Google Ads 101 - Call-Only Ads
Tumblr media
Well, Google Ads is offering Call-Only ads now. What are they? They are search ads that only show the business' number so you can call them to make a purchase or inquire about their product/service. Unsurprisingly, they can help small businesses improve their advertising campaigns significantly. Let's see in more detail what they are, how they can help you, and how to utilize Call-Only Ads properly in your advertising campaign.
What Are Call-Only Ads?
It's pretty much straight-up advertising with nothing but your phone number on it. There is no headline, no description, just your business phone number in big, bold letters. That will increase conversions for businesses that offer services that consumers would be interested in purchasing over the phone. Even if they don't end up purchasing that service when they call the business, it'll put them in the 'prospect' bucket for later down the line when they may need an additional service offered by that business. It's not just a phone number, though - it's a Call-Only ad. It is an extension of the Google Ads platform and can be used as a call extension to existing campaigns. That will allow businesses to create specific ads promoting their services over the phone for mobile or desktop search results. Okay, so this is an ad that shows up in search results. So why are they called 'Call-Only'? Well, ads with the Call-Only designation can only be clicked through by a user calling the phone number listed in the ad. How Can These Ads Help Your Business? Although it might seem counterintuitive at first due to lack of information, these ads help companies create more leads for lower costs than usual, thanks to their target audience's behavior. Before buying certain products or services, people often research online to see what other customers think of them. However, if someone wants to make a quick purchase, they may not do the research. That is where Call-Only ads come in. Since most people search Google to find information at home or on their commute back from work - near their computers, they are more likely to click on the Call-Only ad since it is marked as an ad. It is designed to attract their attention if they look for something specific that your business offers. You assumed that you finished your Search Engine Optimization homework before creating these ads. Since organic traffic will be less than usual with Call-Only ads, you'll need to achieve some significant rankings to gain some traffic. How Are These Ads Meant to Be Utilized? Call-Only ads are meant for businesses that offer products or services that consumers are most likely to call about - they are not necessarily buying online, but they would like more information. But, of course, that also means that you should answer their questions when they call. These ads consist of a phone number you need to display on your landing page to make the Call-Only ad work properly. In addition, you can use Google's Dynamic Number Insert technology which allows you to include dynamic phone numbers within your ad creative with the click of a button if you have many different phone numbers per business location. The best way to use these ads is by running them in conjunction with your traditional ads. First, make sure you are already running Search Ads for your business location and have a Call-Only ad pointing to the correct number. Once this is done, Google will display your Call-Only ads when somebody searches on mobile devices for keywords that people use to call businesses of your type. The Bottom Line On Call-Only Ads Call-Only ads extend the Google Ads platform that helps businesses capture more calls at lower costs. However, they are not meant for all types of companies - only those that would like to increase their phone call conversions by increasing their mobile presence. If you're aiming to improve your mobile advertising efforts with cost-effective ads, then try Call-Only ads in conjunction with your current Search Ads campaign! Read the full article

Google favors websites that are available in multiple languages. That is because they understand the needs of their users. If you want to be in the top three spots in Google's results, adding translated versions is an excellent spot to start.
Targeting People Outside The United States

There are over three billion people online. But less than 25% of them speak English. If you're targeting a global audience, you must ensure your content is available in different languages. However, there's some good news: you can do this in a few ways. One way is to use a translation service. Many companies offer translation services, so you'll need one that fits your needs. That includes translating the text to changing the images and even the tone of voice. It's important to remember that localization is more than just translation. It's about making sure the content is relevant and relatable to the people in the specific market you're targeting. Now that you understand the basics of localization, let's check how you can translate your content:
Use Google's Translate Plugin
To start with localization, you can use tools like Google's Translate plugin or professional translation services like Gengo or Smartling. These tools easily translate your website content into various languages, allowing you to reach a wider audience and capture more potential customers.
High-Quality Customer Support
Another critical step in growing your traffic through translations is to provide high-quality customer support in those languages. And this may include engaging with users on social media platforms, offering online chat support, or setting up dedicated telephone lines or email accounts specifically for non-English speaking users.
