this sounds great!
I’m thinking of making a Discord server for non-binary artists of any media type, would anyone be interested??? Here’s my idea for the setup so far, although this is subject to change if people want changes made:
-To start off with, channels for different media types and sorted again by the intended activity in them
So like “writing-sharing” and “visual-prompts”, the title format being “(media type)-(intended activity)”
-Then there’s an off-topic channel, meant for general chit-chat
-New channels of any sort can be made upon request, either in the server or in response to this post before I make it!
Any form of note on this post will be taken as saying you’re interested!!!!

You’re valid if your autism makes your gender a mystery or a riddle
You’re valid if your autism makes your gender a defined fact or something that need to be categorized
You’re valid if sometimes your autism fogs your gender perception and other time makes it’s crystal clear
All autigender people are valid!

The Mixed Media System for Presentation
The Mixed Media System is a new idea for a way of describing presentation that is not bound to gender at all! It’s based on the idea of mixed media in art, where you can combine any art materials you like to create whatever you’re imagining, and the idea is to represent the diversity of presentation styles regardless of gender. It’s intended both for nonbinary people and for anyone who wants a more expansive way to describe how they present themselves.
Different art materials will represent different aesthetics and types of identity. You can describe yourself using any combination of art materials you want; like in art, there can be unexpected combinations, but never wrong ones.
Keep in mind that you do not have to be an artist to use this vocabulary! You only have to feel like your presentation fits the associations you have with a certain art material, or the definition someone else has given that material.
There’s a lot of possible ways to use Mixed Media words in sentences; I’ll probably be speaking in terms like, “I have a Mixed style that involves ballpoint, crayon, and letterpress.”
Let’s define what ballpoint, crayon, and letterpress mean to me, because those are the main terms I’d use to describe my own presentation! They’re not limited to the example traits in the definition; rather, those are starting points to understanding the overall “vibe” of the term.
Ballpoint: There aren’t many art materials more basic than a plain ballpoint pen. Clothing-wise, ballpoint presentation is about the basics- t-shirts, jeans, clothes that are nothing fancy and hairstyles that don’t take you very long in the morning. It’s pretty versatile personality-wise, because most people have some element of ballpoint to their presentation, but it can indicate matter-of-factness for people who define their presentation as mostly ballpoint, as well as not really caring how people see them.
I used to dress as almost exclusively ballpoint- I would wear the same plain hoodie every day from October to May, and I never took it off. I really wasn’t engaged with how people saw me, and I didn’t really have a solid self-image either. (This was before I realized I was trans and nonbinary.) More recently, I still have a ballpoint element to my style, but it’s more like a complement to other aspects of how I dress.
(Note that I’m using presentation to mean both appearance and attitude, because I believe that presentation is everything about how you present yourself to the world. You can use some words to describe your appearance and others to describe your attitude; they don’t have to match or even overlap at all, although it’s also fine if they do. In my own case, I see my appearance and attitude as pretty closely linked.)
Crayon: Crayons! Bright, colorful, simple. Crayon-style clothing has bright colors and simple styles. As a type of mannerism, crayon presentation can relate to enthusiasm and straightforwardness, as well as a certain amount of childishness.
I sometimes behave like this, and sometimes don’t, and those days may or may not correlate with when I’m wearing crayon-styled clothing. I do tend to pick my outfit in the morning based off how I’m feeling, and I usually can’t stand to wear anything too bright if I’m feeling down. But things change over the course of the day.
Letterpress: Probably less familiar to most people than ballpoint pens and crayons, letterpress is a form of printmaking that produces very crisp, neat images, usually on nice thick paper. As a clothing style, letterpress can include things like collared shirts, blazers, shiny leather shoes, etc. More in a “trendy hipster” way than a “businessperson” way, but I suppose it could swing that way too. As a style of behavior, it can involve intellectualism, sophistication, and a tendency to show off both those things.
This element of my presentation comes out in my dress- I’m not, like, all-out letterpress, but I do own a lot of collared shirts- but it also shows in the way I act. I’m smart and articulate and I like people to notice when I’m being clever.
As for all the other terms for other presentation styles... well, I’m not going to define them, because I want people to coin definitions that make sense to them! If you need help coming up with an art material that doesn’t match your presentation, feel free to contact me- but you’re also free to define yourself and use definitions other people come up with. Under the cut, a list of some more art materials that you could use to describe your own presentation (not an exhaustive list!):

I'm intrigued!
Just wanna put out a teaser for the alignment system I'm making... It's based on the 5 classical elements (water, fire, earth, air, spirit) and therefore has 32 combinations, so it'll take a while, but this is very important to me because I can't use the galactian(sp?) system for myself because it's been used (with lunarian as an example) as "feminine-aligned" and "female-aligned" and "relating to female" and even though that's not the intent it makes it inaccessible for me and probably others
Oooo that is very cool! Though I am sorry to hear that about the galactian system, I am still happy you are coining a system that you feel fits!

Algiagender seems like it would fit pretty well. The definition, copied from this post, is, “Having a gender which changes depending on your pain levels or type of pain you're feeling. Only for those with chronic pain.”
Hope this helps, anon!
Is there a gender that is directly influenced by the effect/experience of chronic pain and illness? Like I feel more aligned with certain ‘genders’ depending on the severity of my pain in a given day. I hope that makes sense?
Hmm I don’t think there is a term like that. It makes sense, but I don’t think there has been a term coined yet for that.

So this is the new project I was teasing- little zine stories based on various genders, starting with AGENDER! Most of these won’t be genders I identify with, but I’ll do my best to be accurate and respectful.
The first three images are the comic in nice, readable format (or as readable as possible with the lousy old scanner I’m using at my family’s house); the final image is the whole page, which you can assemble into your very own zine! Print out, fold on the solid lines, cut on the dotted lines and the outer border, assemble as explained in this article or this video, and you will have your very own little agender comic book!
And if you want a story about your gender identity, send me an ask with a gender term and its definition. No promises that it’ll get done with anything approacting timeliness, but I’ll do my best.
Next up: Genderfaun! (It’s already written and like two thirds drawn. I’m excited.)

You may notice that a bunch of the images are drawn in the same style, because I couldn’t resist using my favorite webcomic, O Human Star! It’s by @bluedelliquanti and it’s got a bunch of queer characters and it’s SO GOOD.
Anyway, sources:

I made the He and They images myself, with this site
And the code screenshots are from code I’ve written myself!
