“What gave it away?” Eve chuckled, “The miserable expression or the lack of date?” Natalia, from French; ah yes. Eve was an underclassman, therefore she hadn’t had many social interactions with many people her senior. “Drastic? I don’t know about drastic, as soon as my presence has been noted I’m peeling.” She hadn’t planned on staying very long in the first place, eager to be in the comfort of her own bed. Eve noticed the girls punch, no doubting it was tainted, she wondered how soon until everyone was sloshed, thankfully Eve had her share before that.
“Are you here for extra credit as well or did you bring an actual date?” She peered over Natalia’s shoulder; no man seemed to be waiting for her. Eve’s gazed wandered, taking note of nearly every fellow classmate’s attendance, seemingly on dates with each other.

-
“Definitely the miserable expression.” Natalia smiled knowingly, “Dates come and go as they please, so I honestly would have assumed that yours was out on a bathroom break or out for a smoke.” Natalia shrugs. Her mind always likes to fill in the blanks with assumptions and stories, a dangerous trait, she's aware. Yet it’s something she simply does instinctually. The scenarios ever changing as more facts and details become known to her. So the stories her mind were making up about her own date’s disappearance was...alarming. She pushed those thoughts aside.
“Really? You’re not tempted into a dancing to a favorite song or swaying to a slow song with a really good looking guy?” Natalia was baffled. Sure, school dances were what you make of them but Natalia was really good at making them fun and worth the effort of going to them. It was so weird to her that so many classmates just didn’t feel the same excitement or joy towards them.
At Eve’s question about a date Natalia looked around the room again, trying to see if Eros’s tall and lanky frame was visible. Her earlier smile dimmed, as expected he was nowhere in sight. Natalia takes another sip of her spiked punch before returning her attention to her classmate. “I came with someone, yes.” Natalia sighs, a slight sadness settling into the pit of her stomach. She tries to push those feelings away however, reminding herself that this wasn’t a big deal. In his defense they are just friends. It’s not like he was her boyfriend and therefore required to be at her sides at all times, but Natalia definitely wanted to dance with him more than the one time. Later, we can dance together again later, he wouldn’t leave without at least giving me that. Natalia thought to herself as she downed the rest of her punch. Her thoughts were then interrupted by a familiar hum and clap chord that hit the speakers as a new song started playing and Natalia squealed with pure excitement. “Oh I love this song!” as Little Bitty Pretty One reached the chorus Natalia extended her hand in an open invitation to Eve. “Let’s go dance! Come on, this song is way too great to sit it out!” Not sure if that would be enough of an incentive Natalia quickly thought up another reason for her classmate to get up. “Also, maybe instead of staying in one place in the hopes of being seen for the extra credit, it would be more productive to be up and about and searching for the guy who promised up extra credit for being here?” While Natalia waited for her classmate’s response, she danced in place, the upbeat song too irresistible to stay still.

>sadie hawkins dance// eve&open
The idea of a Sadie Hawkins dance didn’t interest Eve much, it was the people who would be attending. She was looking forward to seeing familiar faces from her Advanced French course, everyone was fiending for any form of extra credit so their attendance was expected. Eve was also looking forward to seeing her Professor there as well, she knew something was bound to happen. The dance was held in Baker Hall, which was known to have ridiculously slick wooden floors, which was also bound to be interesting, Eve had fallen victim to it a few times herself. Although hopeful, she was also dreading this stupid dance. Eve wasn’t a big dancer herself, and she didn’t have many friends; acquaintances plenty, but few people she would expect to acknowledge her at a social event nonetheless. She figured she would stay, have a chat with the few she knew and head back to finish up on her reading.
