ALAMEDA, Calif. - The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent WR Brian Burt, the club announced Friday.
Burt, a 5-foot-11, 194-pound receiver out of Fresno State, played two seasons (2017-18) for the Bulldogs before signing with the Silver and Black. He appeared in seven games at Fresno State including six as a senior in 2018.
Before joining the Bulldogs' program, the East Wenatchee, Wash., native played for Ventura (Calif.) College during the 2016 campaign. He appeared in 11 contests and tallied 87 rushes for 563 yards with four scores, while adding 14 receptions for 212 yards and an additional two touchdowns. That season, Burt earned second-team all-purpose honors with the school.
ALAMEDA, Calif. - The Oakland Raiders have waived WR Jalin Marshall, the club announced Thursday.
The 5-foot-11, 205-pound receiver most recently spent the 2019 season with the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football. Ahead of his stint with the Apollos, Marshall spent two seasons (2016-17) with the New York Jets after signing with the club as an undrafted free agent.

Raiders first draft picks
Though Ferrell was an all-state football star at Benedictine College Prep in Virginia, an all-male military school, he suffered through some difficult times. His father passed away when he was a freshman, and he missed his senior football season with a torn ACL. Ferrell was still ranked among the top 10 defensive end recruits in the country. Unfortunately, his bad luck continued once he arrived at Clemson, as a hand injury forced him to redshirt the 2015 season. Ferrell stood out as a freshman the following fall, sharing the team's defensive rookie of the year award with Dexter Lawrence after posting 50 tackles, 12.5 for loss, and six sacks in 15 starts. He made an impact in the ACC Championship Game (sack) and national semifinal (Fiesta Bowl Defensive MVP with three tackles for loss, sack) for the eventual title-winners. His sophomore season was even more impressive. Ferrell was named first-team All-American by the Associated Press, first-team All-ACC by league coaches and a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation's top defensive end (63 tackles, 18 for loss, 9.5 sacks, two forced fumbles in 14 starts). Clemson coaches named him co-defensive player of the game (two tackles, sack) in the team's loss to Alabama in the national title game. The Tigers took care of business in 2018, beating Alabama thanks in part to Ferrell's All-American play. The first-team All-ACC selection and winner of the Ted Hendricks Award racked up 53 stops, 19.5 for loss, 11.5 sacks, four pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 15 starts.

Raiders host pro day
Understandably, Kyler Murray, Nick Bosa, Dwayne Haskins, Quinnen Williams, and many more have dominated the 2019 NFL Draft discussions. Each player is expected to be a high first-round pick, but as any NFL head coach or general manager will tell you, it's imperative that team's hit on all their picks, and not just the first round.Thursday afternoon, the Oakland Raiders hosted a local pro day at the team's facility in Alameda, Calif., for prospects that either grew up or attended college within a 50-mile radius. The main draws were players from Stanford, California Berkeley, UC Davis, and San Jose State. While the group of almost 40 players probably won't be drafted on Day One, it's important to get extra face time with the coaching staff in case they're selected at a later point of the Draft.Following the pro day, former Heisman Trophy candidate Bryce Love spoke with the media, as well as UC Davis wide receiver Keelan Doss.Honestly I knew the process was going to be long, but it's a fun one and you only get to do it once," Doss said when asked about the evaluation process. "It's long, and it might be tiring at points, but next year you're not going to be doing this, you're either going to be working out or just chilling for the most part. Being able to go to Mobile and experiencing the [Senior Bowl] and going to the Combine - even though I wasn't able to participate - but still being down there and witnessing that whole thing. It's been a grind, but it's been a fun one."Love and Doss had different college experiences, Love played at Stanford while Doss played at UC Davis; however, both have dealt with their fair share of limitations through the evaluation process.Love is recovering from an ACL injury, which has kept him on the sideline, unable to participate in many of the NFL's event-based drills. Doss - who was a member of the Raiders' North roster at the Senior Bowl - missed out on many of the Combine activities due to a pec injury, but both are grateful to get another opportunity to meet with the Raiders coaching staff.

