- on the coast, before gendry is due to sail back to storm’s end, and arya to the west of westeros. arya sneaks up besides gendry in the quiet way she sneaks up on people

- arya: lord’s life suits you

- gendry turns but isn’t startled by her sudden appearance. his eyes seem sad but contented all at once. he doesn’t reply, testing what she wants.

- arya: how do you like storms end?

- gendry sighs but softens at her friendly approach.

- gendry: it’s big.

- arya: a lord can do better than ‘big’.

- they chuckle at the old, almost forgetten joke. one they made before the long night. before they..

- gendry: what are you going to do now? stay and council bran? be hand to your sister? see the wall with jon?

- she considers her answer for a moment.

- arya: i’m going to command a ship west of westeros.

- gendry: what’s there?

- arya: no one knows. it’s where all the maps stop.

- a silence as gendry shifts on his feet. he knows this is goodbye.

- arya: i might command it to storm’s end, one day, if that’s alright?

- gendry smiles knowingly

- gendry: you’re always welcome at storm’s end, m’lady.

- in the same teasing tone of their youth she replies

- arya: thank you, m’lord.

- he goes to speak, say something witty or stupid, but she stops him with a quick kiss on his lips before turning away to leave as quick as she arrived.

- gendry calls her name and she stops half way down the beach, a few feet away, and spins to look at him.

- gendry: come back

- it’s not a question and she knows it. she smiles

- gendry: i���ll wait for you. i told you once that none of this would be worth anything without you. that’s still true. i’ll wait.

- she gives a small, understanding nod and walks away to her ship.

Well fuck D&D, they’ve literally ruined the entire fucking show’s legacy with their poor writing.

If anyone asks me, the series ended with Jaime and Brienne happily married, Sansa and Tyrion married once more and uniting the Starks and Lannisters once and for all, and…well, that’s all I really wanted to be honest.

All I want out of episode 6, all I fucking want, is a scene with Gendry awkwardly wandering the halls of Storm’s End.

Regardless who takes the throne, he got his title, he’s got all of Storm’s End, he’s got loyal men and women who acknowledge him as Lord Baratheon. The very last Baratheon left in all of Westeros. 

But he’s utterly lost with what he’s supposed to do now.

Sure, he’s a lord but what does that even mean? He tells people what to do but what is he meant to do? He was a blacksmith only a few months ago for gods’ sake.

A servant comes to him and tells him he has a guest. He half hopes it’s someone there to tell him they’re taking Storm’s End back from him, when through the door walks Arya. She’s still dirty and exhausted from her time in King’s Landing and looks like she’s going to cry just seeing him. 

There’s an awkward pause between the two of them before Arya tells him “Ask me again.” 

And suddenly, at least for these two, the future looks a little bit brighter.
