You stared at Oda through the dozens of strangers filling the bar, dancing their way in and out of your peripheral vision but no matter what they did, you couldn’t take your eyes off the mafioso. No matter the man flirting with you from behind or the lady spilling her drink on your shoes, you only gazed at him from afar, watching as the whore from earlier leaned against the counter beside him. Even at the slightest upturn of her lips, you could feel your eye twitch, the thought of her neck clasped tightly in between your hands never leaving the back of your mind, haunting you like a ghost.

But the thought was also amusing.

You could practically hear the sound of her choking, gagging and scratching at your hands as you held onto her throat, draining the life from her body. You couldn’t even call her a lady anymore. Barely a woman, either. Simply just a tool, a wretched creature, wanting to touch men and to be touched by them.

You couldn’t let her ruin him.

But, he wouldn’t allow you to hurt her.

Not if he knew.

You downed the last bit of tequila, pushing the chair behind you as you got up, filing through the crowd. You knew you couldn’t hover over him, he’d know you were following him. So you laid low, blending in with the moving bodies of those around you, swaying along to the music. You could feel the woman behind you grinding against your back, but you didn’t seem to mind, pressing yourself up against her as you moved from side to side.

Despite the feeling of the female pressing against you, you kept your focus on Oda and that creature, stealing glances of the scene unfolding before you. She smiled toward him, leaning forward to expose her cleavage as she took a sip of her drink, batting her eyelashes like a butterfly flapping its wings.

Oda didn’t seem interested, yet he indulged in the woman’s sluttish behavior, smiling ever so slightly before placing a hand on her thigh, making its way up to her hips. You could feel yourself grow sick at the sight, an annoyed groan escaping your lips as you stared at the woman. As if she could feel your eyes on her, for a moment she glanced over toward you, and the two of you locked eyes. Oda seemed to notice the sudden distraction, and moved his head to look over his shoulder to where she was looking at.

Shit.

You turned to look beside you at the woman, cupping her cheek and smashing your lips onto hers before he could get a good look at you, feeling her moan into the kiss as you slipped your tongue into her mouth, exploring the walls of her wet cavern. She gave in quickly, the taste of beer bitter on her lips as you pulled away, a string of saliva still connecting the two of you together. Her eyes seemed to sparkle with interest as you glanced over at the duo, only to realize they were no longer there.

“Damn it.” You muttered under your breath, looking aimlessly around the bar.

They were nowhere to be seen.

You pushed past the crowd and made your way to the door, looking around one last time for any sign of the duo, and you saw the familiar figure of Dazai walking down the street. You ran up to him, grabbing hold of his shoulders excitedly with a kiss pressed to his cheek. “Osamu!”

He gasped and his eyes widened in surprise for only a second before his usual blank expression found its way back on his face, turning around and greeting you with a small smile. “Hey love,” He planted his lips on yours and you could feel him smile into the kiss. “Drinking now, are we?”

“Came from the bar down the street.” You replied simply.

He pouted. “And you didn’t invite me? What are boyfriends even for?”

You smiled, patting his head like a child. “Girls night.”

An innocent white lie.

He stared at you for a second before slipping his arm around your waist, guiding you back to your shared apartment. “Let’s go home, m’kay?”

You nodded. “Yeah, I’m tired.”

Despite his firm hold on your waist and you clinging to his arm lovingly, you were never truly his. You loved him so much, but he was nothing compared to Oda.

And it almost killed you every time you thought about it.

Almost.