Translate Social Media Profiles
In addition to the site, it's also important to translate your social media profiles. That will ensure that you can engage effectively with your audience on those platforms. You can also use Google Translate; however, it's important to remember that this tool is only sometimes accurate. So, to ensure high-quality translations, consider using a professional translation service.
Final Thoughts
Adding translations to your website is a great way to reach a wider audience and grow your traffic. But it's important to remember that localization is more than just translation. It would also help if you focused on providing high-quality customer support in those languages. Read the full article

A Beginner's Guide To Building Editorial Links For SEO Success
Tumblr media
The best way to earn is to create something great and share it with as many people as possible. While this is common sense, we often spend too much time gaming the system or obsessing over metrics instead of concentrating on creating great content. If you want an editorial link, you will need: - A great piece of content - An influential blogger who cares about the same things you do. - A quick email asking for a link saying exactly why they should link to your content. It is a guide to step 1 - creating great content. We have covered how to find bloggers who need your help and what you can offer them in another post, which you can read here. This guide assumes that you have discovered influential bloggers - now you need to give them something great for linking. Your Content Must Be Better Than What Is Already There Why would an influential blogger want to link to your content? If it's just because it's work that they would otherwise link to anyway, what you're offering is not that different from a guest post. It would help if you gave bloggers a reason to link to your content over and above that it's on topic and of high quality. To make sure you've stood out: - Check their posts - has the blogger linked similar posts in previous weeks? If so, what makes your content different? - See how their site is structured - does it match up with yours? If not, think about why that might be and try to better something that fits that structure. - If their posts usually have lots of images, can you provide great visuals for them? If they typically post long-form content, can you bring something to the table that's a little more in-depth?
Your Content Must Be Better Than Your Own
Even if you're confident that your content is impressive, remember that they've seen your site before. It knows what sort of quality to expect from you. If your site is hard to navigate or all your posts are poorly formatted, their readers will see that reflected in the link. If you've created the sort of content that has people commenting and tweeting, then your link will be welcomed as an addition to the 'conversation,' but remember, not everyone who reads the post will see those comments. Take some time to read through their site and look for areas where yours might stand out better than their usual links.
The Link Must Be Relevant
Just because you can get a link doesn't mean you should, and it certainly doesn't permit you to get it. If your content is that good, people will want to share it anyway - your job is to make it as easy for them to do that. If you're planning on offering a link in return, then the only way that will work is if you've made it relevant. To earn a link, people have to feel like they'd be doing their readers a disservice by not posting the link. The title of the post should be directly related to the content. The URL should match the title and be keyword-rich. A link in your author bio is a bonus if they choose to do so, but it's not acceptable to ask for one in return for a link or any other form of payment.
Make It Easy For Them To Link To You
When you're reaching out to bloggers, ask if it's okay for you to share the post on Twitter and give them a 'via' link at the bottom directing readers back to your site. This way, it's easy for readers to find the best content, and the blogger gets credit for sharing. Don't let links back to your site be an afterthought - they should be as easy to add as possible so the more generous bloggers will do it without being asked. If there's a particular page you want to be linked to, tell them and include the URL in your email. A no-follow link will prevent the other site from penalizing in search rankings. To add your links to your content, use your keyword in an appropriate place - usually in the first paragraph where it's easy for people scanning the page to spot.
Closing Thoughts
Link building is a long, slow process. If you do not see results after doing everything we have suggested above, it's time to re-think what you're offering and make sure your site isn't the reason why people don't want to link to you. Read the full article

You've probably heard of terms like "keywords" and "backlinks," but what do they mean? How to use them to improve your website's ranking on Google? If you're starting to feel like you're in over your head, don't worry. We're here to help with a simple yet effective SEO tip for beginners: target long-tail keywords.
Why Target Long-Tail Keywords?
