This is why Dahee gets along with Amber so well.  She’s worked with mentors in the past, as well as various other counselor types and most of the time all they managed to do was make her feel more like an idiot. With Amber it’s easy, she never feels like something she has to say is completely idiotic.  And even though there are plenty of times where she feels embarrassed by her thoughts and feelings, Amber never made it seem that way. It was a relief but also shocking in many ways.  She simply gives a little smile and shrugs one shoulder, unsure of what to say.
These are the moments Dahee both wants to pull her hair out in frustration and thank the other at the same time.  It’s so difficult to articulate how she really feels about something, especially when it comes to her own self worth.  And everyone always makes sense when they tell her she actually matters, that her power isn’t something to toss aside for kicks.  It’s hard to believe that sometimes however, especially when it’s the same power that damages her if she’s not careful.  A part of her supposes that it’s the same for a lot of people, but that’s hard to remember in the heat of the moment.  Nevertheless, she listens to Amber with patience and admittedly relief.
“I just,” she chews on the inside of her cheek still unsure how to explain herself.  “Sometimes I wonder.  I feel like I should just stay in the hospital wing, I’m of more help there. But I don’t want to be the person that hides from the battle field.  I’ve seen too many of my friends killed in shootings and drive bys to stay where I probably should.”  I want to be more; she almost adds but keeps that part to herself.  As comfortable as she is around Amber, it’s difficult to completely lay herself bare. Even her closest friends were often pushed to the side in that regard.
Still, Dahee finds herself chuckling at Amber’s words and she shrugs, somewhat embarrassed.  “I just really thought it was a shame we didn’t have a face painting booth.  I mean it is a festival after all.  The kissing booth though…Sana talked me into it.”  Even if she did help with the silly plan but that was beside the point in her eyes. “Actually…um, could you?  I just, I think I might do better if you’re there.” She speaks quietly, the tips of her ears burning.  It makes her feel vulnerable and she hates it but Dahee also knows Amber won’t judge her for it.
Self Worth | Dahee & Amber
amber tries to lighten the tense atmosphere with a smile and then a laugh, careful to choose her new teasing words carefully, “aw, dahee, we’re friends here right? relax! you can tell me anything.” amber never really liked to refer to her mentor and student relationships as what it was. she was always sure to push that the relationship was friendship and companionship; they were equals and nothing less.
a frown appears on amber’s usually cheery face, and she sighs, leaning forward towards the other nervous girl, “dahee, i know you feel like you can’t do much, but just remember, you’re important. the festival is a chance for those to go out there and display what makes everyone so unique from each other. look, i know what you’re going through. you don’t think you’re worth it, but you are.”
“you’re a health manipulator, and in the support class. do you know how important you are to fights? if your teammate was in dire need of help, you would be their go-to person. you’re the key component to a fight. sure, the offense are always in the limelight,” amber shrug. she can’t exactly say much; she is an offense class after all, “but the support, the people-”she raises her hands to make quotes,”-’behind the scenes’, they’re the foundation of this all.”
she waves off her serious tone with another smile, “sorry, i got a little too serious there. but, with this festival and i’ve heard you’ve signed up for quite some booths, you’re going to have fun. i promise. and don’t worry too much about the games. i think with you as a partner, your team would have the highest chance of winning,” a pause. “hell, if you want, i’ll come with you. staying stuck in this office all day while you guys are out having fun sounds like quite a bore.”

The pride he carried with him about his work was admirable for Dahee.  Sure she hadn’t seen him in battle or something of the sort but the details and realism of the flowers in front of her was enough to intrigue and decide that it is praise he deserved.  And everyone deserves a little praise now and again she figures so she nods in agreement, humming slightly in affirmation as well.
But his suggestion surprises her and it shows on her face as well, her jaw dropping and eyes widening. A moment later she’s wiped the expression off her face, though still feeling a little dumbfounded by the offer. Instead, she chuckles a bit under her breath and leans forward, interested.  “You don’t even know how well I draw.  While it is quite tempting, how do you know I won’t muck it up?”  She teases lightly.  Now, Dahee knew that she was talented and could keep up with the other, but she rarely missed a chance to joke around in such a manner.
“You’d think there would be some sort of pill that would help with that.  But I supposed if there was it would fall into the wrong hands and we’d all be in some serious trouble for sure.”  Still, the idea is tempting.  What she wouldn’t give to not be restricted by her own body chemistry. She’s not even sure dangerous side effects would deter her much if that was an option.  Only her pride would be a deterrent in the matter and even then she can’t help but wonder.
She nods slowly, listening attentively as he gave his opinion most of which she certainly agreed with.  “The instructors tell me it’s about state of mind as well.  I can’t help but agree even if they act as though it’s easy to switch off your thoughts and focus on the task at hand sometimes.”  She chews on the inside of her cheek in thought.  “I’ve never been much of one for bragging, I’m not good at it.  But I will admit it’s certainly a useful ability.”  If nothing else she could help at least one person out and that could make all the difference.

