Andreas Ulvo + Slagr - Softspeaker - release 2.11.12
When Ulvo first heard the norwegian contemporary folk music ensemble Slagr, he immediately heard his own piano laying on top of their ambient sound. This discovery eventually led to Ulvo writing music for the ensemble, aiming to melt his musical preferences in to one unit. Slagr seemed like the natural choice, an already existing and unique blend of instrumentalists; Anne Hytta on harding fiddle, Sigrun Eng on cello and Amund Sjølie Sveen on vibraphone. “Softspeaker” is a well balanced mix of light and darkness, of the sad and the happy.
"Softspeaker" is released on the label Atterklang.

Skaarbrevik writes music for dance piece in Brasil
Kristian Skaarbrevik has worked with choreographers Katiana Pena Morais and Silvana Marques on the dance piece “Três peels - Three types of skin”. Writing forty minutes of new music to their dance piece “Three types of skin” premieres June 29th in Fortaleza, Brasil. Two performances will be at Centro Cultural Bom Jardim (CCBJ) in june and four at Dragão do Mar in august. Music by Kristian Skaarbrevik from the dance piece will be released fall 2012.
