Nami forgiving Hatchan was a big step towards her finally moving forward with her life, as well as her not holding a grudge against fish-men as a whole is extremely important for her and her development & if there is an interest, I will release my meta one day on this!

Nami had been angry for a better part of the day; for some reason, this year, Bell-mère's death was hitting her hard this time, making her anxious that the debt seemed impossible to pay off. Her own emotions twisted into a bitter rage. ❝ And another— ❞ Her words were promptly stopped as he lifted her up, finally setting her away from the chaos that had become their crew. Arms defiantly folded over her chest, preparing herself to yell at him for interrupting her mid-scolding, but they were lost in her throat. At first, she doesn't respond, not knowing what to say. Her anger was a safeguarded secret she wasn't certain she could trust these pirates with.

❝ Do you really want to know what my problem is? ❞ She retorted, trying to stall for time. Could she really trust him with the truth? Wasn't he and Luffy just another means to an end? There was part of her that believed that, but another part of her that had begun to feel like this ship was her home. ❝ You and Luffy are bleeding me dry! Seriously, how can the two of you eat so much and not pay back your debts!? ❞ Her words were things she had said before, an easy scapegoat at the moment. She saw nothing wrong with a little white lie.

❝ Someone on this ship has to worry about our funds! How can a cook want to come to cook on a ship that has no money to get the supplies they will need!? ❞ She inquired after a moment, her attempt to change the subject. Though if she were, to be honest with herself, there was something comforting about his concern for her, and she couldn't remember the last time this feeling had come to her.
