any good simonverse fanfiction recommendations?
It’s SO funny that you should ask because today @cutebramgreenfeld finished her perfect Bram vs. series, which is more or less the entire book from Bram’s POV. Like, it’s Bram. It’s Canon Bram, Becky Albertalli-approved (Julie, I s2g I didn’t send this ask to myself, it just worked out this way).
You should all go read this fic and review it, and then read all her other Simon fics if you haven’t.

Now, I’m gonna preface the rest of this by saying that I haven’t really read a whole lot of Simon fic lately. I know, I know. So here are some of the ones from months or longer ago that I love. (also too lazy to use HTML, sorry).
@allthelove2k17 has a bunch that I adore, but if I had to pic one that was my favorite, it’s Oh Baby, where S&B have to babysit Bram’s baby sister. Achingly sweet and also kinda sad? Idk how she did it.

@bramgreenfeld wrote the first Simon fic I ever loved, Crush. S&B visit Bram’s dad’s family over the summer, and fluff.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/5132768
ladyfnick wrote Unexpected Sexual Orientation Crisis Day, where Simon participates in gender bender day, and Bram is the literal best.

aldiara has a great series of smutty-ish B/S fics, Everything I Need To Know I Learned From Fandom. it’s super hot (and definitely rated Explicit, as a warning).
https://archiveofourown.org/series/814086
@vastrooms has a lovely, introspective fic, Inside These Vast Rooms, which is several scenes from B’s perspective. Really wonderfully done.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/11256297
@clairevergreen has a few that I love, but I think my fav is her Bursuso Hogwarts AU, Glad You Came. Yes, i said Bursuso Hogwarts AU. You’re welcome.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/12287421
Speaking of Bursuso, you should also check out ainewrites’s stuff.
https://archiveofourown.org/users/ainewrites/pseuds/ainewrites
Also, @graaaace has a ‘B doesn’t show up at carnival’ AU going on right now called Missed Opportunities. It’s super fun. Check it out!
https://archiveofourown.org/works/14107494/chapters/32504793
There are definitely more wonderful ones that I am forgetting or don’t know about, but I can’t go on all night, so. If people want to rb this post and add their recs, please do!!!

guys lets not boycott Love Simon because im sure theres gonna be plenty of straight people doing that already and if it bombs the movie industry is gonna think lgbt movies for teens arent profitable and wont make any more

Guys, if you want to see more big budget queer movies, go see Love, Simon. See it twice. See it three times. Whether you’re queer or an ally: go. Buy those tickets.
There has been a lot of *discourse* about who can or should see this movie, and over the fact that the author is straight and the lead is not gay, and over all sorts of things. These discussions are valid.
But folks: the movie business does not care about these things. They care about the bottom dollar. They care about the box office. And they are taking a big, big chance on Love, Simon. It’s a big experiment. People who make the decisions about what projects to greenlight and fund are going to be paying A LOT of attention to those numbers..
Let me put it this way. If you want to see the more movies about queer characters (especially ones geared toward younger audiences), go see Love, Simon. If you want the Ari and Dante project – and a million others – to move forward, go see Love, Simon. Buy that tickets if it is within your means to do so. It matters. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good – it never ends well.

boycotting love simon literally only hurts future lgbt movies and the book was really accurate and cute. get the fuck outta here saying the book is “bad” because the author is straight. My queer ass writes cis characters. thanks for coming to my ted talk.
