Fun concept: Kakashi and Yamato being in an established relationship, but refusing to admit it to any of Team 7 despite being caught in a series of increasingly compromising positions by various members of the squad.

“CPR,” says Yamato, when he’s caught with Kakashi below him on the training grounds, mask hastily pushed back in place. Sakura eyes them suspiciously. 

“Sparring,” offers Kakashi, when Yamato is the one pinned down, their flak jackets and forehead protectors long-forgotten. Naruto asks to join. They say no in unison. 

“Termites,” explains Yamato, when Sai asks why he is sleeping in Kakashi’s apartment. “Why are you not wearing a shirt, taichō?” “Also termites,” says Kakashi, nodding sagely. 

“New ANBU guard tactics,” announces Kakashi, when the kids visit the Hokage’s office, and Sasuke senses Yamato’s chakra under his desk. Sasuke scoffs. Naruto shrugs. Sakura sighs. Sai tries to climb under the desk too.
