every single time israel fires on people picking up food or humanitarian aid it truly cuts me to the core. obviously it's equally horrible to fire on civilians escaping the invasion or to bomb hospitals or refugee camps or people just living in their own homes. but there's something so brutal about hitting people right when they have gathered for life-saving aid. by firing on them there the IOF have set up an impossible dilemma where starving people have to choose between death by bullet or death by hunger. they have left no room for palestinians to choose life. i do not know how my government or any other government can just sit by and watch while innocent people continue to be gunned down for the crime of existing in israel's eyeline.

Oh and if literal grass-touching IS viable, I also advocate for touching invasive grass. Many parks in the US have invasive plant removal volunteer work days. You get some air and some exercise and you can talk to other volunteers if you want or you can just march off into the trees on your own and start wreaking havoc with various hand tools. If you want to do something that is both useful AND destructive, I have found nothing better

you can give seven days of internet connection to someone in gaza for just 6 USD
gazaesims.com is a website dedicated to helping people donate esims for people in gaza. there are multiple options for where to purchase an esim to donate, for the price i listed you want to use nomad esims. you can get a $3 discount by using someone's referral code from the notes of this post. it also will give the referrer credit to buy more esims! (you can only use a referral code on your first purchase) @/fairuzfan also a tag for esim referral codes here, some of which are nomad. BACKPACKNOMAD is another code to get $3 off your first purchase, it's been working for some people but not others so try out a referral code instead if you can't get it to work. also it took over an hour for the email with my information to come through so don't panic if it doesn't show up right away. (logging back into your nomad account seems to have helped some people get their emails to send!) (nomad promo codes do not work on plans that are already on sale, unlimited plans, and plans under $5)
small troubleshooting hint: if you are trying to purchase an esim using the provider's app, it may block you from purchasing if your phone does not fit the requirements to install and use their esims. use their website in your browser instead and this problem should go away.
edit as of 1/1/24: they are running out of all esims types right now! please donate esims from any of the platforms: nomad, airalo, holafly, simly, and mogo. here is a purchase guide i made that covers all of them. the crew is asking for people to reply to emails they sent that contain esims that are still unactivated. you can see gothhabiba’s guide for how to tell if your esims have been activated.

So do people realize that we aren't building new train tracks when we expand the amteak network, I have multiple times seen people say that we shouldn't expand the network because it would destroy protected lands, which would be a fair criticism but Amtrak doesn't build new tracks, we use existing tracks. We are not destroying protected lands, we are using land that has already been clear for a century

Facebook deleted this almost immediately. It's almost like the ultrawealthy don't want us knowing or talking about what's at stake.

I'm curious.. I'm putting together notes on as much as the stuff I gathered while working in the animation/arts industry. This section is about building new worlds, what it means, how to do it, etc etc. I have sections about story, color, lighting, comp, story dev, but also about what it means to be an artist, how it relates to the world, to your mental health, etc etc Would anybody be interested in a book of this?

Superfly's home base for the TMNT: Mutant Mayhem movie! I based this location on the Arthur Kill ship graveyard in Staten Island. It was really fun painting in the existing boats there and figuring out the type of ship that felt right for Superfly and family. Included some sketches of other ideas I had for the set.
More work on my ig: @hi_garrett
