This week, a Staten Island grand jury failed to indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo for the choking death of 43-year-old father, Eric Garner. Garner was killed after several police, including two sergeants, questioned him on suspicion of selling loose, untaxed cigarettes in July. Only the man who recorded the incident was charged. Ramsey Orta, 22, was indicted on unrelated weapons charges just weeks after Garner's death. Orta's wife, Chrissie Ortiz, was also brought up on alleged assault charges days after her husband.
