Nectarine, ma'am, the vault you left Apricot in doesn't have a very stable leader. 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥'𝘷𝘦 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘢𝘯 𝙀𝙓𝙋𝙇𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝙁𝙄𝙍𝙎𝙏 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘰𝘧𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦..

Creator, Apricot is giving me chaotic child vibes
I mean- just look at how you drew him-
Tumblr media
He can be pretty chaotic sometimes ! He's got a lot of energy. In game his traits are competitive and never sits still. He might even be ADHD like I am

What would the D&D alignments of the characters be?
That one's a tricky question, because it's pretty hard to be strictly good in an apocalypse environment like this. It's not always highlighted because I take a playful approach to a lot of things but truthfully a lot of the characters have probably done things to survive they're not proud of.
Even in the comic Uranium Glass drowned someone and Bustopher set a base in fire
I think when it comes to "niceness/general pleasantness" Kite is the nicest. He's trusting to a fault and tends to be really kind and patient.
When it comes to righteousness/moral good, possibly Mousetrap with her oath to never deny healing to those in need, she's if she's snappy and easily frustrated by people.
The "meanest" in the vault right now is probably Call of Greatness who does not hold back. Cornerstone also had a tongue on her, maybe they'd have gotten along.
Shale had probably committed the most 'crimes', including being involved with typical raider stuff like theft and violence (though he was mostly basically a burglar even to his allies) but the one with the overall most negative impact on the wasteland might actually be Firefly Petunia
Outside of the vault, it's probably easy to frame Charger (leader of the hush bandits) as one of the worst
It can be complicated and weird ! But in a fun way
To leave you with a few alignments anyway
Mousetrap: Lawful Good
Worm: Chaotic Neutral (Good tendencies)
Downy Feather: True Neutral
Triangle: Lawful Neutral/Lawful Evil

I mean you also also gave him abandonment issues Nectarine, might've been a good idea to give him an explanation too, no?

I'm surprised nobody has had children/litters yet- is rng being weird or-???
I turned off litters for all characters ! You unfortunately have to do it individually character by character
I also purposely avoid patrols that bring kids, so event tab kits are about it as far as children go
I do this because the objects in universe age like humans, and my updates are weekly instead of monthly (I treat moons like weeks) so kids will not really grow up any time soon
Also it's kind of an unsafe environment for children, and ooc I want to not have heavy child death/harm too often. It's not impossible for something bad to happen to the rare kids that might show up (like Apricot) but the less the better ha ha

wait, so, within in-game context, is Apricot a kit or an apprentice? I initially assumed CoG was his mentor but in hindsight if he’s a kit did they adopt him?
He joined at 5 moons, and in game he's an apprentice and will stay that way (I'll be manually setting back his age to apprentice time to time) ! CoG is his mentor, the vault as a whole takes care of him but he's allowed to be pretty independent since he is a young teen (and one who grew up in an apocalypse so you learn some things pretty early). CoG is the closest to a parent for him though, and tends to be the one to take the most responsibility for him. I think I in game assigned them as the parent too.
Also I let the game choose his mentor, CoG was up to fate

I was so sure Hehe wasn't going to make it! Congrats to it. Sucks about the paralysis though.
Yeah ! I was so worried about it! Especially after their infection right at the end. It might not have been the ideal outcome in his mind but the fact he survived a plane crash at all is amazing, let alone somewhere where he got real actual medical care, so at this point he's still in shock that he's even alive.

The text was that the loner dropped off their kit they could no longer care for, and with Apricot's age (13) he was raised for over 10 years, so he's not necessarily a case of being abandoned as a baby.
But he was also just abandoned around a vault with no formal goodbye and a lot of confusion.
His mother I imagine has always been cold and distant to a degree, leaving Apricot constantly seeking the attention and approval of others. With him being a young teen now, he might be acting out more, trying to prove himself, and being sick of being treated like a baby, etc, and there's times where that can probably be dangerous (or at the very least, disruptive). From what I've seen in game lately he's been pretty reckless with strangers, and he hasn't always been listening to his mentor and all that. He means well. He tries his best.
I think you're on the fight track with why she left him! She's someone who he looks up to, who has been capable of defending the both of them for years. He wants a gun so he can be like her, and I kind of see her as someone who's taken justice into her own hands a few times. She's a rugged wasteland survivor, she's like a fox that'd gnaw its leg off to escape a trap.
I'm not sure if it's that his mother decided he could fend for himself well enough, or if there was a final straw (whether it's something almost happened to him, or if he did something big) , or if they were in a group where her peers put her up to leaving him because of the risks he poses, but he's definitely not really ready to think that she'd really leave him on his own.
The location outside the vault wasn't a coincidence though so I don't think she wants him dead or anything like that even if she is prepared to just never see her son again and left him so abruptly without even a proper explanation. She purposely took him somewhere where he has a chance to thrive, but the action was still very cold and hurt him a lot.
If a loner is encountered that fits my vision of her, who knows, maybe we'll see her ! Or maybe I'll find other ways to incorporate other characters in a way that lets you guys engage with these characters more !

Apricot- ignore them- they're just here to spread negative feelings- I'm sure your mother will come back for you! [I just imagine the negative anon in the background with a ' >:0 ' face-]

The anon was probably right though !