Pick #4: Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky:
Allen has a prototypical frame for an edge rusher. He has an outstanding bend and agility that should help make him an immediate impact.
However, he is undersized to play as a true defensive end and will struggle to hold the point of attack in the run game. Regardless, his ceiling is that of a Von Miller, and his talent is too tantalizing to pass up here. Allen is arguably the best edge rusher in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Pick #24: TJ Hockenson, TE, Iowa:
The Raiders lost tight end Jared Cook in free agency to the Saints. So, they take Hockenson here who is one of the best all-around tight end prospects to enter the draft in years.
Hockenson is plenty capable of making an impact as a receiver, with outstanding size, awareness, hands, toughness, and route Pick #27: Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State:
Butler is a huge receiver, standing 6’6″ and weighing 225 pounds. He is outstanding in contested catch situations and is almost impossible to bring down once he catches the ball. At the NFL Combine, Butler ran an impressive 4.48, giving him the speed to stretch defenses vertically.
The Silver and Black needed to upgrade their talent around quarterback Derek Carr this offseason and adding Hockenson and Butler to already acquired Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, and Isaiah Crowell makes for a fantastic supporting cast. knowledge.
He is also an absolute road grader in the run game. I view Hockenson as a perennial pro bowl player at a position of need. Easy pick here for the Raiders after the loss of Cook.Pick #27: Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State:

Rob Gronkowski, the dominant tight end who helped lead the New England Patriots to three Super Bowl titles in nine seasons while cultivating a goofy, frat boy persona off the field, announced his retirement from the N.F.L. on Sunday. In an Instagram post, Gronkowski, 29, widely considered one of the most talented tight ends to ever play, thanked the team and its fans for drafting his “silliness” back in 2010 and acknowledged the uncertainty of what will come next for him.“Thank you for everyone accepting who I am and the dedication I have put into my work to be the best player I could be,” he said. “But now its time to move forward and move forward with a big smile knowing that the New England Patriots Organization, Pats Nation, and all my fans will be truly a big part of my heart for rest of my life.”
Gronkowski did not say why he was retiring, or what he planned to do next. But according to a report on NFL Network, Gronkowski agreed to a deal with a film or television company before the Super Bowl. There also were a series of injuries that put in question how much longer he could play. He had hinted the past two seasons that he was considering leaving the N.F.L. because of the wear and tear on his body, which led to missed games because of an ankle sprain, a broken forearm, an infection, a herniated disk in his back, a torn A.C.L., a sprained knee, an injured hamstring and a pulmonary contusion, among other injuries.

This week on sports. The raiders have picked up WR Antonio Brown. Trades are all about what you got versus what you gave up. Gruden and Mayock didn’t fork over much for a four-time All-Pro receiver considered high among the game’s elite. Just a third-rounder and a fifth-round pick, in fast. The Raiders paid Brown some pretty pennies -- $50.125 million over three years, with $30 million guaranteed -- to go along with the trade, but standard production will make him worth the expense. Some say adding a nearly 31-year-old won’t help the Raiders’ long-term rebuilding project, that he might not be dominant when the Silver and Black are deep enough to compete for titles.Brown signed a four-year, $66 million contract with $36.75 million guaranteed, the largest ever for an NFL offensive tackle. The deal was complete less than 10 minutes after the free-agency negotiating window opened. It was, as Brown put it, and offer he couldn’t refuse. Can’t blame him for that.DB Lamarcus Joyner. The Raiders desperately needed help at free safety and a slot cornerback. Joyner fills both needs. He’s adept playing both and will switch between the two positions as a three-down player. The Raiders could still use another defensive back for depth, but he gives experience and leadership to an otherwise young secondary. He should compliment Karl Joseph on the back end, and provide speed a stability deep the Raiders haven’t had in years.WR Tyrell Williams. The Raiders upgraded their receiver corps not once but twice in a week, adding Brown and this 6-foot-4 deep threat to the pattern. Gruden has a goal, to form the NFL’s best receiver corps. That group was devoid of talent last year, and pairing Brown and Williams provides a significant upgrade to the passing game. Williams is a gamer, someone who can play every receiver position if required. He has averaged nearly 16 yards per reception and having someone who can make big plays should further add a dynamic quality receiver to the offense.

