A papercraft commission of Volo from Pokemon Legends: Arceus! Plus a cheerful little Togepi. ^_^
Straight-on, largely-symmetrical poses are tricky for me, so I did my best to add in some diagonals to Volo’s pose! To get a good reference image, I ended up doing a lot of wiggling around in front of my camera with a plushie in my arms, trying to figure out a pose that looked natural. Hip-check away, Volo!
Played Pokemon Legends Arceus, and wow is this a tone shift from the old games. Literally 10 minutes in, and one of the characters threatens to cast you out of the village and says you’ll probably die soon after. I can’t draw pokemon for the life of me.
Hisuian Zorua dying in the wilderness after being shunned and exiled by humans who were unjustly afraid of them and coming back out of malice…quite the familiar story, wouldn’t you agree, Commander?
“liking something in fiction doesn’t mean you condone it in real life” but instead of dark fanfiction tropes it’s about liking jeeves and wooster while being a socialist
"I think Pacific Rim is unrealistic now because instead of everyone banding together to defeat COVID, the governments just gave up and abandoned everybody-"
Are you kidding me? Pacific Rim 100% predicted this kind of thing. That's literally what the Pacific Perimeter Program was about. Once the PPDC decided fighting kaiju was too expensive, they just gave up and chose to ignore the problem by putting it behind a big wall. Pacific Rim is literally about the people who were abandoned by the institutions that were supposed to protect them and kept on trying anyway.
