I think i’m at a moment in my life where I have learned to be selfish. I don’t mean like materialistically selfish. (although thats never bad) I mean selfish in terms of time and energy. 

I have grown and learned that time is more valuable than money. The sixteen years I got with Elias were not enough. The four months I had in South America were not enough. My time in undergrad came and left. My time being with my best friends in California has temporarily stopped. My time with my mother is soon going to end, with my father too. How did I maximize the time I did have with people that I love? How did I maximize time I had to myself to grow and heal?  As a student, I am horrible with my time. I procrastinate so much, but thats because I use my time to feed my soul, to do things that make me happy. If you are a real one in my life, you know how much value I place on happiness, joy, and laughter. I am one of those people who has requirements in order for you to be considered my friend, you gotta make me laugh. 

This is why I only have 5 best friends. Other people, they come and go. They show up in my life when its convenient for them. Yeah maybe they care for me, and I appreciate that immensely, but the people I will ride and die for, thats only 5 people. 

People always describe me as a “down ass individual”. There’s reasons for that. I have lost too many people in life, I have hurt too much, I have cried, and invested so much energy in people that did not value my humanity, time, and heart. I am done messing with people like that. I’m done wasting time. 

I’ve had men tell me that I am heartless, that I play too many games (LOL), that I am bold or that they admire how honest and straightforward I am. The fact that you admire me for that makes me laugh out loud because baby boy, what the fuck are you doing with your time? Don’t waste it. I’ve learned that if I need something, I gotta ask for it. No jumping around wasting time hoping people will be able to read my mind. 

I hope this New year, I learn to be organized, efficient, and successful with my time. <3