“Damn right it is hun, and I’m happy to show it off.” He proudly stated. Plus, he loved how people could find happiness in his creations too. It was pleasant and it motivated him to be better in art. Sure he had other talents too, but art would always be one of his best talents.
“Ooohhh you can draw too!? We can totally collab and oh my god, what if we make a creature together and I bring it out to life! That would be so cool.” He suggested, eyes brightening at the idea. That would be so darn amazing, to do something like that. Despite the fact that he wasn’t subtle, he does make sure he doesn’t show off his ability to normal people. It wasn’t wise and he knew that all too well. So to have someone to be able to draw with and show off how their creation would be like alive, it would be amazing.
“Oh god tell me about it, the stronger my creatures are the more tiring it gets.” He groaned. Oh energy reserves, why must it be such a nuisance? Sure it was like the best when it came to figuring out a weakness for the character but lord, when he was the one who had to deal with that? Not cool.
“Ah, true. Some people just have it easier when it comes to training…I mean, comparing my abilities to others, it’s one of the easier to control since all I have to do is be mindful about it, know my limits, all that jazz. Plus, you can just brag about your powers and what not, I mean, I do it a lot.” He stated his opinion. He was lucky, that’s what he thought. Most people had abilities too difficult to control, but he could decide to bring out the drawing to life or not.

Although Dahee does her best to remain stoic, she can’t help but smile a little at Sana’s words.  After all, she doesn’t know many people who don’t enjoy a compliment or two.  Especially when it’s given at a time they least expect it.  “Mm, good thing I don’t have fire manipulation or our booth might be in trouble, smoking hot heh.”  She chuckles under her breath at her own joke then shakes her head and attempts to focus back on the task at hand.  Admittedly now that she was actually working, Dahee felt a little bad for leaving Sana with it by herself for so long.  She wasn’t going to say that aloud however, at least not yet—not when there are customers nearby.
With the clarification, Dahee scowls playfully, her nose scrunching up in and crinkling.  She’s laughing again a moment later however, so any sense of threat is thrown out the window.  “Just covering all your bases aren’t you?”  To be fair, Dahee would have done the exact same thing if the roles were reversed so at the end of the day she couldn’t be as aggravated as maybe she wanted to.  That is alright though, she can get the other girl back later for something she’s sure. She wiggles an eyebrow at the other and makes a dramatic show of pretending to grab at the megaphone but stops and sticks out her tongue.  “Customers first then.”  And it’s right back to giving out smooches, some of the embarrassed expressions of the ones who come up really are just priceless.
SMOOCHED! || SaHee
Sana huffed and placed both hands on her hips, in disbelief of what she was actually hearing. For her onlt? No way– “Are you crazy? You’re like smoking hot, they probably want to kiss you more than they want to kiss me. Now don’t be such a grumpy person, oh my god–” Of course her pleas were completely ignored, given the fact that Sana’s cheeks were sore, because yeah, that’s what she has been giving all the time, her cheeks, also her lips but to other people’s cheeks as well. It was funny to see the reaction when they were actually expecting a kiss somewhere else.
She didn’t make it worse, on the contrary, she made it more fun.
Sana could only giggle at the back of her throat and wink at her friend. She really had to pull the stick out of her butt one way or the other and this was an entertaining way to do so. If they were going to be paid for this, they might as well give a better service than they were giving, well, than Dahee was giving, because Sana thought she was doing just fine. “Nope, I made sure to point at you while saying that.” She glanced at the other for a moment, studying her expression and even when she wanted to hide it she had to admit this was being more fun than she thought. However she was not going to be more pushy– not yet. She laughed to herself and started kissing people as well before the other started speaking again. “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you’ll never touch it!” She mused playfully and darted her tongue out at her before focusing on emptying the line again.

(/her brow arches in disbelief) A blind what?  Why in the hell would I-- (/she’s cut off by the other’s question and pauses for a moment, listening) Why is it (/she leans closer to the other) you insist on trying to drag me to blind dates and double dates?  You think I can’t get a date on my own or something?  (/glancing at the boy again she shrugs and leans back into her chair) Go ahead and ask, lord knows I can’t stop whatever crazy mission you’re on right now.
[ ` a cheeky grin swept past her lips upon hearing the dahee’s answer ] i think this calls for a blind date, [ ` stating as a matter of factly before standing up ] or a double date for that matter. are you in or not? [ ` looks over her friend with brows raised in question ] but i have to ask him if he’s free over the weekends and if he’s still single [ ` tugs her lower lip gently;  shrugs afterwards ] oh well, it never hurts to try asking.

