to build her persona on following logic and reasoning to form judgements, refusing to accept that vriska could be gone no matter how long she scours the empty shell of the afterlife. after everything they went through together, terezi went back to look for her, because to her there was no other option. i'm normal
Megalo Strikes Back - I Miss You - Earthbound 2012
From the collaborative EarthBound fan-album I was a part of a while back.
Clearly callback to the final boss theme in the original game, in both instrumentation and structure. I’m not as good at writing dissonant, alien metal, so I took a more melodic approach, integrating the low-intensity NES section into the rest of the song instead of dropping it once the guitars kick in. The melodic section is a little bit inspired by Malcolm Brown’s Rex Duodecim Angelus.
I snuck in some warping, pitch-bended bass notes like the original did. See if you can hear them at 1:09-1:15. Another little musical detail that I’m proud of is that I managed to re-use the sample from the guitar solo that plays on the opening Gas Station screen of the game.
The name is clearly a shout-out to Mother 2’s original subtitle: “Gyiyg Strikes Back!” It’s also a reference to Megalovania, the other boss song I made using EarthBound instrumentation for a ROM Hack I created during my junior year of High School.
You don't see transmen overwhelmingly bogarting their way into male spaces, locker rooms, group therapy, gay clubs, or demanding that males stop talking about their anatomy and life experiences. You don't see 5'4" transmen threatening to beat up 6' cismales in a bathroom, or trying to worm their way into men's shelters.
I encourage you to read the entire article, but consider the fact that a gender therapist over the course of fifteen years only declined treatment to one patient. One.
Yet when I talk about my friend who detransitioned, who was sexually assaulted and - by her own admission - should never have transitioned socially or surgically, people are quick to tell me that getting hormones and surgery is so difficult trans patients are forced to lie or use a script in order to obtain them.
And "it is out of their developmental range to understand the extent [of these medical interventions]" is absolutely horrifying.
