For weeks, I’ve been haunted by the concept of the Salamanca twins not having the same blood type…

This isn’t explicitly canon, but it’s lightly implied that Marco was the only one with the correct blood type to give Nacho the transfusion, so, at the very least, that’s one way to interpret it. And fraternal twins are just as likely to have different blood types as anybody else, so it’s not at all improbable that they would.

And that was distressing enough… the potential that, despite being so close they essentially function as one person, they couldn’t give each other a life-saving transfusion in an emergency… But then I looked up what blood types are compatible and realized it’s WORSE than that…

Marco is canonically O-negative. He was chosen to give Nacho the transfusion because O-negatives can give to anyone, so they didn’t have to know Nacho’s blood type to know it would work. BUT, O-negatives can ONLY take O-negative, which means that, assuming they do have different blood types, Marco would be able to save Leonel via transfusion, but Leonel wouldn’t be able to save Marco.

And that is just. SO much more fucked up than I even thought!!!!!!! What the fuck. Who allowed this????????