Eve walked into the dimly lit meal hall, which had been cleared into a massive dance floor, she noticed the punch bowl, an unhuman colour red liquid sloshing in the crystal serving bowl. She winced at the thought of the drunkards trying to spike it, ultimately resulting in disaster. The music was playing just loud enough to be able to hear it; Eve checked her watch, 7:52pm, she was early, as usual. A few people lingered around the sides of the wall, pairs of dates. Eve didn’t bother asking any boy to the dance, she knew the answer would’ve been no regardless. Eve clicked her tongue and walked over to the punch bowl and grabbed one of the paper cups provided and filled her glass, bringing it to her lips and taking a sip. The juice was untainted, and devilishly sugary. Eve spun on her heel to find a seat. A few tables had been set up in the back, probably for dates wanting ‘intimate time’ or whatever they expected. She cut across the floor, and sat down alone. Placing her cup on the table, she glanced over the scene once more, eager to make her departure and just get it over with.
-
Natalia had lost sight of Eros...again. ‘Of course he was a wanderer’ Natalia thought to herself fondly as she walked her way to the punch table. She’d take a break for a few moments before she’d go looking for her date. The dance has been going on for a while now and she hoped all the drinks would have been spiked by now. It would be a travesty to be stone cold sober on a night like this. Her tia would have a fit if she knew that Natalia was no longer a stranger to alcohol and even drugs but then again, Natalia would have never felt the need to try them if not for her aunt’s overbearing insistence of banning it in the name of the lord. Both items were the first things she tried when her rebellious “fuck the lord” phase came about as soon as she reached the freedom of not being under the watchful eye of her guardian twenty four seven.
As the sweet smell of spiked punch reached her nose, Natalia beamed as she served herself a cup, downing it before serving herself a second. Her eyes wandered until they fell on a familiar face from her advanced french class. Eve. Natalia tilted her head, trying to come up with the last instance they ever interacted...which had only been for some mundane reason in class. Eager to fix that Natalia makes her way towards her classmate. Giggling at the utter look of boredom on the girls face, “You look like you are ready to do something drastic just to get away. Let me guess... extra credit is the reason you’re here?”

Natalia & Eros @eros-illiades
It was a spur of the moment decision, a happenstance of Natalia turning her pretty little head just so and witnessing Eros sitting back into his seat. Her mind turning and contemplating as to who would be the lucky guy that would be at her side at Sadie Hawkins Date. The minute her warm brown eyes locked on his mysterious gaze, her mind had been made up and her self assured smile was beaming on her face. Sure her friendship with Eros is something that is still quite new, and she was aware that her shy friend -and really he was the shyest of them all- might not really be comfortable at such a social gathering but this was a great way to bond in her opinion. After all dances were meant for fun, and unlike some other girls who try to use these dances as a statement of their relationship statuses, Natalia had no such hangups. This wasn’t a declaration of her seeking to make Eros her man, none of her dates to social events ever were. This was her way of solidifying a friendship.
Asking him had been easy, getting him to realize that she wasn’t joking, or ready to ditch him for another date was a whole other thing completely. Eros never said a full out no, he just kept mentioning reasons as to why he wouldn’t be a good date. Natalia took this to mean that he actually did want to go but for whatever reason was hesitant to admit to it.  So she just stopped listening to his many reasons as to why anyone else would be a better date and would reply with questions as to what color scheme he was thinking of wearing and if he needed a ride. Eros was so silly in thinking she would just abandon him, she wasn’t embarrassed to be seen with him either.
“I wasn’t sure which purple you were thinking of but I think I picked the perfect dress.” Natalia was fiddling with tie around Eros neck, there was nothing wrong about it but she did loosen it up a bit, baker hall would be crowded with people by now, making the air a lot warmer inside. “It’s best not to feel like the tie is restricting your airways.” Natalia quips as she stops fussing with his tie and instead takes a few steps back to observe him. Eros is quite enchanting, and even now he looked like he was plucked out of the ancient myths and placed into modern times. Natalia smiles “We are definitely going to be the best looking couple in there!”  She takes a quick twirl in her dress, it’s a glittering form fitting dress, the color shifting from silver to earthy purples. It wasn’t made for twirling but that didn’t stop her from showing it off. The gown bared her arms but she had that covered with a big fluffy purple pashmina that looked absolutely fabulous. “How do I look?”

