Today's session was very short because I don't really have the mental energy for anything besides watching videos today (so this will be short post) got him to pick up 2 water bottles. Tried a body armor bottle but all he would do was put his mouth on it a few times. Since yesterday I think weve been trying a cup and today he received it so I jackpot him and that's where we ended today's session.

Today Oisín and I did retrieval training, something we've been working on for the past few days. Today's session was short, mostly because my brain has been mush and I don't have much motivation for training, but if I don't force myself to at least try, then I'm not going to have a task trained dog. I've noticed we use the phrase "he did good" a lot so in going to try to not use that phrase, and instead describe how the training went. He's been picking up and giving me purposefully dropped empty water bottles and his toys, most of the time, though he struggles occasionally with bottles. He's struggling with understanding to pick up and give me bottles with water in them, today he did pick up and hand me a bottle that had a small amount of water in it. Twice I think. I also tried a Ziploc bag with about 4 dollars worth of quarters in it and he struggled with that, but eventually he picked it up and gave it to me. That was all todays training session was. I will maybe do more retrieval training later today, if I have the energy.

Haven't posted in a bit cause mostly we have just been doing stuff like sit, down and stand because my mental health has not been letting me do any training more then that but today I had the energy so we did some heeling next to my crutch he did good he's not wary of my crutches anymore. Something that we just got done with is retrieval training and he did really good I was playing with him with a toy and I dropped it so he grabbed it and gave it to me. So I got some treats and kept dropping it for him to grab and hand to me he surprised me. Towards the end of the session i grabbed a empty water bottle which is the item I've been using in his retrieval training and for the first few drops he would not pick it up but after a bit he finally did so I jackpot him and ended the session. Tomorrow I'm going to do more and maybe try some different objects but I think I should stick to empty water bottle and tug for a few days then add a new object

oof I think this blog will not be every day training record like I thought. This morning we did some heeling with my crutches which he does well when I have treats but when I don't he keeps stopping and trying to get away from my crutches:/ we did just start crutch heeling and my crutches have been something he's wary of for a while. We also did some DPT training and he actually got the command to do it himself! Tried from my wheelchair but he was distracted by stuff. I've been trying to get him to focus on me while my wheelchair is moving but we're having trouble with that. I've also noticed when there is a car going across the road he focuses on it a lot and won't take kibble or focus on me. So tomorrow I'm going to get some lunch meat and cheese and work with that. Last night maybe the night before that we worked on the re beginning of item retrieval he is doing well with putting his mouth on it but I only got him to hold the water bottle for a second

havnt update in bit oops. Yesterday we did lot of focus training oisín did good besides his friend distracting but getting his attention back was not to hard. Think focus is doing better because change command from tounge click to ch sounds more easier to make same sound then tounge click which not easy replicate same sound every time. Today did wheelchair heeling moved chair to bigger ish area he did really well even with fast turn and he was doing better with not turn so wide. Didn't do much heel training because was getting hot so went in and did some sit, down, stand and touch and adding command sound to touch which is juh sound. Can't wait till have AAC device and I can easily train him to that. Phone too quiet for him hear AAC words every time and hard to hold and train at same time.

breakfast training went ok. He is doing very well with heeling next to my chair. We did a bit of recall training and he did good. He was getting distracted towards the end of the session by I think a dog at the end of the road and he kept refusing his kibble so I'm going to start bringing a small ziploc bag of cat food or hotdog stuff like that that is high value to him. I really need to start writing down one of two things that we will work on each session cause I'm going all over the place from heeling to focus to DPT to recall and I imagine that's to much for a dog who hasn't been doing training session in a long time. I've also been thinking of training him agility he would not do any shows just at home as a form of exercise but that will be awhile till I train him that

did training with his breakfast this morning outside. He did well with heeling by my chair but when I turn he turns to wide and faces the chair. We did a bit of the start of DPT on the ground and he was doing well I tried seeing if he would do it from a chair but he's not there yet. The session ended frustrating he keeps turning his attention to people walking around and the other dogs and cats so later today I'm going to get some cat food and work on focus with that. Last night I was doing training with him with his dinner and wanted to see if he still remembers touch/target and he does it's only on my hand right now but I plan to have him do it on walls and my leg and also a button cus i think having a alert button he can press when i cant move my arms or legs or if i fall would be extremely helpful

Today I started teaching oisín how to help next to my wheelchair and crutches. He is scared of my crutches but he did pretty good today. He's never seen me in my wheelchair before today but he did very well and I didn't have to do much luring I did only have a very small area to wheel around so im bot sure how he will do in a bigger area but we are going to tractor supply the weekend after the next

Vest designs I made and hopefully will get one day. If I get a Christmas one I'm using it even when it's not Christmas because I love Christmas. Noël will be for more then just our autism but I want my vests to say autism service dog so people know why I act like I do cause I stim a lot, I'm Nonverbal, meltdown in public but I'm worried might get access issues if I have autism service dog on my vests

stuff I got for Noël yesterday

Sad news is it'll probably be awhile till I can get a puppy:'( i guess its a little of a good thing since I can prepare more and also the reason i cant get Noël right now is the house has to be rewired and mom said if it isn't the house could burn down and i kind of understand the danger but at same time I don't, to me getting a puppys more important. I really like the bowl I got it's sparkly blue like my wheelchair except my wheelchair is less sparkly

Noëls first vest (modelled by fudge my stuffed animal German shorthair pointer) it came with a pen and blank patches but the pen didn't work so I'll just buy some do not pet and in training patches on Amazon. I can't wait for this puppy
