Revisting my writing and-
This chunk was surprisingly good~
“You saw what I did in the courtroom,” Henri continued. “I was able replenish my strength and stay strong longer than was possible.”
I bit my lip. “How were you able to do that?”
“I fed off of your energy.”
“Great, so I’m like a big battery for you to use?” I bit out, my anger quickly building once more.
“Exactly.”
I scowled at the vampire. “And you didn’t think to warn me about that bit of information when you Marked me? I passed out from the blood loss, Henri.”
“As I’ve already mentioned, I had no idea if the Mark would take hold at all.” Henri chuckled lightly. “Besides, you would’ve said no. I couldn’t take any chances of that.”
I crossed my arms. “All this time I spent time worrying that you had feelings for me…when you were really just using me. That makes me feel so much better.”
“It’s not just about control and power,” Henri sighed. “There might’ve been love between me and Giselle, but it was only real love for me. She was just using me.”
Oh…I hadn’t thought of it like that. “So, you think putting me through the same thing is a great idea? Gee, thanks!”