She quirks her eyebrow at him, amused beyond belief at his leap.  “And how does that help me with getting you back for your tallness, hm? Should I give you the common cold just so I can swoop in and save you from a stuffy nose later on?”  Dahee jokes with ease wagging her finger at him. Sometimes she wondered what the heck went on in that brain of his, but thinks it’s better not to ask.
“Yeah, yeah.  Okay Fairy Godmother, I’ll tell you if I run into any bad kissers so you can properly scold them for their horrible kissing.”  The image itself was enough to draw more laughter out of her.  And the festive area is certainly helping her mood as well.
Dahee doesn’t justify him with a response.  All she does is hum a part of Bippidy Boppidy Boo and wiggle her eyebrows, figuring that is enough to placate him for now.  Sometimes even she didn’t understand their odd little friendship, but she liked it.  He was in an odd way like a fairy godmother to her, definitely without the wings though. And thank goodness for that.
The declaration surprises her slightly and halts her movements for just a moment, eyes widening slightly.  Then she smiles slightly, affectionately.  “You’ve got this all planned out don’t you?  Silly Fairy Godmother, I wouldn’t deserve this lovely dress you’re talking about don’t be silly.”  She mulls over this for a moment then sniggers.  “Although I suppose the attention wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.  Though I’m not the sort that usually turns heads.”  She adds with another low chuckle and shakes her head.
Just as Dahee reaches for the mirror, Joonyoung grabs it and she waits patiently for some sort of response. Although the grin should have been reassuring she still starts to squirm a little and scratches the back of her head. “I messed up a little but it’s not too bad right?”  Despite her need for approval, she grins and still feels pleased overall with how the look turned out.
Brush strokes | Joonyoung & Dahee
“Yeah you can’t, but you can still awesomely heal people!” Joonyoung pointed out. Hmm, that ability was cool, maybe he could make a creature out of it? No, it would be way too powerful, and it could possibly rebel against him. That was not something he’d enjoy at all, a strong creature going havoc…that was something he never wanted again.
He mentally shrugged it off, festivals were not meant for bad memories.
“Hey, that’s Fairy Godmother to you hun.” Joonyoung retorted. He was happy that she was enjoying this a lot though, it was always to see others enjoy life. He chuckled when the other told him that Bippity Boppity Boo will never change.
“That better be true ‘cuz there isn’t going to be any Fairy Godmother as amazing as me.” He huffed, arms crossed. He also noticed that they were running short in time, which led him to believe that the girl was not going to create the best face painting she actually could do. Oh well, it’d still look amazing anyways, he knew that.
“No way, you know I’m going to dress up as the most fabulous Fairy Godmother, sparkles and all. Plus, I will make an awesome dress for you Cin-Dahee-lla, one that would be so freaking amazing, that everyone’s eyes will be on you. It’ll make all the guys except me, because I’m amazing, drool over you. Trust me, that is what the scenario will be like.” Joonyoung ended up rambling once he knew it was done.
“Where’s the mirror? I need to see how utterly wondrous my face is now.” The man asked, but then spotted it before the other did anyways and with his long, lanky arm, grabbed it without the need to actually stretch all that much to get it. He then took a look of what he look like, grinning as he did so.

