okay, i've seen this one post going around my dash a few times, and at this point i feel a need to say something about it:

vampires drinking from blood banks is NOT more ethical than drinking from live donors! in fact, it's worse!

most adult humans walking around on the street have a pint or so of blood they can spare with no real consequences for their health. (again, this is not true of everyone, so make sure you ask your donors about any health conditions before you get into it, but you were doing that already, right?)

but the blood in blood banks. the blood in blood banks is for people who need that blood in transfusion form to survive. blood shortages are real, and they kill. if you steal from a blood bank, someone could die for your theft.

the only reason that bagged blood is considered the "softer" option is because you don't have to look the people you're harming in the eyes to do it. coward.

The Halloween Tree (1993) by Hanna-Barbera. With 90's cheesiness, the masterful turn of phrase in narration, and an amazing score, this film introduces all-age audiences to the idea that mortality isn't something to be afraid of.

I really can't understate what a hidden gem this film is. I do reccommend reading the wiki plot for it before watching! It's a wild ride and watching it play out is gripping. It was one of the films that inspired me to go on and work with the dead.

Came down to my parents' place to bring in mail/water plants/house sitting stuff.

Hundreds of dead fruit flies along the windowsills that my brother says weren't there when he stopped down a few days ago.

If I'm found dead, the house is possessed.

#likely it has to do with the food my brother left out a couple visits ago #at least that's all i can think of because the haunting thing #there's just so many i can't imagine not noticing the last time i was down
