Resting his elbow on the scientist’s desk, Taiyo leaned over slightly, looking intently at the scientist. He was silent for a few seconds before he finally spoke, taking a serious, if not concerned tone.

“Is there… any reason why you lack eyebrows?”

     having a stranger so close to him made his body become tense, nose       wrinkled in disgust as they leaned closer. a huff of air would leave his        nostrils as he shifted, scooting his chair back.

Keiko simply nodded, as if any other action would have expended the energy she had left. Honestly, she looked like she was about to nod off any second.

“A very long night. I stayed up to do some overdue work… accidentally fell asleep.” 

Keiko had no idea when she had fallen asleep but it must have only been a few hours ago, three at the most. There wasn’t much work left to be done though; only a few papers left.

       akon was no stranger to sleepless nights-- you could tell by looking at        him. however, he was not so lucky. there was no accidentally falling         asleep for him. work would always remain the top priority. 

              ❝ i find my sleepless nights to be the most productive...  ❞

     it was obvious that the lack of sleep was her downfall tonight, but he      wouldn’t prod about it. 

                        ❝ i’ll stay until you finish the rest, at least.   ❞

          He was only half-joking as his golden eyes flickered towards the doorway. Had his headache been any worse, he might have risked it. Risked the strange experiments and noises coming from the laboratory’s closed doors. ( although on second thought… and third —- he doubted he would ever attempt it… ) Even if the stars were aligned perfectly and his luck in place – ah, he would leave the dangers to the next unfortunate passerby. 

     he was the only one close enough to hear that, so he assumed he was     the one who would have to answer. glass with what could be seen as       suspicious contents were carefully set back down on the table as akon     looked over his shoulder to meet vivid eyes. 

              ❝ it’s not as though it’s all toxic--  ❞

        if they didn’t feel like risking their life, then they could go somewhere         else. he wouldn’t stop them. 

                          ❝ to each their own, i suppose.  ❞