Dahee is a little too amused at the idea of silly, poorly drawn creatures running around that it takes her a moment to collect herself and pay attention to what the other is saying. The fact that his main concern was bringing something fabulous to life actually had Dahee smiling brightly in amusement.  “I ask mostly because I draw a little myself and the idea was just too funny.  Though you’re right, bringing something fabulous to life is a lot more satisfying than a poorly drawn piece.”  Hell, Dahee was the sort that felt a lot of pride when she looks back at her old drawings and see how much she’s improved overall.
His enthusiasm actually surprises her.  She’s never really regarded her ability with much thought, despite the fact others tell her that’s why she hasn’t advanced as much as she should have.  So when others show genuine interest it stuns her, but it’s usually the good sort.  But to hear that he actually has creatures dedicated to that specific job is somehow comforting.  As if she needed the additional affirmation that sort of ability could be useful in battle. “Yeah, it can be a little tiring sometimes.  Mostly with bigger wounds though like breaks and such.”  She’s not really good at describing her power or bragging about it so the attention is hard to understand and respond to properly.
Instead she chews on the inside of her cheek and fiddles with the ribbon again.  “I mean you’re right.  It’s just hard to practice sometimes you know?  I can’t very well go up to someone and say oi can you cut yourself so I can heal you?  I don’t even get sick anymore either really.”  She shrugs and then grimaces at the realization that might be bragging.  “I mean—I don’t know.  It’s a work in progress but it is useful.”
Artists [ Joonyoung & Dahee ]
He noticed how focused she was on the flowers, filling him with pride. He knew those flowers looked realistic, sure it probably didn’t live up to the original but it was extremely close to it. Seeing how fascinated she was over his powers also made him grin brightly. It seemed that she showed true curiosity of his abilities and he would love to show it off more.
“Oh lord. Yeah the creations would be interesting and all but god, the main reason why I tried to be a really good artist was so I could make sure I at least brought life to something fabulous.” Joonyoung huffed. Sure it would be interesting if he was never good at drawing, but still, he’d at least like it if he wowed people with amazing his creations looked when he brought it out in reality.
“You can manipulate health!? That’s so cool, I have a few of those creatures with the same ability and they really make life easy. Like, if I want to go for a party but sprained an ankle? Yeah, just bring them out and let them do the job and it gets healed up in like a few hours. But I do get really tired though and go back home earlier than usual.” Joonyoung told her, excitement brewing as he heard of her ability. He was actually fond of that ability, it made things so much more easier and as a support ability, could do wonders. Like it or not, when one gets injured, they get worse in battle.
“It’s a fascinating ability too, all abilities are and they have so much potential to be so amazing.” He pointed out.

Her nose scrunches in disdain and she pokes at his side in revenge, twice.  “You’re lucky I can’t rearrange your genes and make you shorter than me.”  She grumbles in aggravation.  That would be a wonderful power to have actually.  Quite dangerous and darn near impossible to practice to perfection but a wonderful power to have nonetheless.  Maybe she would be able to make herself taller then and not even have to worry about climbing on countertops anymore.  Although there are some advantages to being short, they’re hard to see when everyone is so damn tall.
Dahee snorts with laughter and has to pause in her painting for a moment to keep from getting the paint everywhere.  Once her laughter is under control she’s working again and giving Joonyoung an amused look.  “Okay dad, I doubt anyone will actually try anything but I’ll certainly tell you all the bad kissers.”  Which Dahee imagines won’t be too high considering she doesn’t plan to kiss anyone long enough to find out.
At first, she just hums in response, using the white on his forehead for highlights and back down again to his chin for the rest of the mouth. “Bippidy Boppity Boo is going to haunt you for the rest of your life I am never changing that ringtone.”  She would have told him to hold still but that was practically impossible.  Normally she would put some white under the eyes as well and highlight more but their booth would officially be open in a few minutes.  So she contours around the bridge of the nose with a darker brown and along his jaw as well.
When he moves and the brown goes into the white Dahee rolls her eyes, affectionately.  “Hold still will ya?  And no, though if you decide to be a lion for Halloween, we can totally make that happen.”  Quickly Dahee corrects the mistake with a small towel and repainting the white.  “I’m almost done, okay?”  Starting on the black, she leaves a few dots in the white muzzle area before painting the nose and around the mouth as well.  “There we are, all done!”
Brush strokes | Joonyoung & Dahee
“I don’t know, blame the genes my friend, blame the genes.” He laughed as she complained about his  height. Short or tall, he would have embraced whatever his height was. Unfortunately, when you were short, you don’t get to tease as much. But, if he wasn’t tall, he wouldn’t be able to help Dahee with getting the book or item from the top shelf, making him a lesser Fairy Godmother, which he was never going to be.
He grinned when she patted him, but then tried to not make a facial expression as she started to paint. And Joonyoung, being the talkative person he is, had to comment. “Oh please hun, I’d make them come after you with the wondrous painting I did to your face. And if any one of them tried anything or was a bad kisser then tell me.”
“It better be. And if you do that you have to change the ringtone, but we all know that needs to be the ringtone like, forever.” Joonyoung pointed out, as he yet again failed to hold still. He kept track of what colour she used and what not, not ticklish from the brush. He was however, not someone who could stay still for too long.
“You think I should’ve died my hair brown? WOuld’ve made me look more like a lion.” He asked, unable to be silent anymore. scratching the back of his neck as he did so. Oops, he moved. Whatever, face painting didn’t dry up as fast as watercolour and mistakes could be hidden easily too.