I am back. The nfl combine has started. The combine is a place where the level collagen athletes try and showcase their abilities in hope that they will be drafted in the nfl. So far it has been pretty good. One of the most exciting is D.K metcalf. He ran 40 yard dash in 4.33. He did 32 reps on the bench with 225 pounds. Had a 40 inch vertical and had a 10’10 broad jump. As well as nick bosa. Nick boss had a 4.78 for his size it is amazing he is expected to be the number 1 draft pick. Another amazing performance was by Montez sweat. He is a edge rusher who is 6’6 and ran a 4.42 which is faster than most receivers. He ran just slower than obj, and faster than Ezekiel Elliott. This is amazing by any standards for any position. But as a defensive lineman this extraordinary he also broke the record for longest broad jump. This is overall amazing. The last person on the list was Devon white. He is a middle linebacker from LSU he is a hard hitter and has great instincts. He was expected to go late first round then the combine came and he preformed. He ran a 4.42 for the 40. Be had a 38 vertical and benched 32 times which is good he is expected to go 15-20 in the draft now and is a real game changer.

Well I am back again and I am going to do predictions in the biggest game of the year because I cannot report after the game because of the time. It is Saturday the day before super bowl Sunday. The Super Bowl has the Los Angeles rams vs the New England patriots. As I think about it the Rams should take the victory. The only concern is nerves. I say that because not a single player on the rams has been in the super bowl. The super bowl is the most nerve racking game of the whole year. As a young team on their first attempt to win the super bowl this is a key factor. For the reason that they could come out of the gate slow and make a lot of mistakes. This could allow the patriots with almost the entire team having experience in the super bowl to come out and get some points on the board. The Jared Goff the rams QB needs to stay calm stay in the pocket and make the key throws. If Todd Gurley has a great game he can easily have a touchdown or more considering that the patriots have a difficult time covering the run. If Todd gurley has a ok game CJ Anderson should pick up the slack. My final prediction 34-24 RAMS.

As it is well know rams and patriots are in the Super Bowl. Nothing has happened in the nfl for the reason that the season is over. The pro bowl went on nothing really important there. The only thing that is remotely important is what is going on in the NBA. I am a LA fan except for football. So being a LA can I have been a lakers fan since birth. Now that I am older and understand sports I am getting into baseball, basketball, and football. For basketball the lakers are ranked 8th in there conference. This is with Lebron. Lebron got injured in a game against Golden state. If lebron was young the injury would have him out for only a week or so. But he needs more time to recover. So he has taken a few weeks off. This is ok because this allows the younger guys on the team to step up. For example Kyle Kuzma he is a player who is blossoming into a future nba star. As well brandon Ingram. Lanzó ball got injured a week ago and will be out for 2-4 weeks. The only reason I believe the lakers will make it to the playoffs. Lebron. He is the best player in the NBA. When he comes back the lakers are taking a spot in the playoffs. So good bye till next week.