Long-tail keywords are phrases (usually 3-4 words) specific to what you're selling. Let's look at this example: if you sell shoes, a long-tail keyword you target could be "women's size eight black leather heels." What Do Long-tail Keywords Have To Do With SEO? Targeting specific, relevant keywords on your website tells Google what your website is about. That, in turn, helps Google determine when to show your website as a result of relevant searches. So let's say someone searches for "buy shoes online." If your website sells shoes and you have a page optimized for that keyword, then there's a good chance your website will appear in the search results. On the other hand, if you're starting and need optimized pages, then it's unlikely that your website will appear. So start targeting long-tail keywords to increase your chances of appearing in relevant searches.
How To Build Links On Quora?
One of the best ways to target long-tail keywords is to answer questions on Quora, a question-and-answer platform with millions of monthly users. It's one of the top 100 websites on the Internet, so you can be sure there's a lot of traffic. When you answer questions on Quora, include a link to your website. That is called a "backlink" and is an important ranking factor for SEO. The more backlinks you have from high-traffic websites, the higher your website rank on Google. Look for keywords related to your business on Quora to find relevant questions to answer. If you sell shoes, you could search for "shopping" or "fashion." Once you've found a few relevant questions, take some time to write thoughtful, well-researched answers. Remember to include a link to your website in your solution's "Source" section. If you do this consistently, you'll see an uptick in traffic to your website.
How To Use AnswerThePublic?
AnswerThePublic is a helpful tool that allows you to find all of the popular Quora questions people are asking. It makes finding relevant questions to answer a breeze, and it's a great way to think of ideas for your blog or website. To use AnswerThePublic, you must head to the website, type in the keywords related to your niche, and hit the search bar. You'll get a list of the popular questions people are asking about your topic. Pick a few of the most relevant questions and start answering them on Quora. And remember: a link to your website or blog must be included in the text so you can get those all-important backlinks.
Closing Thoughts
Everything takes time - well - everything except building links. With this tip, you can start seeing results pretty quickly. Remember to be consistent and focus on providing value with your answers. If you can do that, you'll see an increase in traffic and, eventually, higher rankings on Google. Read the full article

Unveiling the 5 Key Factors Behind Underperforming Facebook Ads
Tumblr media
Social media ads are a necessary evil. We all know we need to do them, but sometimes they seem to need fixing as well as we'd like. So if your Facebook ads are underperforming, don't despair. It could be any one of many reasons. Today, we will count the five most common reasons for Facebook ad underperformance.
The Post Is Unavailable
The first entry we have is a no-brainer. If your post is unavailable, no one will see it. That means no likes, no shares, and no clicks. So make sure that your post is published and set to Public. If it's not, no one will be able to see it, no matter how much you spend on ads. You can check the availability of your post by looking at the top left-hand corner of the post. If it says "Unpublished Page" or "Only Me," your post is not in Public mode.
Your Ad Is Under Review
If your ad is undergoing review, no one will see it. That's just the way Facebook works. Instead, they review ads to ensure they comply with Facebook's Advertising Policies. But this can sometimes cause delivery delays or even prevent ads from being shown. If your ad is under review, you'll see an "Ad Review in Progress" message in the ad's top left-hand corner. Once the assessment is complete, your ad will start.
Account Spending Limit
If you're new to Facebook advertising, you may have yet to learn of this, but there's a limit to how much you can spend on ads. That is called the account spending limit, and it protects new advertisers from overspending. The account spending limit is the equivalent of a credit limit. It's the maximum amount you can spend on ads in a day. Once it reaches the limit, the ads will stop. If you're wondering why your ads have stopped running, the account spending limit is an excellent place to start. You can check your spending limit in the Billing section of your Facebook Ads account.
Your Audience is Too Narrow
Another common reason for Facebook ad underperformance is a too-narrow audience. That happens when you target your ads too narrowly and exclude potential customers who could be interested in your product or service. When you create a Facebook ad, you can target a particular audience. But sometimes, that can be too narrow. Now, there's nothing wrong with niche marketing. But if your audience is too small, you're not going to get the reach you need to make your ads effective. To avoid this problem, ensure you accept potential customers with your targeting options. Include a wide range of interests, demographics, and behaviors in your target audience. The wider your net, the more likely you are to catch potential customers.