She might have kept her embarrassment about her silly question, but Dahee was far too curious to worry about such matters.  And she listens, enraptured by the information although her eyes do not leave the flowers in her hand for too long.  If she didn’t know any better, Dahee would say these flowers hadn’t even been drawn at all.  Granted she wasn’t looking for imperfections in the design however, she was too enthralled.
The way he explains it, she nods along and easily makes a few sounds of agreement as he does so. To be able to bring drawings to life—wouldn’t that be something amazing?  Horribly terrifying if done incorrectly but amazing nonetheless.  And she finally tears her gaze away from the flowers and back on him, amused by his gesturing and excitement overall.  It must be nice being so excited about an ability you possess.
“Can you imagine what life would be like if no matter what you did your drawings didn’t turn out well?” She muses over this idea for a moment, chuckling to herself.  “That would make for some odd creations indeed.”  Dahee isn’t exactly keen on sharing her power, in her mind it pales in comparison.  But it would also be quite rude to not share, given than she had asked about his.
“Oh, nothing quite as fascinating as that.  I can manipulate health, that’s it really.”  Dahee shrugs as one hand fiddles with the ribbon that ties the bouquet together.
Artists [ Joonyoung & Dahee ]
He was grinning from ear to ear, as he looked at how awed and happy she looked. He thrived for this, to see people like that just made him really giddy. When she asked him about his abilities, he decided to explain it to her since she looked so fascinated.
“Ehh, kind of. Bringing any drawing to life would make me god, but I’m not you see. There are certain things which I could not draw without risking my life to do so.” He started off, shutting his book as he did so. “Some examples would be the elixir of life or to make the mass weapon of destruction that could destroy the world with a button or the medicine to all diseases.”
“Drawings I could bring to life would be something like creatures, but I have to carefully make them since they have their own minds and wouldn’t mindlessly listen to me. I can’t make them super strong or wild or else they might rebel. I can draw things which are already available too, but you know, the stronger it is, the more tiring it is. I could make cool weapons though, like a mix of a scythe and gun and boom it’s real.” Joonyoung rambled on, doing some excessive gestures to emphasize on some points.
“What about you though, hun? I’m pretty sure it’s something cool too.” Joonyoung asked in return, curiosity settling in. There was a plethora of powers, all that had so much possibilities and could be so, so great. Personally, he loved his ability most but was interested in some other cool abilities too.

He didn’t buy her attempt to shake it off, shit.  Though really, Dahee wouldn’t have bought it either but that makes the situation even more frustrating.  She makes a mental note to call her mother after this and figure out how the heck a person is supposed to climb on wet rocks.  Specifically rocks that turn to mud so quickly.  It doesn’t help that she’s all too aware that her own lack of ability was going to hurt him in the long run as well.  He’s right, take your time idiot.  Much easier said than done when panic is bubbling in her chest.
“Are you hurt any?”
The question almost makes her laugh.  But more importantly it calms the storm raging in her mind for a moment.  Dahee risks a glance at her arm to find that out of habit it’s already started to heal itself.  The comfort in that is reassuring but not enough to ease her mind. Nevertheless, she manages to smile and looks down to Yukwon who is remarkably closer now.  “Health manipulation remember?”  How can she find the moxy to joke around at a time like this? “I’ll be okay.”  And of that she was quite certain.
“Go for the older looking trees, their roots should be deep eno--”  Her moment of reassurance is short lived as a particularly loud crack of thunder and crash of lightning resounds, leaving her ears ringing and Dahee swears she hears a tree crash to the forest floor below.  The saner part of Dahee’s brain in that moment wonders what will happen if she fails this course.  Would she get kicked out of the institute when she had only just begun?  Or could she take it over again?  The less sane part—the one gripped with fear at the moment—has her pressing her face against her forearm and screams in surprise.
That’s embarrassing.
Taking a deep breathe she looks up at their target just a few feet from them.  “Fucking thunderstorms.  I hate lightning.”  Her grumbling grows to a yell by the last word but is drowned out by another clap of thunder.  “Sorry, not helping I know.  Trees, and look for darker rocks—I think those should be better?”  Or was it lighter ones?  She can’t remember right now.  To test the theory, she grasps a sturdier looking rock which seems to hold better.  However, in the process the rock her foot was on before slides off and down the cliff face.
“Are you okay?”  She questions, concerned and slightly frantic. What she wouldn’t give to be something more than a ridiculous support class.  Something more than someone after a battle is won or lost.  Particularly in regards to her partner whom she had actually grown fond of over the last few months.  But as she turns to look down at him with frantic and wide eyes, the sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach resurfaces ten fold.
levels | kim yukwon & min dahee
“We can do this. We can,” Dahee’s voice made Yukwon connect with reality once again, his tunnel vision dissipating as he looked up to find his partner again, the distance between them closing due to the rain. “One level at a time. Just keep your head up and stay on target,” while the words were meant to be uplifting, he was losing his grip on the earth and he could feel his body growing warmer- a bad sign.
Yukwon meant to respond, but the sky cried out, loud thunder redirecting his thoughts back to the climb. The shower of rain, real and wet against his skin, soaked his clothing and weighed his body down so that each movement was harder than before. The muddy cliff was becoming unforgiving underneath his hold, rocks sinking to where his fingers were digging deep into the sludge to keep from losing his grip. Even Dahee became a victim to the changes in the earth, closing the gap between them a little further as she slid, causing Yukwon to reach up towards her, fear further bubbling at his core as he fell a few inches short of her feet.
There wasn’t a movie that had prepared him for such a specific situation and his eyes studied the immediate vicinity for a way to keep the two of them from falling, taking each vine, rock, and branch into consideration, hands planted deeply in the earth while he stalled. Yukwon hadn’t been known for his problem-solving skills, and the current scrimmage needed more than proficiency in climbing- there was a key to the successful run of this particular obstacle and they had yet to find it. It was time to think of a strategy.
“Dahee! Take your time!” he finally found his voice, ignoring the female’s ruse. “Just a few more feet and we can rest for a minute and regroup. Are you hurt any? There has to be a better way to beat this.”

