"TikTok Ban Is The Way Forward" But The Japanese People Are Conflicted

TOKYO, JAPAN - This week, the United States' House of Representatives in Washington D.C has passed a bill banning TikTok in the United States, should its parent company, ByteDance, refuse a sale to an American counterpart within 6 months. While still being debated in the US Senate, this move has caused shockwaves across the tech world and now, the political world.

A local Japanese activist from a notable conservative, nationalist activist group, Arakasa 'Jones' Waru has been gaining traction on social media for his advocacy of a similar solution to the issue. "TikTok is a medium of Communist Subversion of the Japanese People!", he shouted today outside of the Diet, unaware that members were in recess for the season. "We ought to ban TikTok Now!". However, polls have shown that most Japanese people are still unaware of the TikTok Ban idea, and those who know about it, are spilt roughly equally on the idea. A man who was interviewed replied, "TikTok ban? What? How can I watch the entirety of The Sopranos for free if they ban it?"

Noted political commentator Jenii Ma has commented recently on the turmoil happening in the diet of Japan. "It is heartening to finally see the representatives who we pay oh so much finally write something. However, it looks like they have some issues with the US bases in Okinawa. What these issues have to do with article 9 is anyone's guess."

Notable political columnist Timoshii Kuu for The Kyoto Post has commented on the current debate raging in the Diet of Japan with a scathing essay titled " All talk no action in the diet?" Timoshii mentioned the lack of a roadmap to a bill addressing the debate on article 9. Although she commended the actions of some representatives in raising points, she wonders why there is a lack of conclusive substantive writing for the resolution. Timoshii echoed the comments made by Seannu Suguwara on his podcast, saying "Although he may have made those comments in protest, even mainstream commenters may have to take a similar view into consideration, given the lack of bills even proposed or shown in the diet recently."

Seannu is quoted as saying "The government has a duty to protect its nation, and to protect its nations interests. The Japan Herald, a tabloid reporting on juicy entertainment gossip and the "big news that everyone should hear from the grapevine" has come out with the breaking news that there have been rumours of a cabinet reshuffle? Leaks have come out that the CDP-SDP coalition in the House of Representatives have failed to even have one vote towards their nominated party whip! One member of the public with a raspy voice, seeming to float above the ground was interviewed. Going by the name of Shinzo Abe, they were recorded saying "Is the House of Representatives a farce? Will both parties CDP and SDP dissolve seeing that they don't have a member of the diet to keep them to their parties stances?"

Another leak has come out that the CDP-SDP have decided to alliance themselves with Reiwa forming a three party coalition, and that a new whip may be nominated soon. The public awaits any further developments in this situation.
