to whom it may concern-- it is ok to mischaracterize fictional characters lol. i remember a couple years ago when I was first reading fanfic and I decided I wanted to write my own, but then I remembered that there was (and is) a lot of people talking about how hcs and fics always seem to make the characters ooc

there's nothing wrong with that because literally everyone will have a different opinion when it comes to how characters will behave in completely fictional scenarios, and they will never align perfectly with someone else's

but at the end of the day, it's all in your head and the point of creating art for stuff you enjoy is to have fun, so if you think your blorbo would listen to a specific song or if they would call you an affectionate petname or if they have stuffed animals- then they do. because it's your fic and you decide what's going to happen.

also chances are, a lot of people will enjoy what you make and agree with your characterisation anyway. so try it out

in any case, we are still here, and we need your help.

due to relentless bombing for more than 40 continuous days, much of our cities and villages in Artsakh have been destroyed. houses, buildings, streets, churches, cultural centres. on top of the destruction and death this war has brought to my people, we are struggling to cope with covid - number of new cases have been steadily increasing since the war broke out, for obvious reasons. Armenians of the diaspora have been donating since the war broke out (and even before that, because it is with our donations that we built Artsakh after the first war 30 years ago). we are a small country, with limited resources, and this war and pandemic has put a strain on us. we were struggling before, but now we need all the help we can get.

Nearly every sf writer who's ever toured the west coast knows Duane - he's the encyclopedically knowledgeable sf buyer for the U Washington Bookseller, who has organized some of the best sf signings in Seattle history. He's a force of nature.

He's also broke. A two-week hospital stay left him drowning in medical debt - despite being insured! - and now he's being threatened by a collection agency.

Now, Duane is forced into participating in one of the most barbaric of contemporary American rituals, fundraising to cover his medical debt. He's raised $6k of the $10k he needs (I just pitched in $100).
