Okay, this is in incredibly petty nitpick, but: if you’re writing a fantasy setting with same-sex marriage, a same-sex noble or royal couple typically would not have titles of the same rank - e.g., a prince and a prince, or two queens.

It depends on which system of ranking you use, of course (there are several), but in most systems there’s actually a rule covering this scenario: in the event that a consort’s courtesy title being of the same rank as their spouse’s would potentially create confusion over who holds the title by right and who by courtesy, the consort instead receives the next-highest title on the ladder.

So the husband of a prince would be a duke; the wife of a queen, a princess; and so forth.

(You actually see this rule in practice in the United Kingdom, albeit not in the context of a same-sex marriage; the Queen’s husband is styled a prince because if he were a king, folks might get confused about which of them was the reigning monarch.)

The only common situation where you’d expect to see, for example, two queens in the same marriage is if the reigning monarchs of two different realms married each other - and even then, you’d more likely end up with a complicated arrangement where each party is technically a princess of the other’s realm in addition to being queen of her own.

You’ve gotta keep it nice and unambiguous who’s actually in charge!

stranger things - 10K; MatsuHana; Hanamaki Takahiro and Matsukawa Issei started a radio show out of Aoba Johsai’s abandoned A/V room and accidentally became the two most popular guys in school.

Purcell - 11K; IwaOi; Tooru’s got a busy semester lined up, so he shouldn’t have time to worry about one irritating classmate following him around. And yet… (Companion piece to Postcard)

Postcard - 10K; IwaOi; Hajime’s been followed around campus by a series of assholes all semester. It would be stupid as hell if they were all the same person. (Companion piece to Purcell)

Third time’s the charm - 21.5K (WIP); IwaOi; There are lines you just don’t cross with your best friend. Someone probably should have told them that.

Police Dog - 35K; KyouHaba; Yahaba takes home a gruff looking, beat up dog. He patches his ear, and wraps his leg, and goes to sleep. The next morning he wakes up to a hot guy rummaging through his kitchen.

How do feelings even work? - 33.5K (WIP); KageHina; An unfortunate incident involving a cat and his dick patterned boxers leads to Kageyama meeting his new neighbour.

you’re looking like you fell in love tonight - 35K; IwaOi; “You want me to help Oikawa Tooru, a guy I barely know, because your boyfriend owes him a favor?” [In which Iwaizumi pretends to be Oikawa’s boyfriend.]

Running In Place - 24.5K (WIP); KyouHaba; Kyoutani had stopped going to volleyball practice, but he hadn’t stopped going to volleyball, not entirely. He would make it to the Seijou locker room, but he never made it on to the court.

the whole of the moon - 36K (WIP); IwaOi; Hajime just wants to get his graveyard shift over and go home. He doesn’t really want to get involved in a government plot involving aliens, a definite breach of - well, not human rights, but definitely some sort of rights - and a hot guy driving him halfway across the country. But here he is.

in defense of our overgrown garden - 2.5K; IwaOi; In which Ushijima tries very hard to be a good neighbour to the new tenants next door.