What has happened this week. This week was the NFC and AFC championship games. It was the New Orleans saints vs. the LA Rams for the nfc championship. The AFC was the Kansas city chiefs vs. the New England patriots. For the saints it was a robbery in. In a hometown game the saints had a tie game. Until the last few seconds of the game the saints throw a 15 yard fade to their outside receiver. When the free safety from up top comes and blows him up. The hit was illegal, it was pass interference, and helmet to helmet by all means the ball should have been placed on the 5 and been repeat 3rd down. Instead it was it wasn’t called at all. The saints kick the field goal to hopefully end the game but Jared Goff’s Rams ties it and scores in overtime. Leaving the saints and drew brees Super Bowl dream in the dust. For the AFC it was a fair game. No terrible play calling but rather just a game of chess between Andrew reed and Bill Belichick. The patriots defense was strong doing its best to stop the best offense in the league. But what really mattered was how the chiefs defense just didn’t show up today. Tom brady took another dub and is going to the Super Bowl. 38-31 patriots. If u ask me I say it is rigged somehow because well I just hate Tom Brady.

Emiliano avila sports We are going to open the weekly blog post by recap of what has happened in the time I did cover. The regular season for football has ended. With the Raiders have one of the worst records in the league they did not make the playoffs. This was expected but the still sucks. The problem is in the post season so far both the bears and cowboys did well. The bears lost to the eagles because of a missed field goal. So we have the 24 draft pick and the on Saturday the cowboys lost to the rams. This made me so happy as any normal human can say we all hate the cowboys. The cowboys held a 14-0 then the rams just decided that it was time to start playing. The rams at one point were 30-14. This was a very good moment for everyone. Then we saw amari cooper fight with a corner from they ram which made angry because since he left the Raiders I just can't stand him. This has been most of what has happened in the last few weeks. Also the eagles lost to the saints today so which is also pretty good because no one likes the eagles. That is it see u next time.

Emiliano Avila Sports #4 Well let’s talk about this week game. The Raiders are going against the best football team in the afc. This would be the Kansas City chiefs. The expected score was that the Raiders would be demolished. How the Raiders would lose but 2 touchdowns. This was not the case. The Raiders came to play today and that is what they did. The chiefs had one of three best players get cut. That would be Kareem Hunt. Kareem Hunt was cut from the team for a domestic violence. Without him the run game for the chiefs was awful. Patrick mahomes had the most rushing yards this game for the chiefs. Patrick Mahomes is a QB for a QB to have the most rushing yards is sad. The chiefs ran the ball the ball 30 times. This is means the Raiders shut down the run game. The Raiders on the other hand did very well. Jalen Richard had six careers for 95 yards averaging 15.8 yards a carry. Doug martin has 18 careers for 61 averaging 3.4 yards a carry. The pass game is what caused it to be a good game. The chiefs QB Patrick mahomes is a great QB. He throws most of his balls on the run but he can thread the needle so well. Travis Kelce had a huge game with two touchdowns for 168 yards. Jared cook had a good game as well. 1 touchdown 100 yards the only reason Kelce has a better game is because the three the ball to him more. But other than that the Raiders performed well the Defensive line played better than it ever has. Key had a blocked pat which never happens. I am so happy that the Raiders didn’t get blown out and have played like the 2016 team they the fans know and love. So again LETS GO RAIDERS.

The Raiders. The Raiders haven’t done so well today although it wasn’t horrible. Defense as usual was awful but the offense was not terrible. The offense line was terrible. The pass game wasn’t though. Derek Carr had an amazing pass to Jared cook for a touchdown. Jared cook is overall an amazing player and deserves to be in the probowl. This is because with a terrible team he still performs he is the only thing that works for the Raiders. Jared cook is the Raiders be Sebastian janacoski. Sebastion janacoski is a former raider kicker. The Raiders need to perform and and basically need a new team. Although LETS GO RAIDERS.

