The Tornadoes are really upset that Gracie is back. They're acting as if they've never seen her before and are hissing and growling. They're mad at me for paying attention to her, and especially hate that she's been hanging out while I work (she never did before). I'm trying to be fair to everyone and give them equal attention, but with seven cats, it seems quite impossible! I'm exhausted. 😩 Any advice on how to make the Tornadoes more comfortable? Gracie has been home just over 24 hours now, and has finally stopped crying and feeling very insecure. She thought we had rejected her and didn't want her anymore. It was a rough first few hours, but she's slowly settling back in. The Tornadoes are having the worst time of it because she's been gone and smells so different! I brought them and Benny outside for some birdie watching, and that helped greatly. REUNITED!!! 😻😻😻 A very kind lady made a FB post about an hour ago about a cat matching exactly Gracie's description. Gracie had wandered up to her door looking for pets. I happened to catch the post immediately and went to take a look. We walked around and called her. These two are so adorable together! I really need to have video rolling wherever we are to capture the funniest moments. Earlier today, Benny was grooming Ziggy and he was getting too rough. He nipped her and was going to tackle her as she laid on her back. She bopped him in the head with a paw on each side of his face and took off so fast, that when he lunged for her he put his snout in the water bowl! 😹😹😹 I was going to video their fight but I was too late. Omg Benny... 😹😹😹 So last night I was sitting on the left side of the couch and Dee was to my immediate right. Benny wanted to cuddle with us and was to the right of us on the floor. So instead of jumping on the couch and walking across to me, he jumps up on the back of the couch and gets tangled up in the light. After I raise that for him, he could have continued on and jumped down onto the couch arm next to me. No, instead he "jellied" onto my neck & shoulder! 😹😹😹 This boy couldn't do normal if he tried. I think Benny is starting to miss Gracie. Saturday will mark 2 weeks since she ran away. Benny has become extremely clingy and hasn't been grooming much, up until I used waterless wash on him yesterday. I'm sure he fears he's going to get tossed out, which, of course, in a million years would never happen! Poor kiddo has a lot of insecurity from terrible past events that he may never get over. I try and get him to understand that Gracie knew better than to door dash. She had gotten in trouble a thousand times for it and did it a thousand and one anyway because she never listened! She seems to have found a new place to stay, instead of hanging around her home to be let back in. It's really sad to think, but in the end you don't own a cat, they choose their own life.
