Nothing says more "Like father, like daughter" to me than the moment when Alicent did to Aegon II what Otto did to Viserys: encourage them to remarry in hopes that they will have sons with their new wives, thus leaving aside the children they had with their firsts.

In Fire and Blood it is stated that Alicent was the one who approved Aegon II's new match, and there's also the fact that Cassandra Baratheon (Aegon II's future bride) was also 14-16 arround the time of her bethrodal.

If you think about it, Alicent was about to condemn Jaehaera to the same hell she made Rhaenyra go through: being stuck with a step-mother who would hate her very existance and see her as nothing more than an obstacle.

To all people saying that Alicent loved Helaena....Are we talking about the same Alicent that never even suggested Aegon II to name Jeahaera (Helaena's only remaining child) as heir and instead encouraged him to marry Cassandra Baratheon to have a new family (kind of like how Otto did with Viserys if you think about it)? That Alicent?

It looked to me like she was willing to let her only daughter's legacy be forgotten in favor of her son's just because the only thing that remained of Helaena was a scared little girl. I'm sorry but if Alicent had trully loved her daughter she would've swallowed her pride and fight tooth and nail to have Jaehaera named heir.

But well, I guesd Cersei did said it better: "I know, we're not supposed to have favorites. But we're only human." 🙃

Can we talk about the parallels between Rhaenyra and Jaehaera???

Both girls are their fathers' sole surviving child at one point, both their mothers died because of their fathers' choices (Viserys by forcing pregnancies on Aemmma, Aegon by starting a war that ultimately made Helaena kill herself) and both their first marriages are clearly against their will.

But we see a key difference when it comes to their fathers and their inhertiance. Rhaenyra is named Viserys' heir despite Daemon being there. Even though there is a male Targaryen (his brother, no less) the love Viserys had for his daughter and grief over her mother made him choose Rhaenyra. Meanwhile we have Aegon preffering to name his enemy's son as heir rather than his only remaining direct relative. And not just that, we also see him eager to marry and have sons that would certainly inherit. Despite Aegon being the reason Jaehaera lost almost everything, he does not feel the need to compensate his daughter in any sort of way and instead treats her like an afterthought.

Another key difference is that while Rhaenyra died knowing that her father loved her, Jeahaera probably died thinking that her father clearly had other priorities, and likely she was not one of them.

The only thing that consoles me is knowing that Alicent won't have a body to mourn either. In fact, if the show follows book cannon I don't think Aemond would even have a funeral at all due to Alicent being imprissioned at the time.

Everyday more convinced that Alicent didn't gave a shit about her children. No sane mother would ever wish for Daemon Targaryen to be their children's sworn enemy. When people say Alicent's greatest enemy all I can think of is this dude:

I mean, he was the one that began to pit Alicent against Rhaenyra by telling her about the moon tea, has her selling feet pics and doing who knows what else for information (something that I believe he does not ask to anyone else), he betrays her multiple times by leaking information to the Blacks during the Dance, and then to top it all off he kills her last remaining son and lets her get imprisioned for life.

So yep, its funny when people say that Rhaenyra and Daemon are Alicent's greatest threats when many members of Team Green have done her waaay more harm.