Emiliano Avila 11/18/18 #4 Sports Let’s talk about this week's game. Well I am pretty happy. The Oakland Raiders have done it they have won another game breaking there terrible streak. The Raiders took a win against the cardinals in Arizona. The Raiders won by a single field goal. The score was 23-21 the Raiders usual players did great. 1.) Derek Carr threw 19-31 for 192 yards and two touchdowns. 2.) jared cook went 3-6 going 31 yards and one touchdown. 3.) Karl Joseph 1 interceptions. 4.) Brandon lafell 1TD. 5.) Gareon Conley 1 interception. The Raiders did extremely well. The offensive line needs work although held strong for the duration of the game. Derek Carr has a good game connecting well with his teammates and having great vision on the field today. Jared cook is in his way to the pro bowl with the season he is having. The only issue now is that the raiders had some injuries. Starting receiver Brandon lafell left the game with an achilles injury this is a very serious injury. Although other than that the Raiders clicked today. This is very important for the Raiders self confidence because now they have confidence. So good bye and LETS GO RAIDERS.

Emiliano Avila 11/8/18 #4 Being a Raiders fan nowadays is actually very difficult. I personally have been a Raiders fan my whole life. Recently they’ve been playing like they’ve never held a football before. There have been 3 games where they have only score by field goal. This is so disappointing. But I am not going to talk about today game. The game was bad but that doesn’t matter this season is basically over. What I am doing is looking to the furniture. The future is all about our draft picks. The number 1 pick is going to the Raiders. The complicated thing is who are the Raiders going to pick. The Raiders need a defensive line. But do we need a DE or a DT. If the Raiders decide to go DT then they choose Ed Oliver. He is Ranked #1 in college football overall. But if the Raiders choose to go DE it will be Christian Wilkins. Or Nick Bosa. Both are good the only thing is that Nick bosa has a inside view of the nfl because of is brother Joey bosa. Who is an amazing DE and would have won defensive player of the year if Khalil Mack hadn’t been such a freak of nature. Either way the Raiders have sometime to figure stuff out. But Let’s go Raiders.

Emiliano avila Sports So let's get in to it. This week is or has been awful. I can’t watch any sports at all. The Raiders have been awful the dodgers lost the world series and lebron is doing OK not great with the Lakers. The raiders had a huge defeat to the 49ers. This was the most embarrassing thing I have lived through for most it was just sad but for me it was horrible. I am a well known Raider fan I am very proud to be one as well because of their history. My dad and his whole family are Raiders fans. My dad fell in love with the Raiders when they were in LA 1988-1984 but his family were fans from when they back in Oakland in during the 1960s. I have always been a Raider but I truly became a lover of the sport and team was back in 2015. What made me love football was one man in particular. His name was Khalil Mack. Although we know how that went down. Although I still Love the Raiders this season I have hated it though. The Raiders have made some of the worst decisions ever. 1] Khalil Mack trade. 2] Amari cooper trade. 3] cutting Bruce Irvin. Wait cutting Bruce Irvin when did that happened. Oh ya the Raiders didn’t trade Bruce Irvin or even just kept the great pass rusher they cut him for no reason. Just to get rid of him. At the moment I have to just full faith in John Gruden. Whatever he is doing he needs to do he is doing and he is setting up for it. I pray he does it soon but if i get three winning seasons out of this I will be happy. So LET’S GO RAIDERS

Hey guys so it is me nano and I am back. With the most depressing news ever. The dodgers and raiders both lost. The dodgers lost on the biggest event in baseball the World Series. The World Series is the only thing that u have to win and they didn’t. This is the second year they lost in a row. This is awful and again we have to blame one man and he rightfully deserves the blame. Dave Roberts is the man to blame he is the last person you want in your Dugout. He calls pitchers out at the worst time. That is what killed us. He called pitchers to late or to early. They lost to the Red Sox’s 5-1 and lost the series 4-1. The Raiders lost today to but that is expected. They didn’t do horrible but they also didn’t do good. They lost by two touchdowns but they did really good the first half. They had 5 first downs in a row onedrive. The thing is I am so happy because I saw something that made so happy. Derek Carr has gone back to his old self. He stayed in the pocket took a beating but got the ball out. He rolled out the pocket when he needed to but ran like he was invincible. That is how he was before and that is how it should be. So bad but not that bad of a week. Not to bad see you later Alligator.