meredith-la-magicienne:
It seemed like a good idea.  Meredith likes poetry.  Meredith likes Topped Off.  In theory, then, Meredith should like Poetry Night at Topped Off.
In practice, she does not.
She’s not miserable at all; she just isn’t exactly enjoying herself.  The mostly freshmen who step up to read their work are courageous, she thinks, but not good poets.  Not yet.  With time, perhaps some of them will be, but at the moment, it is all too easy to tell exactly what was just covered in Lit 101, and their desire for depth and resonance comes across so much more clearly than any actual emotion.  Occasionally, someone better takes the stage with something more interesting, but not often enough to convince Meredith she wouldn’t be better off at home with a book and some form of alcohol.
The most recent brave soul steps off the stage in the corner and Meredith smiles and applauds and waits to make sure they aren’t looking in her direction before she turns to her companion and pouts, “This would be better with wine.”
Tumblr media
-
“Querida, we only have to wait for my friend to perform his poetry and then I promise to make this up to you with some wine.” Natalia pleads as she looks at her roommate. She was so happy that Meredith had decided to join her, instead of staying behind to be on her own. Natalia had worked so hard to ensure that her relationship with her roommate would be pleasant at least and now she’s working on them actually becoming best friends. A detail she’s keeping to herself since she doesn’t want to freak said roommate out. Natalia had a good feeling about it because even though they seemed like total opposites, they had more in common than not. Plus Meredith had the patience to not only deal with her shenanigans, but also kind enough to indulge in her sometimes questionable ideas. Case in point, attending a last minute poetry night event at Topped Off when Natalia wasn’t even performing and was only going to cheer on a guy she thought was cute.
“Also this isn’t too bad, sure a lot of words are coming directly from a thesaurus but isn’t it so incredibly brave to stand in front of your peers and share such intimate thoughts?” Natalia leaned over to bump her shoulder against Meredith’s. “Still, did I ever tell you that you are the best roommate ever? Thank you for joining me.”

Dom stared at her for a moment, caught somewhere between exhausted and pensive. With the exception of maybe two, all of his students this semester were incredibly dedicated to their studies. He wondered what they would think if they knew he spent the vast majority of his time not at all considering academics. The job market was much different for them, though, he supposed. “Ears like a bat.” He finally responded with a grin, trying to shake judgement. “But you are interrupting a very important meeting I’m having.” His tone suddenly became more serious, pointing to the plant in front of him before smiling again, an attempt at humor.
“We can talk extra credit but I’m afraid I’m a bit more unconventional when it comes to that sort of thing.” Actually, he hadn’t thought much what he might assign for extra credit, he didn’t anticipate his students being so desperate for it despite their already perfect grades. “Morality-wise, what’s the worst thing you’re willing to do?”
-
His furrowed brows and the twist of his lips, painted his face into an expression of pure bewilderment and if Natalia wasn’t so taken with her professor she might have been concerned as to why that was his reaction to her very logical question. Instead she was distracted by the look of his long bangs and how soft and luscious his hair looked. She found herself curling her hands into a fist to avoid the temptation of reaching up and pushing said bangs out of his face. A move that may have been welcomed from a loved one but certainly never a student. A move she wouldn’t have resisted if he were one of her flings or soon-to-be fling. She should honestly keep her distance to ensure she wouldn’t embarrass herself but instead of taking a step back, Natalia took a step forward.
However the minute he mentioned she interrupted a very important meeting, Natalia stopped moving forward, her heart spiking with worry as her grip on her notebooks tightened. She stopped her advancement and her eyes locked onto his, "I didn’t mean -” her apology cut off at the sudden appearance of his smile, so at odds with his statement. Yet it all made sense when her eyes finally looked to where he had pointed, a dangerous looking plant grabbing her attention. He was joking, oh thank god.  Her sigh of relief was a little loud and she lifted her free hand to place over her racing heart. “You scared me.” Natalia’s small smile joined his teasing look, “Quite an important meeting indeed, my apologies,” Natalia tilted her head as she looked closer at the species. “is this the kind that you feed it spiders?” Natalia was a hundred percent okay with any plant that ate bugs for a living, no matter how creepy they looked.
