I think the craziest thing about TTPD as an album is that I think a lot more people would like it if they actually just sat and listened and applied to it their own lives and didn’t just focus on the muses. Like. It’s so obvious she doesn’t want us to just focus on the muses. The manuscript even said the story isn’t mine anymore, this story is over and she’s moved on and it’s ours now and we’ll find new and different meanings in it. And I think writing the whole album off as ‘her worst album and it’s all about her obsession with 1 man’ just does the album such a disservice even if it’s not their kind of album.

can't help but think that a lot of the issues with how insular online communities conceive of neurodivergence stem from how the discourse necessitates the imagined existence of a mythic group of ‘neurotypicals’ cogently and unambiguously free of the social knottiness that certain neurodivergences can entail (“all ‘neurotypicals’ experience X,” “no ‘neurotypicals’ experience Y,” etc) rather than understanding neurotypicality as an enforced social norm to which we are all expected to comply and fall short of to varying degrees

In my soul and spirit I'm rejoicing with the 911 kiddos for their good fortune, but the true vector for spreading fannish enthusiasm on Tumblr is the gifset, and all the 911 gifsets seem to be of 2-3 absolutely identical dudes, so it's all very confusing. I don't know which one Buck is, but I guess he's going on dates with a guy who isn't the other main guy? I actually thought there were gays already, but what I'm learning is that those are the gays from a different show which is also 911, a show I was not even aware had a cinematic universe. Anyway I believe in my heart that all of this would feel less confusing to me if it were happening on a space ship, but people who watch procedurals deserve happiness and I'm not afraid to say it. i learned about Tim Wong who successfully and singlehandedly repopulated the rare California Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly in San Francisco. Fanfic tiktok is wild... I see so many people saying shit like "I could never read anything below 60k!!", or "What story can you even tell in under 5k words?" or "A oneshot below 10k isn't even a story!" or "I always filter completed fics by 100k< only!"

And I'm like...

A) which fandoms are you reading fics for where you have this kind of offerings on the regular?

B) have you heard of short stories? If you truly think every story NEEDS to be longform to connect with people, I sincerely feel sorry for you.

C) Average novel length is between 50k to 100k. I'm sorry, but CONSISTENTLY demanding fic writers to push out fics of that length is insane. Just think about it: YOU DEMAND AUTHORS TO PUT OUT FICS THAT COMPARE TO COMMERCIAL NOVELS IN LENGTH (AND QUALITY) AS A BASELINE.
