Tonight we had garlic bread, dandelion and spinach pesto, hard boiled eggs, fried potatoes, and lemon pepper kippers.
The kippers were bought on sale, everything else was free or foraged.

Rice pudding
About 1.5 cups of leftover (overcooked) brown rice, 1 can of coconut milk, raisins, sesame seeds, cinnamon, cardamom, maple syrup, and salt to taste :)
Put the rice in a small pan, added the coconut milk, and cooked it on low until it finished turning into mush, then I stirred in the rest until I felt it was done.

Made a version of my favorite bento meal:
Tilapia fried in olive oil, garlic, ginger, and coco aminos, sunomomo (cucumber with white wine vinegar, maple syrup, and coco aminos and sesame seeds), brown rice topped with seaweed.
I used maple syrup bc I don’t use plain sugar if I can avoid it, coco aminos bc I try to avoid soy. Seaweed was one sheet of nori; the rest of the package will be for sushi rolls or soup or something. Cucumbers were free. Tilapia was a bag of fillets we got on sale. Total for this meal, fed 5 people, was about $16-$17? I’m estimating cost.