Natalia’s stomach did somersaults as she imagined herself in a...compromising position with Dr. König, her cheeks flushing into a rosy pink before she shook her head a little. Shaking some logic back into her system. ‘Pull yourself together Natalia, he doesn’t mean that.’  “I guess it’s a good thing that I’m okay with unconventional.” Natalia beamed. “I guess... anything that doesn’t get me kicked out of school? Then again i’m extremely good at bending the rules, perhaps even breaking a few and not getting caught.” Perhaps she shouldn’t be telling him all this but Natalia didn’t get the impression that he would use this against her. “Honestly I view morality as society’s method of control and I’m currently in a rebellious phase.”

On a good day Tillie could have the patience for this. She could smile and nod, and politely decline the invitation. But oh, God was today not one of those days. It wasn’t Natalia’s fault for missing the small window of tolerance, but Tillie blamed her for it anyway. She should have known that “no” meant “no” and not “stay”. If she didn’t, Tillie would just have to show her and although it wouldn’t be kind, it would surely be effective. A hushed scoff escapes from her lips. “I know who you are, Natalia.” She snaps, and this time she does roll her eyes. Then a forced smile creeps on her face, a hostile one, tinged with irritation. “I, like, pay attention when everyone’s introducing themselves in class.” She says, mocking the girl’s bubbly tone.
She closes her book with one hand and sighs. “Look, you’re not the first person to have the misconception that i’m nice. I know I seem approachable, but that’s just my face.” She leans forward in her seat, Tillie’s eyes locked intensely on Natalia’s. “ But if we’re going to survive a class together you need to understand two things. The first being to never interrupt me while i’m reading. The second is that there is no mandate on being pals with a person you have one class with.” Tillie knew it was harsh, but she couldn’t say that she cared all that much. Natalia seemed like a tough learner. “Have fun on your adventure.”
Tumblr media
-
If the aura around them had been frigid before, it was downright artic now. The easy smile on Natalia’s face long gone, her small frown quick to replace it. Even knowing she can come off a little strong to strangers, this reaction felt overblown and quite unnecessarily mean. Natalia’s back straightened as her hands curled into fists, her willingness to be nice gone as Tillie treated her as nothing more than a dumb airhead. It wasn’t as if Natalia didn’t know who she was, it was just that knowing someone’s name isn’t the same as knowing them as a person. Though it was all a moot point now, Natalia has just received a crash course on who Charlotte “Tillie” Broussard is. Which is a total bitch. Natalia is many things but a stupid little girl is not one of them and she resented the fact that many, like the puta in front of her, were so quick and willing to view her as such, just because she had the good fortune of being pretty and happy.
“You know what? You’re right, my bad...” Natalia started as she quickly stood up, but instead of walking away, she leaned forward herself, looking down at the girl who rejected her offer of friendship. “...I should have realized that the look on your face was actually just a warning for others to know that you have a big stick up your ass. Rest assured I won’t make the same mistake again.” Natalia flipped her hair back as her eyes kept the eye contact, not shying away one bit from the animosity. “You should probably have someone help you take said stick out but you've probably grown to enjoy the feeling. And honestly? I doubt anyone would want to get near you enough to help.”

Natalia shone far brighter than anyone else that Dae had ever met. The energy she constantly gave off was natural and so very warm. It was for that reason he was friends with her. Though you would be hard pressed to find anyone in this town that Dae wasn’t friends with. He didn’t have a malicious bone in his body and only wanted the best for others. He figured that created some appeal in getting to know him. Natalia was no exception. She of course was a lot more vibrant than he was and that made friendship easy between the pair of them.
