Scotland didn't disappoint the second time around. Felt so great to be back in the Brotherland. The shinty team couldn't have been any more hospitable with me. It really felt as if I hadn't left. Saturday night was a bit of a rough go and there will forever be a few stories that come from there. As for the rest of the week, I simply hung around Edinburgh and had a merry time. I must have had haggis 4/5 days, consumed my fair share of whisky, and even fit in a shinty practice. Talking to the guys, they all were confused as to why I picked Scotland over Miami...in hindsight, I wouldn't pick any other place.
Well everyone, I am back in the USA. I've been home for about a week now and i wanted to have some time to unwind before returning to The Pat Cave one final time.
The past few months have been amazing. I have learned so much that I never would have if I was in the United States. I would recommend going abroad to anyone who isn't afraid to leave their comfortable environment.
I give one warning to anyone who goes abroad. Beware of making friends. Once you return you will find yourself constantly reminded of the merry times with them and you will miss wherever you were. When this happens to me I am confident I'll stay positive. Now i have many reasons to go back to Scotland (and I intend to).
I've attached a video with some of the highlights of the trip along with a nice ballad. I apologize for this post in comparison to the other more in depth and expansive ones in this blog. I would like to thank anyone who has visited the Pat Cave and to you frequent readers, I thank you most. I was not aware so many checked it out and it served a nice reminder that I have plenty of friends and family over in the US (Don't worry America, you are still number 1 in my book!!).
Thanks again everyone and as a certain Hobbit said "Well, I'm back"
Took some convincing for the family to go to St. Andrews based on the weather report (apparently a little wind and rain in the forecast is frightening to them) but after finally getting on the train it was well worth the trip, here are a few photos of the area
