STUDENT FRIENDLY JEWELRY
If we go back just a few years, we will notice that college going girls were all simple and sober, without much jewelry on them. But when we come back to the present time, we see that the girls are completely in love with jewelry. The reason why girls choose wearing jewelry is that it makes the simplest type of clothes look beautiful and saves us from going through the pain of wearing heavy clothes in order to present ourselves. For instance, we all know how wonderful a piece of silver junk necklace would look with a simple white t shirt. But girls being girls, often go for many jewelry pieces at once and end up making a chaos. The goal should be to have the best style and quality of jewelry rather than having hundreds of jewelry pieces that are out-dated. Having many many jewelry pieces of the same category makes it even more confusing to decide which one to wear, and hence if we have a lesser number of them we are going to be benefited.
WHAT TO GO FOR?
⦁ Pendants : Simple pendants in the jewelry box of a college going girl are a must. Travelling in crowded metros and buses with heavy jewelry is not a simple task, so girls lets admit that simple pendants work completely fine in such cases and also help in upgrading a simple outfit. Secondly, towards the end of your college life when you are appearing for a number of interviews, these pendants rock the formal look as well.
⦁ Earrings : Now, earrings is a vast section. To go for simple outfits, big studs would be a great option. For the western good looking outfits, simple elegant studs are the best option and they compliment the clothes well. The left out ethnic wear is obviously going to go well with our all time favorite jhumkas! Big and heavy jhumkas are completely the buzz these days, and make a simple ethnic dress look outstanding.
⦁ Rings : We all might consider rings as a negligible jewelry piece, but trust me, they really talk a lot. Think of a heavy junk ring to go with any of your clothes, and yes it teams up perfectly. The current buzz is of knuckle rings and they really deserve all the attention because in spite of being the simplest, they put up an elegant side to a person.
WHAT NOT TO GO FOR?
Going to college everyday is not an easy task. One has to travel all the way in crowdy places, walk miles sometimes, suffer the hot weather and what not. In such difficult circumstances, wearing jewelry and taking care of it is another task on our shoulders. Keeping in mind all this, one must specifically make sure that they don't opt for such ornaments which are extraordinarily heavy and bulky. Go for the pieces that you think you will be able to manage without any difficulty. It would completely be a waste if someone chooses a lot of shimmery jewelry for their college as it does not stand out well during the day. Another way to filter out your jewelry selection is the budget. Never spend huge amounts on jewelry as they might go out of fashion any time.
Have a happy time selecting jewelry for your college girls, and check out the student friendly jewelry pieces offered by Aionios Creations.

SILVER JEWELRY CULTURE : THEN AND NOW
Silver is an age old metal, being used since a long long time. In the recent decades it has been very popular in jewelry and utensils only. Today's women appreciate the beauty of the metal in ornaments alone. However, the beauty of the metal has a long history, and an interesting evolutions.
In the earlier days the metal was very common in every household. It was used in making ornaments for both men and women, utensils for households and was also the basis for various monetary transactions. The Victorian period saw royalty in silver spoons, forks and knives. Similarly in India, the rulers saw the jewelry as a measure of power and wealth.
As the metal was available quite easily and was also affordable, the rural and tribal women were seen wearing heavy silver jewelry. However, it was not just as a measure of enhancing their beauty, but also represented their way of investing into it and for their financial security. Apart from investment, the Egyptian culture also considered silver to be religious and was also rare in those days. In the Islamic community, men were often seen wearing silver ring on their little finger. It was believed that the metal keeps the human body cool and reduces mental stress- which is one reason why silver is used as base in making rings with gems. Another interesting history of silver is its inspiration from the temples. Back in the days of jewelers, the queens would adorn jewelry inspired from temples, popularly known today as well as temple jewelry.

We have seen how silver was scene in the earlier days to be represented as scientific, traditional and astrological ways. Interestingly, the facts are still the same in the present day, only the way of wearing and using the metal has been enhanced a little. Today, we often notice young women beautifully adorning silver in various forms. There is no more the belief that heavy jewelry is meant only for women who are married, but those who are not carry it off just perfectly!
The type of silver jewelry women love today takes its inspiration from the past itself. All the heavy silver jewelry worn today has its roots in the past from the tribal culture. From neck pieces to nose pins and earrings! The old times have inspired the new, and it is well said that old is gold! The catch here is that, the jewelry inspired from the rural and tribal days fits perfectly today as well. Be it ethnic or western, every dress is suited to go with the junk jewelry. Women wearing long, heavy neck pieces are very commonly seen. Only a few years ago women preferred their noses to carry tiny nose pins but today the big and heavy ones are high in demand. Similarly the heavy jhumkas have been popular for many years now. An old ornament which is very latest in fashion today is the baaju bandh (high wrist bands) - they go literally with dresses and lehengas both!