When greeted as warmly as she had, it was hard not to smile and feel at ease with her. The warmth radiated off of her and surprisingly enough, Dae found it refreshing to be on the receiving end of it, even if the Louisiana summer was thick in the air. “Great minds,” he stated simply. He found comfort in knowing that they never had to speak about anything terribly serious. Things like the arts were enough to get a good rise out of the both of them. “To be completely honest, my reasonings are the same as yours,” he admitted with a smug smile playing across his features. “I just feel like it’s going to be filled with the right set of emotions I’m looking for.” He couldn’t describe it, there was just a gut feeling in his chest that this was going to be a good record to have.
“Of course, we’ll have to have a listening party to find out for ourselves now won’t we?” He offered the girl a genuine smile as she continued to refer to him with a pet name she had given him herself. A soft blush painted itself on his cheeks when she started to speak of photos. “A muse? I’d hardly say my face has any warrant on being your muse,” he trailed off for a moment when he saw the expression that had settled onto the girls face. After a brief moment of silence he gave in, “but if you insist I suppose my schedule is clear. Now is as good a time as any, right?”
-
Natalia knew that anytime spent with Dae was guaranteed to be a good time. From the instant they met, they bonded. Two individuals who stick out in a country that was not initially theirs but they now call home. Together in a culture that is quick to exclude them at any chance, but she doesn’t mind, because she knows she can count on Dae to have her back, just as she would do whatever it takes to have his. All of this loyalty and there was still so much they have yet to learn of each other, she couldn’t even begin to say she knows any of his deepest secrets, nor he hers. However it was the fact that being in his presence felt right, his friendship genuine and sincere and that was enough to inspire her loyalty. She’d give it to him until a reason she shouldn’t appeared, which she highly doubted would ever occur.
“Not just great minds precioso, the best of minds.” Natalia winks at him as she fiddles with the records in front of her. “I think our method of choosing records is spectacular really. Why pick something that looks dull and boring?” She scoffs at such unimaginative souls who don’t go the extra mile to make their work look interesting. Her irritation is swiftly pushed aside at the mention of a listening party. Natalia perks up and gives a little shimmy of excitement. “Oh! Que genial! It’s been a while since we’ve listened to anything together. Am I sneaking into your dorm or are you sneaking into mine?” Natalia wiggles her brows teasingly, confident that Dae would know she just likes to offer scandalous suggestions for fun.
“Of course your face is perfect! Now is not a time to be humble. You are a living work of art Dae! Don’t let anyone tell you differently!” Natalia grinned at his easy acceptance of her request after a moment of silence. “Okay! Yes now is perfect! Go buy that record and then we can go out into the sun before it decides to disappear on us!” Natalia shoo’s him off, pushing him towards the registrar, all the while squealing with excitement at the fun they are about to have.

acaciabuchanan:
It was the first week of classes and Acacia already found herself up at 6AM to get herself to the library to get a good spot away from other students studying. Gone was the ease of the first week, as a senior, all of her professors already went straight into assigning readings, if they hadn’t already before classes started. Her cup of coffee had long gone cold and Acacia had only been noted of the change in the time as the sun peaked into one of the higher windows, slowly reaching its zenith in the sky.
She was already getting to the point where her stomach was getting louder than the thoughts in her head. After realizing she was reading the same line in Candide for the fifth time, Acacia put down the book just as the sunlight warming her face was blocked momentarily by another person taking the open seat next to her.
“Quite honestly, yes,” Acacia said with a small sigh. She already managed to tackle a good portion of her work and narrowed down the books she needed to check out. The day was still young and she had done enough for now. She turned to her classmate, Natalia, a girl she recognized from the year prior that continued on with her. “Where are you thinking of going and would it happen to at least include something for lunch?”
Tumblr media
-
Now that food was brought up, Natalia could feel the beginning pangs of hunger reach her stomach. Her hands absentmindedly reached for her stomach. What was the last thing she ate? No matter, they could totally deviate from her initial plan and make a quick stop for food. Natalia beamed at the easy acceptance of her classmate. Acacia is someone she’s interacted with a few times but never really on their own. And now that she thinks about it... it’s always been about schoolwork. This was a perfect time to change that.
