Honestly, I am so fucking furious as a dyslexic person that all of the spell-checkers I use seem to be getting steadily worse

Like, "authorised" is constantly being underlined in red because the OED decided the US spelling was no longer a crime in British English (despite the fact that it would actually be seen that way if I used it in a professional setting), and "all of the" is always underlined with blue because the "of" is superfluous

Meanwhile, "dark drown eye" is apparently something that doesn't trip the "maybe this isn't the right word" alarm

Like, my dyslexia didn't escape diagnosis until I was tested for autism because I'm good at spelling, it escaped diagnosis because I've always had spell-check

I'm going to have to start keeping a dictionary at my desk and treat writing books/emails like a game of scrabble - and I take forever to take a turn on scrabble precisely because I'm always checking the spelling of common words

We DO!!

We call them site skins and they are extremely customizable. You do have to be logged in to your AO3 account in order to apply a skin to the website interface itself- but once you do, one of the publicly available site skins is called Reversi and it works like dark mode!

From the Skins and Archive Interface FAQ

Applying a skin from your Preferences page:

1. When you're logged in, select "My Preferences" from the "Hi, [username]!" menu at the top of the page. If you're on your dashboard, you can also choose "Preferences" in the navigation sidebar (found at the top of the page when you're using a mobile device). 2. Scroll to the third section, where it says "Your site skin". You can select the "Public Site Skins" button to get a list of available skins, or select the menu below this button to choose the skin you wish to apply. The menu lists any skins you've created yourself and then the public site skins. 3. Use the "Update" button at the bottom of the page to confirm your choice.

(this is not the only way to apply a site skin, and I very much encourage everyone to go forth to the FAQ and see all the ways you can personally optimize your reading experience!)

Won't having art to share this week so here my favorite page from Jonouchi's comic, you can still read it by buying it on my kofi.

It's been so long since I drew a proper comic, about two years, and being able to work in one and experiment more with mixing traditional and digital art felt extremely satisfactory. I still feel is messy, it was my first time working with textured layers and I know that I could have done a better job, but in the end all I can feel about it is pride and motivation to do more.

I'm very happy of getting back the joy of drawing comics, specially thank to yugioh. Never thought it would happen lol. And I want to keep working on more comics and see what I am capable of!

This scene is even more magnificent if you look at the individual frames. He actually takes the pen out with the checkbook and tosses it into his other hand and spins it around without even looking at what he’s doing. You can see the pen go flying through the air in the gif too but I somehow never even noticed this before until just now. You are such a show off, Kaiba. XD

For a book I am writing, I am wondering if Hemet-Nisut would be the correct title/last name for an Ancient Egyptian handmaiden?

It wouldn't. For a start, the Ancient Egyptians do not have documented last names. They either go by 'X son/daughter of X' or by their job title followed by their name. Hm.t-nsw.t as a title is 'king's wife', or what we'd usually refer to as 'Queen'. You have to be careful when anglicising Egyptian words because Hm.t (with no Hieroglyphs to show you the precise signs that are being read) can also be multiple other words including 'female servant'. Any servant would never be referred to as 'king's servant', but rather simply as 'Hm.t'.
