hm. this would be, in the current scheme of things, perhaps heretical. but im starting to think abt how the velothi exodus could be a metaphysical precedent. like yes there's the literal, physical exodus of half the aldmeri people under st. veloth, but could it also be an example of a mantling type event, like w/ tiber septim? there's no real, like, concrete data to suggest as such but I got to thinking abt the separation of goblin-ken from men and mer and how, in my eyes, they must've also simply been a separate group of ehlnofey that became the mortal races of nirn-- like direct cousins/siblings to mer, rather than distant half siblings. so they must've separated at some point. like during some sort of, i dont know, exodus, or something. does any of this make sense. hello

basically could the velothi exodus as a metaphysical idea have caused both goblin-ken and orcs to exist, separately but also at the same time? two different exoduses that are also the same exodus. the latter as a repetition, an echo, of the former.

the ever-raging internal debate involving only myself where i want my revival of tes ghouls to be as close to their original incarnation as possible but their original incarnation is based on the western misunderstanding of a "ghoul" and to change it to be more accurate to the original real-world myth undoes half of what they were in tes

RTVS Palestine Fundraiser, April 12th-14th

This weekend, Radio TV Solutions will be holding a 3 day marathon fundraiser event for the people of Palestine.

All weekend long, we will be streaming a variety of games and events in an effort to raise money for on-the-ground aid groups and direct Palestinian support campaigns.

The event will not be a traditional stream fundraiser, rather than pointing people at one donation point, we will be suggesting many different support recipients, and you may donate to any of them. You can then submit your donation amount to be tallied into our rough total.

The information document detailing suggested groups/campaigns to support will open up closer to when the event starts, as well as a schedule of events for the weekend. The event will be hosted on my twitch channel, where http://stream.rtvsfundraiser.live/ links to.

Some goblin cuisine I've been imagining, including:

Shishel - a "pesto" made from starlight moss, pearl onions and wild parsley that continues to subtly sparkle after the moss has been harvested and processed. Starlight moss is said to taste peppery, or even like a mild horseradish depending on the cultivar.

Griz enbrug - literally “fired rat,” it’s more appetizing than it sounds. The most common way of preparing it involves grilling long strips of rat meat and wrapping them tightly around skewers or sticks, seasoned according to local tradition. It can also be prepared over an open flame, without a griddle, by wrapping the raw meat around skewers before cooking.

Murkur - a "bread" made entirely with dried, ground mushrooms, no wheat flour. Very dense, and less bread-like than it looks in texture; it tastes exactly how it sounds.

Roasted Marrow - while traditionally bone marrow is exposed via cutting the bone down the middle, in goblin cuisine it's often cut into chunks like above, and the marrow is allowed to slow roast inside for several hours, or even days.

Languages/groups of languages actually spoken in the modern day (at least 2E). Still not sure what to make of Riekling but I'm erring on the side of "no longer mutually intelligible and thus more than a dialect."

An updated and more complete Goblin-ken language family tree, Ogre's dialects of course still being my own fabrication (well the whole thing is my own fabrication really but that's not the point).

I almost wasn't sure if Iron Orcish should be derived from the northern dialect or develop as its own isolate because of how literally, physically isolated they are in the Dragontail Mountains and northern Hammerfell, but because of their adherence to borrowing Old Orcish words in modern speech, which only really makes sense if they already knew it/evolved directly from it instead of modern Wrothgarian Orcish, I went with an isolate.

I also felt kind of weird leaving the various Goblin dialects at the same position as, say, Old Orcish, but writing "Mainland Goblin (Modern)" etc. beneath them felt repetitive.

and as always most of those are dialects of single languages anyway rather than completely separate but i WANTED the CHART cuz it looks good. sorry