The Ad Engagement Low
Engagement is a critical ad metric. It measures how much people interact with your ad. The more engagement your ad has, the better. Several factors can affect ad engagement. But one of the most common is needing more content. You must include as much relevant information as possible in your ad. The more content you have, the more likely people will engage with it. You can check your ad engagement by looking at the "Engagement" column in your Facebook Ads account. If you see a low engagement rate, try adding more content to your ad.
Closing Thoughts
If your Facebook ads are underperforming, don't despair. It's not a huge deal; it always happens, and many solutions exist. Start with the five most common reasons for Facebook ad underperformance. Once you identify the problem, you can take steps to fix it and get your ads back on track. Read the full article

Link Building - Reclaim Links Through Social Mentions
Tumblr media
For most marketers, link building is the core piece in their SEO strategy. Link building has evolved and tools to automate the process. Many ways can build links for your website. Most of these traditional methods still work amazingly well, but one thing I've seen work exceptionally well is social mentions. It's not hard to do, and it doesn't have to be time-consuming every month. I've been doing this for now, and I'm stoked about the results. Do you want to know how I reclaimed backlinks through social mentions? Keep reading!
Step 1: Identify Your Target Keywords
First, identify keywords that are relevant to your website. If you don't know which keywords to use, pick one keyword for now and do not try too hard because you will miss out on some golden opportunities. You'll be surprised how many backlinks these mentions can bring you. For example, I picked this article's keyword 'link building.' If you go to Google, type 'link building,' and click on the first search result, you'll land on my website. Just follow your instinct and try it out!
Step 2: Identify Sites That Are Mentioning Your Target Keywords
If you have your keyword, it's time to find sites mentioning it. There are a lot of tools out there that can help you with this step. Here I will use BuzzSumo. Go to BuzzSumo and enter your website or keyword into the search bar. You're looking for the total number of mentions, as shown below. Now you have all the websites that are mentioning your keyword. The next step is to contact these people and politely ask for a mention on their site or link back to your site.
Step 3: Mentions & Linkbacks
Now it's time to build some links! I will tell you my strategy below, but please note that you need to develop your strategy. Most of the time, when I mentioned a site in an article using my keyword, they would automatically add a link to my website without me even asking! But sometimes, you have to ask nicely and offer them a backlink in return. I never ask for a 'backlink' because I want the site to link to me because it's relevant and it makes sense. It's super easy, and all you have to do is shoot an email.
Step 4: Analytics
You may have a good understanding of how many links you have now, but if you want to be 100% sure, I'd recommend looking at your analytics. In Google Analytics, click on Acquisition > Search Engine Optimization. Click Internal Links and select the primary dimension as Landing Page, then sort from high to low. You'll know which pages are getting the most backlinks.
Step 5: Social Mentions
Now that you have your keyword(s) and backlinks, it's time to find the sites that are talking about you! To do this: - Follow the same steps as above. - Log in to BuzzSumo and go to Social > Mentions. - Paste your website URL there, search for your keywords, and click on all the profiles mentioning you. - Don't forget to show appreciation and thank them! Now check your analytics to see if it worked. That's all there is to it, but I'd like to share a few more tips: - Find out which sites are linking back to you - Reach out on Twitter - Find people using your Product / Service - Use Followerwonk to find relevant influencers - Use the Chrome extension Linkclump to see who shared what link and reach out!
Closing Thoughts
Link building has changed, and social mentions are a great way to build links for your website. It's easier than ever now as you can reach out to people without even getting on the phone or using email. Hoping this article helped you understand how to reclaim backlinks through social mentions! Link Building - Establish Content Pillars
Tumblr media
As SEOs, we hear much advice about what makes content rank well. Sometimes it's in the form of an oft-repeated quote like "content is king," and sometimes, it comes in the form of specific criteria like "provide comprehensive answers to your users' questions." Content is indeed king - we can start by saying that. On the other hand, there's a ton of content out there, and while it may be "king," not all content is created equal. That can pose a challenge because you'll need to find a way to make your content stand out, which means you must identify your unique value proposition (UVP). You can then use that UVP to shape the content you develop across your site.
