“I HATE MY LIPS”

After I took this boy’s picture, I was told by his mom how self conscious he is about his vitiligo that’s developed over the past year. She told me that he hates his lips. He avoids looking at himself in the mirror and can hardly smile in pictures because he can’t bear the thought of his “ugly” lips being preserved in photographs. Can y'all do me a favor and like or reblog this? I wanna show him this post so he can see how poppin he actually is. I want him to realize that his skin is flawless and that his vitiligo is just an additional mark of distinction to the already unique beauty that is Blackness, in all of its various shades.

so how long do you think its gonna take for black men to start complaining about seeing Beyonce & the twins all over their timeline and, inevitably, one nigga to make a tweet/meme that aims at shaming black women (ie. “All yall hoes do is get pregnant, idk why yall making such a big deal of Beyonce’s pregnancy ” / “yall dumb hoes stay worried about this bitch who don’t even know who u are ”) which many niggas will then repost with their captions including the 😂 & the 💯 emojis because they literally hate to see black women enjoying anything ever ?

me: i really hate the specific makeup culture that veils itself in feminist rhetoric but at its core is nothing more than a way to convince young girls to spend hundreds of dollars on products they don't need in order to feel comfortable with their own appearance

some man: i wish girls would wear less makeup, they look so much prettier without it :)

me: makeup is a centuries-old art form and one of the only ones that has been primarily historically led by women and to impose your male gaze preference in this way is an insult to the collective female genealogical artistic memory and I Will Not Stand For It