The fact that Joonyoung was going along with this silly scheme of hers was endearing and quite a relief as well.  It isn’t exactly a crazy scheme but she figured that it would be less taxing than him trying to use his powers to draw in attention.  And if she was being truthful to herself, she kinda wanted to show off a bit.  Especially since she is usually the one doted upon between the two of them.  “Yeah, just hold still will you?”  She teases lightly, all too prepared to work quick enough that he wouldn’t have to squat too long.
Then he decides to use his powers anyway.  Dahee would have scolded him if not for the usefulness of his sketches in this instance.
She looks from the chairs to him and scoffs back a laugh.  “Why must you be so freakishly tall I swear.  I’m gonna fight all the tall people.”  The last part is muttered under her breath to herself.  Realizing she didn’t say thank you, Dahee sighs and pats his shoulder.  “Yes, much better, thank you.”  That’ll do.
Turning back to the table, she grabs a brush and quickly decides which colors she wants to use. Her focus however is momentarily broken with his question; she glances over at him amused in response.  Then grabs the brush and paint, starting her masterpiece. “Nothing too crazy, I do have the kissing booth after this you know.”  She wiggles an eyebrow suggestively but laughs immediately afterwards.  “Besides, they’ll be too impressed with this awesome lion. And hold still darn it.”
But Dahee doesn’t wait for him to hold still or stop talking as she quickly works to form a lion’s face, starting with the golden yellow around most of the face and switching to white around the mouth.  “Instead of Fairy God Mother, I’m going to start calling you Joon-lion.”
Brush strokes | Joonyoung & Dahee
Joonyoung had painted faces before, he’d done all sorts of painting honestly, which was why he decided to agree to do the booth with Dahee. Plus, he’d be a shameful Fairy Godmother if he didn’t agree, that would just be rude.
He was also inclined to bring out a few of his weaker creatures for display purposes, but Dahee suggested drawing on their faces to do so. Sure he could still put the creatures on display, but the urge disappeared. His face was the first to be painted, but the height difference caused difficulties, much to his amusement. He spreads his legs to decrease his height and make it easier for Dahee, Grinning at her “Alright, make me look fierce and fabulous Cin-Dahee-lla. And this is better right?”
It was better than squatting, but then he had a realization and took out a small sketchbook, quickly sketching on a pair of chairs, before bringing them too life. “Nevermind, this is better.”
Taking a seat, comfortably sitting with his legs crossed and back hunched, he gestured for her to plop down on the chair and to start painting his face. “There we go, now our lives had just become so much more easier.”
“And oooohh, what do you want your face to look like when I paint it, I can like, totally make you looks so dope that everyone would be amazed when they see you.” He laughed, amusement and joy dancing in his eyes.