What Are Content Pillars?
A content pillar is a sort of "theme" that unifies the material you develop on your site. Another name for them is "themes," but we're going to use the term "pillars" here because it implies more permanence than a theme does. Most of us have multiple pages where we discuss topics with similar information. Still, if you have many pages about one specific subject, you probably have many content pillars. If your site is in an extremely narrow niche, this might be the case - something like "e-cigarettes" or "sunscreen with aloe." There's nothing wrong with this, and you might be able to write an entire book on a handful of pages if your site covers a topic like this. The written word isn't the only content you can provide - video and audio content can also be extremely useful for attracting links. You could develop podcasts that focus on specific topics or create video interviews with experts to put together a library of resources. How Can You Identify Content Pillars? First, figure out what topics you've already covered on your site. That might take some digging through past content, but there's also a more straightforward way: look at the pages where you're getting the most traffic. Most of the time, those pages will be where you've got content that's most closely related to what people are searching for on search engines. So if we look at a site like Backlinko and head over to the blog, we can see they've written extensively about link building: If we click through and see the site's most popular content on this subject, we can see that Brian has covered topics ranging from "how to build links" to "why link building is dead." With this information, you can develop new content ideas based on people's preferences. You have a good idea of the topics your site already covers, and you can take that knowledge and build on it. How Can You Use Content Pillars For Link Building? When you've done your research and started identifying content pillars for your site, it's time to translate that into links. First, look for people who have written about related topics and build relationships. Then, when you're ready to approach them with a guest post opportunity, ask if they'd be interested in your pillar or providing their expertise on the topic. When we head back over to Brian's site, he has a great resource on link building that's filled with information on this topic. And when looking at that page, we can see that there are plenty of people who would be interested in linking to it: Brian has linked some excellent resources for learning more about link building. If you were looking to inquire about linking to his page, you might consider reaching out to the people Brian has linked to and asking for a link in return. Building relationships with other site owners is one of the essential ingredients when you're looking for links. It's much easier to get someone to link to your page if they think highly of you, so make sure you make building those connections part of your link-building strategy. Of course, simply asking for a link isn't the only way to benefit from content pillars and relationships. When you offer valuable information in your outreach emails and include an idea about how you could work together, there's a good chance people might want to help you out without any link request at all.
In Conclusion
Content pillars are a great way to ensure your site covers all of its bases. You can identify these themes by looking at popular pages and relationships with other site owners, then use that information when promoting your content or reaching out for links. Read the full article

Enhancing Your Instagram Story Engagement: Tips And Tricks
Tumblr media
You have an Instagram account. So does your best friend, your mom, and that one random person you met at a party once. Businesses are on Instagram too, and they're trying to figure out how to use this social media platform to engage with customers. But everyone is on Instagram doesn't mean they're all using it equally. There are quite a few engagement tactics that the top 10% of users are utilizing. Let's take a look at some of the ways you can step up your Instagram story engagement game:
Do Q&As With Followers
A good way to get to know your followers and what they're interested in is to do regular Q&As. You can answer audience questions about anything, from your product to their industry. Not only does this help you better understand your followers, but it also allows them to understand your brand better. As a bonus, Q&As are a great way to generate leads – ensure you're clear about how you'll use the information you collect.
Perform Pop Quizzes
Do you want to know what your followers think about your brand? Then, try conducting a pop quiz! Pop quizzes are a fun way to get people to interact with your story; they can be about anything – from product knowledge to current events. Make sure you offer a prize for the winners and let everyone know what the prize is upfront. That will help ensure that people actually take the quiz and don't just skip through your story.
Ask Followers About Your Products
If you're looking for feedback about your products, Instagram stories are a great place to get it. Ask your followers directly about what they think of your product, or conduct a survey. Surveys are great for collecting data from many people and can be anonymous if you want them to be. Just make sure you make it clear that the survey is optional and that everyone who participates will be entered to win a prize.