“A quick stop at the diner sounds fantastic to me right now, a burger and milkshake would be heavenly.” Natalia pauses and tilts her head as a new thought enters her mind, “Unless you have something different in mind? I don’t mind eating something else.”  Natalia gets a little closer to the blonde for this next bit, not wanting anyone else to overhear and try to invite themselves to her plans.
“As for what I initially had in mind, I wanted to explore the abandoned church on the outskirts of town...” Natalia’s sunny tone turned a tad more ominous but soft, and were she to pitch her voice any lower she’d be whispering. “I’ve heard some rumors and I wanted to check it out.” Her voice suddenly returns to its normal pitch, “Preferably I’d like to go with someone who won’t be stupid about the whole thing and I know we aren’t the best of friends but I trust you? I know that might sound weird but I know that you remarkably bright...so I trust you to be logical...at least more logical than me. My emotions get the best of me sometimes.” Natalia shrugs, self awareness is key and this is exactly why she can’t go to the chapel alone. Natalia doesn’t want to think about how she’d react if she were on her own. Best not to contemplate it.

charbroussard:
All morning Tillie had a nagging feeling like she wasn’t doing enough. Sure she was ahead in all of her classes and there wasn’t much left to do, but the feeling wouldn’t subside. It manifested as a gnawing pain in the base of her belly, deep and unwavering. She decides to go to the library, and read for fun. It wasn’t something she did often anymore, but she thinks that perhaps, if anything, it will be a nice distraction for her ever-racing mind. She takes a seat at the table by the window and removes her copy of Lord of the Rings from her leather satchel. Her plan is successful at first, but for the last hour there had been so many interruptions: A boy asking for a pen, a group of girls asking if they could have her spot, another boy asking her for her homework. She had almost given up and gone back to her dorm, but then there is quiet. And she finally relaxes. Until someone else waltzes over to her, again uninvited. “Fuck’s sake.” She groans to herself, thinking that if she endured any more nonsense today, she may burst. She didn’t need to see Natalia to recognize her voice - perky and a bit too loud for Tillie’s liking. She’d grown a distaste for it in their French class, but always managed to ignore her just enough to get through the hour. Now though, with this unanticipated breach of her personal space, ignoring the girl was not a luxury Tillie could afford. She looks up at Natalia, who was smiling so brightly it made Tillie want to roll her eyes. But she doesn’t - at least, not yet. Just stares at her, deadpan, hoping she would take the hint. She doesn’t. “I already am on an adventure.” She says finally, pointing to her book twice with the hand that held her highlighter. “Tolkien has painted a wonderful image for me, thank you very much.”
Tumblr media
-
Natalia’s initial burst of excitement at the prospect of bonding with her fellow classmate dies a quick death as an aura of indifference takes its place. The blank stare and lack of a welcoming smile taking away the wind beneath her sails. Natalia can concede that perhaps she didn’t have the best timing. What with inviting herself over to someone who didn’t ask for her attentions but Natalia had seen the girl in front of her before and now seemed like the perfect time to introduce herself. She was never the sort to be restrained when it came to making new friends. Waiting for others to make the first move always felt like a waste of time to the bubbly latina.
“Oh.” Natalia’s smile falters a little, not wanting to dismiss the validity of a literary adventure but also baffled at the total non interest of what she was proposing. Did her classmate not have any questions as to what the adventure could be? Of where they would be going and what was the purpose? Not that Natalia had that all figured out quite yet but still... she was used to people going along with her spontaneity. She was used to people participating and collaborating with her on her ideas, it was a little disorienting to encounter someone who refused to. “I didn’t mean to bother you, I just wanted to introduce myself and spend some time together really. I just thought...” Natalia tucks a stray bit of hair behind her ear before continuing to talk with her hands. “..since we are going to be in the same class it would be nice to be friends ya know? I’m Natalia de Leòn, a pleasure to meet you.”

