Reveal: The New Tesla Roadster
At a Tesla press conference to reveal their new semi-truck, Elon Musk, unveiled a unexpected new vehicle - a roadster that he said would be the “fastest production car ever” made.
While the details are a bit slim, here are the stats we know:
0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds
0-100 mph in 4.2 seconds
It will cover the quarter mile in 8.9 seconds
200 kilowatt hour battery pack
620 mile range on a single charge
The top speed “above 250 mph”
The base price of the new roadster is currently set at $200,000 and is scheduled to begin production in 2020. They are currently accepting orders with a $50,000 deposit required upfront. The first 1,000 models sold will be the Founder’s Series models which will cost you $250,000 upfront.