Share Leaders From Industry Experts
A great way to get people interested in your story is to share quotes or advice from industry leaders. You can either post these quotes as images or use the text tool to overlay the quote on a photo. That is a great way to show that you're up-to-date on industry news and always looking for new ways to improve your product. Plus, it's a great way to get people to interact with your story.
Generate Leads Through Questions
Getting leads is a huge part of any business, and Instagram stories are a great place to generate them. You can run a giveaway or a contest and require people to answer a question to enter. Not only can you use this to generate leads, but you can also use it to get feedback about your product or service. Just ensure you're clear about how you'll use the information you collect.
Share Tips From Industry Influencers
You want to be seen as an industry expert, and one of the best ways to do that is to share tips from other industry leaders. Sharing tips from influencers shows that you're always looking to improve your product and understand what's happening in the industry. You can also connect with these guys and ask them to promote your product on their channels. That is a perfect way to get more brand exposure and build relationships with other industry leaders.
In Conclusion
These are just a few ways to step up your Instagram story engagement game. Don't be afraid to get creative and experiment with different tactics to see what works best for you and your audience. Read the full article

Unlocking The Benefits Of Featured Snippets
Tumblr media
To results on Google aren't what they used to be. Ok, we don't mean that they're worse in any way. They're more helpful. But they do look different. They aren't only links; you can see questions and answers, graphs, and other types of information. That is all part of Google's attempt to give users what they're looking for as quickly as possible without making them click through to a website. And this is where featured snippets come in. The best thing about featured snippets? Not only are Google's snippets helpful for users, but they can also help your website's SEO. In this post, we'll give you everything you need about featured snippets and how you can use them to improve your ranking.
What's a Google Featured Snippet?
When you type in a question, it is a box at the top. It's Google's way of answering your question without making you click through to a website. When you type in a question, Google looks for the best answer and displays it in the featured snippet box. The answer comes from a website already ranking in the search results. Here's an example of a featured snippet:
Tumblr media
As you can see, the featured snippet gives you a quick answer to your question. And, if you want more information, you can click on the website that the answer came from. Featured snippets can appear in different formats. Google will try to answer your question using a fixed form it thinks is most helpful. For example, if you type in a question with a list as an answer, Google will likely display a numbered list in the featured snippet.
How Can Featured Snippets Help Your SEO?
Featured snippets are helpful for two reasons: They Can Help You Rank High In SERPs Since these are at the top of the search results and above the first organic result, if your website ranks in the featured snippet spot, you can rank twice for the same query. Of course, appearing in the featured snippet doesn't guarantee you'll rank first. But it does give you a good chance of ranking high in the search results. They Can Increase Your Website Traffic Google featured snippets can also help you create traffic for your website. So even if you're not ranking first, appearing in the featured snippet can still help you get clicks. Research has shown that featured snippets get clicked on more than organic results. For example, in one study, featured snippets got 8.6% of clicks, while organic results only got 5.6% of clicks. How To Use Featured Snippets Now that you're aware of featured snippets and know how they can help your SEO, you're undoubtedly wondering how to get your website to appear in them. Here are a few tips: Answer Multiple Questions One of the best ways to appear in featured snippets is to answer multiple questions. Google is more likely to choose a website that answers many different questions rather than a website that only has a solution to one specific question. Keep Things Short When writing your content, keep things short and to the point. Google prefers featured snippets to be around 50-60 words. So, if you can answer a question in that range, you're more likely to appear in the featured snippet box. Use Headers When Writing Using headers makes it easier for Google's algorithm to find the answer to your question. That's because headings help Google understand the structure of your content. Have a "How To" Section Google often displays featured snippets for "how to" questions. So, if you have a website with step-by-step guides, you're more likely to appear in the featured snippet box. Use Google Questions for FAQs Google also pulls featured snippets from websites with FAQ sections. So, if you have an FAQ section on every post on your website, use Google's questions format. To do this, just put each question in its H2 tag and follow it with the answer.
In Closing
Featured snippets can improve your SEO and help get more traffic to your website. To increase your content's chances of appearing as a featured snippet, answer multiple questions, keep things short, and use headers when writing. You should also have a "how to" section on your website and use Google's questions format for FAQs. Read the full article