Ten of Pentacles
Upright - Wealth, financial security, family, long-term success, contribution
Reversed - The dark side of wealth, financial failure or loss
She walks into the room dripping in gold, the aura of hers unmistakably bright and warm. A golden ray of sunshine personified into a young woman who adores to shine. Natalia de León is the sun but every year there is a brief moment of time where she simply disappears. The closer the date to the anniversary of her parent’s death, the more noticeable of how something is wrong with the girl who is always so ready to smile. Natalia’s warmth vanishes and her light flickers as her grief overwhelms her. On the actual day that commemorates the death of her mother and father, she self isolates. It’s a day where she grieves the fact that she can’t remember the way her parents smell, or how when she thinks of their voices nothing specific comes to mind. Every year she loses a little more of them and each year her grief threatens to consume her more.
She doesn’t allow anyone to see her grieve, she’d rather people remember her only as the girl who smiles. The girl who resembles the sun and never as the broken child who deeply misses her parents.

eros-illiades:
There wasn’t much that could pull Eros out of his concentration. Especially not if he dedicated it to school work. But there was something- No, someone in the corner of his eye that kept wanting to draw his attention over. A certain familiar warmth that Eros had a great craving for, but would never admit so. That was why he had to restrain himself with all the will he had no to look at the thing he already seemed to want. He knew that once he did, he would-
Damnit. His eyes darted her way. Her. It was the girl he recognized from his French class. She was warm indeed, and she was bright. Hence he did not want to keep his eyes on her for too long… Yet once he started, it was always hard to stop. He had to try, though, but she was so bright that when he looked back at his notes he could barely see properly. This always happened, and he hated it, but he never blamed her. She could never be blamed. Only prayed to, in times of blaming something else, or yourself. And he did blame himself.
After a few minutes, he had given up on being able to continue his studying and instead pulled out his dark, leather-bound journal. It was where he kept his thoughts, and it wouldn’t be the first time he had written about her. Of course, the journal was so chaotic that you could never really make out what anything he wrote down was about in the first place, so he was never too bothered with people looking over his shoulder. Though for some reason, he closed it as the girl came his way. The warmth just got worse and worse, and soon he was burning, so he closed the journal. Perhaps he was afraid she could burn right through him and understand.
He kept his head down as she sat at his table, only brushing his hair away to be able to see her when he turned his head. He never imagined this would happen, but there she was. She spoke to him, and obviously needed an answer, but Eros needed a moment to know how to handle her presence so close. Soon enough he closed his slightly parted lips and took a deep breath through his nose, not once taking his eyes off of her. “What others see as adventures is usually not how I want my story to go.” He eventually said. His voice was low, a little coarse, and it usually sounded like he was citing rather than just speaking. This time though, he was actually citing. From his own journal.
-
There was a little moment of silence that filled the space between them.  A moment where her fellow classmate just stared at her, it could have been uncomfortable but Natalia never shies away from attention. No she soaks it up and delights in it. Any other person could have taken the silence as a rejection of her question, the intense nonverbal stare as an invitation to leave but Natalia didn’t fault him for his silence. Instead she calmly waits for him to say something. Her fingers softly tapping the table when they weren’t pushing her hair behind her ears. To be fair she’s a stranger, a nobody in his world who had the audacity to invade his space as this was certainly her first time ever speaking to him. Eros. She never caught his last name but his first was impossible to forget.
She remembers how she first heard it being said aloud, the thick brows above her eyes rising in surprise at the fact that any person in Louisiana would carry such a name. She also remembered looking at him intently and realizing he fit his name perfectly. He looked like an Eros. An androgynous beauty of fine features and delicate lines that could have been sculpted by the gods themselves. She noticed him yes, but she never found a reason to speak to him. Until now.