About an hour in, Dahee realized she wasn’t being fair to Sana but that wasn’t going to drag her away from her phone.  When the other had suggested the idea, Dahee thought it would be pretty hilarious all things considered.  But as soon as they arrived Dahee quickly grew disinterested in the whole thing, not even sure why she signed up in the first place.  It reminded her of the last time she decided to work at the kissing booth in high school and while that had been quite a bit of fun it was also aggravated. Granted with this one at least nobody had acted too over the top.  Yet.
When hour two rolls around and Sana comes over, that is when she knows that trouble is brewing. Looking up from her phone, she pouts at the other, her nose scrunching up slightly.  “What are you talking about?  They’re all here to kiss you anyway—can’t we start the plan later?” Her plea seems to fall on deaf ears as she is dragged forward, her phone left behind at her chair.  Standing at the front, Dahee does her best to put on a cute smile for those that pass by but feels awkward about it nonetheless.
Then Sana had to go and make it worse.
With the announcement, she looks over at the other wishing in that moment that looks could kill. But there isn’t enough time to yell at the other and she wasn’t keen on making a scene either.  I am so not getting paid enough for this.  She sighs and glances over at Sana again.  “They probably think they’re getting two kisses from you.”  Despite that, she does her due diligence and begins to kiss others as well, always being sure to take the dollar first. Although a part of her had to admit it was slightly endearing the blushes on some of their cheeks afterwards. Still didn’t have her warming up to the idea completely however.  When there is a short break she leans over to Sana and whispers somewhat teasingly, “Better not let me have that megaphone or I’ll say it’s three kisses just from you.” But the size of the line doesn’t really allow for much banter in the matter.  Of course that would be a perfect opportunity to play their little game as well.
SMOOCHED! || SaHee
@nxdahee
They were at the half of their shift, 6pm already and Dahee haven’t kissed anyone at all, and that was taking all the fun away from it. Their deal was to trick people onto thinking the most popular girl in school was gonna kiss them, just to have them be kissed by Dahee instead. So once the last one in the line was kissed, Sana approached her with a huge grin– before anyone else could line up again.
“What are you doing?” She said with a mischievous smile as she tilted her head. The female was too immersed in her phone and was literally being a party pooper and Sana could even pout about it. “Why am I doing all the kissing?” She said and whined a bit, tugging from her arm. “Dahee, you’re missing all the fun!” She said and chuckled, gently dragging her to the from of the booth just when new clients started to line up.
“COME TO THE KISSING BOOTH EVERYONE!” She said through a cute pink megaphone. “JUST FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES, YOU GET TWO KISSES INSTEAD OF ONE!” Sana had to laugh, Dahee’s face was hilarious! She was probably curssing at her on the inside but Sana didn’t cared. That’s what she gets for being a mean butt, plus she really needed to losen up. The amount of people after the announcement was unbearable, she highly doubted they would all get the two kisses. However she stood beside Dahee and started kissing people as well anyway so they could empty the booth a bit. Nudging the other she grinned. “I guess they like you more–” She teased.

Brush strokes | Joonyoung & Dahee
@joonyoungnx
Dahee is practically bouncing with excitement as she finishes setting up her section of the face painting booth.  When she heard they were going to open one, she jumped at the chance even if it meant she wouldn’t have much time between her shifts.  It’s completely worth it so long as she gets to have some fun painting faces, something she hasn’t done in several years—at least for anyone but herself. The opportunity to do so was too good to pass up, not to mention the chance to earn some pocket money in the process.
Getting Joonyoung to sign up for the same timeslot with her was all too easy, and a bit of a relief. She had been worried first that she would have to work it alone and second that the person who did sign up wouldn’t work well with her.  Of course with the other there that also meant that goofing off was far more likely.
So it’s really no surprise that not long after he arrived Dahee decided that in order to attract more attention they needed to display their talents more.  And what better way than to paint Joonyoung’s face?  It’s a completely brilliant plan, she swears that it is.  Plus, it would be a good way to pass the time until they started forming an actual line for the two of them to take care of it.  Except for the fact he’s way too tall and she can’t even reach up there properly.  This is why it’s good to have chairs at face painting stations.  “Lemme paint your face, I’m gonna turn you into a lion, mkay?” She speaks quickly and with an easy smile, while tugging on his shirt sleeve.  She questions him, even though in her mind he doesn’t really have a lot of say in the matter.

Normally, Dahee wouldn’t be overly thrilled at the continued presence of the other but the way he easily picks up on her joking demeanor she’s placated for now.  Even if the sweetheart comment is a bit irksome, but she’s been called worse so it’s not enough to aggravate her.  Yet anyway.  “Oh I will?” She questions with a small chuckle. “We’ll see about that won’t we?”
The book intrigues her. What exactly could he use it for? For some reason the answer feels obvious but she can’t quite put her finger on it, and that’s frustrating.  It’s likely something silly but still it has her intrigued nonetheless.
Her attention is drawn back in as he speaks and she can’t help it as one corner of her mouth turns up in a smile.  It had been a while since Dahee kept up with what flowers meant, but that didn’t mean she forgot them and the fact anyone else actually knew it was a gentle reminder of the good parts of home.  Of the flower shop down the street with the sweetest woman Dahee had ever met at the storefront.  Before Dahee can really interrupt her intended meaning however, he literally pulls the Jasmines from the page and she’s a little star struck.  Looking form the now blank page to the somehow real flowers, she tries to find something remarkable to say but fails, only a quiet ‘wow’ escapes her lips at first.
Carefully, she takes the flowers and observes them quietly for a moment.  This institute is certainly full of surprises.  “Jung Joonyoung,” she repeats with a small smile. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. Though know you have me curious. Can you bring any drawing at all to life?”  She wonders what that would be like, the ability to bring every figure in her imagination into reality.  A fascinating power indeed.

