THIS BLOG IS ON A HIATUS.  I don’t know how long it will be. But I need a break, and like a full on break, without the added stress of thinking about this blog. All the ships

A reads their books out loud to themselves, 'cause it helps them focus on that and not whatever's going on with their lives. B shares a wall with A and listens to the books, mostly because it's that or sleeping on the sofa and that thing is a breach of the Geneva Convention.

A's life goes to shit a bit, and when they show up back home a few days/weeks later, their neighbour B, who they've not talked to before, keeps starting increasingly weird conversations. B's trying to figure out the name of the book without coming out with a 'hey listen i'm no creep but i listen to you speak to yourself in the privacy of your own home and i wanna know the end of that book you were reading, what's it called please?'. Needless to say, B is pathetically failing at appearing normal.

But they do end up finding out how the book ends, maybe with a front row seat this time.

Neither of them wanted to be in each other’s presence and yet there they were. Once he got his hands on the tesseract he would put all of this behind him. He just had to hope that the other would actually get his hands on it. Trust was something else he had very little of and putting his life in this midgardian’s hands wasn’t something he liked. But there was no other choice, and watching the other walk off he had to hope he wouldn’t betray him.

When she’d first moved to the city ,  she’d considered getting a dog .  Or a cat .  She’d settled on a plant ,  which was slowly wilting from lack of watering and overexposure to sunlight .  But any urge to get a pet for herself had dissipated when Fury had brought the Avengers into existence .  And Tony ,  well Tony had all the makings of a Labrador .  Settling with a metallic thud behind her ,  grinning ear-to-ear as if he expects her to throw him a bone for not completely destroying the building .  Maria simply glares ,  checking her remaining rounds one more time before she holsters the weapon .   ❝  The building is intact . ❞  She states dryly ,  looking around and noting that ,  surprisingly ,  there’s not nearly as much damage as there usually is when he’s involved .  ❝ I’d give you a C ,  for effort . ❞   

      “ Just   a   C?! ”   The   smugness   falls   from   his   face   quicker   than   a   hundred   pound   stone,   eyes   going   wide   in   disbelief.   Tony   looks   around,   just   to   make   sure   that   he’s   actually   seeing   a   rather   well   maintained   and   guarded   building,   despite   the   fight,   and   turns   to   her   once   more.   “ Why   a   C?   The   only   thing   I   broke   was   a   window!   That   deserves   at   least   a   B! ”   Is   he   being   a   bit   petulant   and   show-offish?   Absolutely   he   is,   but   he   had   hoped   to   impress   Maria   at   least   more   than   the   cold   shoulder   and   even   colder   glare   he’s   receiving   right   at   that   moment.

I think in both sides you see Silver struggling to– in a way wishing he could be someone else and maybe someone bigger and maybe someone with more, maybe someone more like Flint or more like these other people around him, but being that awful feeling when you know you just aren’t or can’t do that thing and can’t go to that place within yourself, and people have that in life and people have it in relationships all the time, when you’re going “fuck, I wish I could go there.