Her patience paid off, his low raspy voice carrying a verse that was almost lyrical in nature, something pleasing to the ears though no less bewildering behind it’s meaning. Instead of scoffing and standing to leave, Natalia felt compelled to get closer, so she leaned in, eating up a little bit more of the space between them. “An adventure with me is not comparable to what others see or think of when they hear the word, precioso.” Natalia grins, the thought of her doing anything like the masses a ridiculous thought but it was okay. He would learn. Natalia was always one to trust her instincts and right now they were screaming to keep him close. She was fine with that, always happy to make more friends.
“However this does make me curious...how do you want your story to go?” She props her head on her chin and waits for his response, excited to find out what other prose would leave his luscious lips.

drkoenig:
Dom was humming. For the first Monday that semester, he was in a good mood.Something about the thick humidity that he suffered day to day was intolerable but the Louisiana summer had relented and allowed a cool mist to hover over the town. Today, he was enjoying being alone in his office, the sun notably absent from its large windows.
At present moment, he was neglecting a stack of papers he had yet to grade for a small Venus flytrap he was growing. Unlike the many he had at home, this one seemed to have an attitude. On days that he took special care in pruning and watering it, it seemed to glow, its pinks and greens becoming lighter. On all others, it would wilt, almost as if it were playing dead. Today was a good day for the plant, it seemed to have decided as Dom poured boiled water on it, anything with minerals was practically a death sentence.
The plant’s attitude was not the only thing unusual about it. Dom had something of a green thumb which made everything he grew animated - his flowers opened and closed depending on who was in the room, his tomatoes would practically roll off the vine if he spoke ill of the progress they were making. The flytrap was no different, occasionally nipping at Dom’s fingers as they brushed over its leaves.
As he stared absently at the plant, he became aware of a presence outside of his door. He listened to the person shift their weight from one leg to another before calling out to them.
“I know you’re there. This isn’t the easiest building to move around in silently.” He grinned, waiting for an answer.

Although the professor had already called her out, she still felt compelled to knock on his door as she stood near the frame of the entrance. She hadn’t mean to delay in her approach but she had been woefully unprepared for how attractive the new french professor was. This wasn’t the first time she’s come across him of course, he isn’t a new face, and she’s been in his class for weeks now but everytime she had to interact with him her stomach twisted and her breath would hitch. He had this magnetism about him that was beyond alluring. She thought she’d be over his looks by now but it still catches her off guard and now that lead her to be embarrassingly caught lingering around his door.
Still she was here with a purpose, she reminded herself. Not just to lust over the man who will have a hand in her moving ahead and graduating. So focus. “I wasn’t trying to be sneaky but that’s good to know for future reference,” Natalia jokes. “I hope i’m not interrupting anything important but I wanted to discuss about possible extra credit opportunities or even side projects that would help me graduate with honors?” It wasn’t enough for Natalia to just get a passing grade, she need to ensure she could get as close to perfection as possible. She hoped this new professor would be more willing to help out than the last one.

Natalia is never one to skimp out on her studies, from diligently studying her books to practicing the various languages she’s studying, she focuses and excels at whatever she puts her mind to. However lately her attention has been straying, what was once dedicated to her major or minor was now being consumed by the seduction of ... brujeria.  She had heard the recent rumors of things happening at St. Mary’s Chapel. There’s always rumors of course but this time something within her wouldn’t let the whisperings be dismissed. Before taking her current french class, Natalia would have been quick to dismiss it as ramblings of horny students eager to scare whoever was listening. It wasn’t a secret that the old church was a prime makeout spot. A delicious blasphemy that Natalia has indulged in herself, a form of rebellion from the strict catholic upbringing she knew. It was easier to ignore things then. Now though, now she’s starting to think it wasn’t all bullshit.
Giving up on her unfinished homework, Natalia ignored it and focused on the individual she recognized from her advance french class. Sauntering over to their table and bursting whatever concentration they had, Natalia shamelessly seated herself without invitation.  “Hey...want to go on a little adventure?”