Ah, an awkward kid. Well, one who was not used to compliments at least. Lord was he going to be friends with her at least so he could shower her with compliments. He then nodded when she questioned him, looking mildly, but with a joking air to it, offended of how she didn’t seemed to believe he was going to make it work “Yeah sweetheart, it’s going to wow you and you’d be wishing for more!”
And oh, she seemed to have a vague idea of what he was hinting at, causing him to grin wide. Cute and quick, he was going to have fun being friends with her.
“Jasmines huh? You know that it could mean anything right, white for eternal love and sensuality, yellow for positive affection, friendship, joy and intellect, then all kinds of it for friendliness modesty and simplicity. Well, I’m definitely going to offer that all, maybe except the sensuality and modesty though, to you whether you like it or not by the way since I now declare you, Min Dahee to be a friend of mine. And to answere that question…” He stated with no room for any denials before he proceeded to do his ‘magic’. He searched for the pages with jasmines in it and pulled it out. Taking out the jasmines from the book, he left empty pages from where it used to belong and then took out a ribbon from his pocket, expertly tying it together with said ribbon.
“Min Dahee, a lovely name for a lovely girl. The name’s Jung Joonyoung and as you can see, I bring drawings to life.” He smiled at her with more sincerity to it as he handed her the bouquet.

When summer hangs in the air that is when one can truly feel alive.  Summers may come and go and games and festivals don’t last forever.  But among the lights and laughter come memories that will last hereafter.  Rather painting a tiger for a face or kisses for charity who knows what may arise at such a lovely time.  Even she wouldn’t dare to miss it.

Dahee isn’t entirely sure why her friend suddenly decided to get up and gesture for her to take his seat. One, that wasn’t exactly her intention, and two it aggravated her that he was being that sensitive over the issue when not three hours ago he told Dahee to make sure he cut off drinking if his playing went south.  Granted she probably could have been a little nicer about it but he’s also known her long enough to know that would be a rarity for her.  His muttering that she should just take over finally lures Dahee into his seat instead.
Right after she sits down, Dahee decides that this is definitely a bad idea.  Even walking away with a profit would annoy her, always far too tight with her money Dahee told herself gambling was a no a long time ago. And yet here she is.  It is her pride that keeps her in her place, though she may not always appear to have much, it does have a habit of luring her into stupid decisions.  So she downs the rest of the beer, pleased at the dull buzz it provides her with.  She’d sober up sooner rather than later anyway, her body none too keen on keeping toxins around.
Then Taehyung has to open his mouth and her mood goes sour instantly.  He’d be a little more pleasant to deal with if he never spoke. Far too cocky in regards to his looks and habits in her opinion and frankly most of the time she wanted to punch him in the face.  Or will herself to give him a rather horrible headache at the very least.  But she’s either too tolerant or not motivated enough for it right now because all she bothers with is a snort and a dismissive flick of her wrist.  “Would you shut up, honestly.”  People are annoying sometimes but Taehyung in particular really irks her to no end.
Foolishness | Tae & Dahee
Taehyung honestly had barely no memories of how was his life without spending every other night like this. However they would both be surprised as to how similar they are on the money topic– Taehyung is not one to recklessly engage in a dangerous bet that could end up in him losing most of his money. He wasn’t that stupid even if it seemed like it. More than a vice, it has became a strong hobby, not because he was addicted to money but to getting on people’s nerves. Specially on Dahee’s nerves, which was what provoked his smirk once she decided to finally join the game.
He was very observant man, and he definitely caught Dahee having more than a few drinks that night– that made her an easy target and he was not even the one teasing her to get into the game, but of course he would take an advantage of it to kick her ego. There was no way he was going to lose a round against her, he could have mercy since she was tipsy, but screw that– he was all in to piss her off and maybe have a good fuck later. No shame at all in his system– Dahee was one annoying bitch but she had a rocking body and whenever he had the chance of course he would tap that, more now that he also had a few drinks.
Taehyung’s lips embraced the tip of the beer bottle as he kept his gaze on her face– he would have smirked if he weren’t drinking from the bottle. He knew exactly why she was doing this and it was plainly dumb, but he was not going to be the one to stop her. Once she managed to make her friend move away and sat down, Taehyung could only snort at her confident stare to the others and started shuffling the cards– keeping a nonchalant and very annoying stare upon her face. “I hope you have enough money to lose tonight, beautiful.”
